Immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy has dramatically improved patient prognosis,and thereby transformed the treatment in various cancer types including esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)in the past *** antibodies that selectively inhibit programmed cell death-1(PD-1)activity has now become standard of care in the treatment of ESCC in metastatic settings,and has a high expectation to provide clinical benefit during perioperative ***,anti-cytotoxic T-lymphocyte–associated protein 4(CTLA-4)monoclonal antibody has also been approved in the treatment of recurrent/metastatic ESCC in combination with anti-PD-1 *** understanding of the existing evidence of immune-based treatments for ESCC,as well as recent clinical trials on various combinations with chemotherapy for different clinical settings including neoadjuvant,adjuvant,and metastatic diseases,may provide future prospects of ESCC treatment for better patient outcomes.

Rare-earth silicates are promising environmental barrier coatings(EBCs)that can protect SiC_(f)/Si C_(m)substrates in next-genera tion gas turbine ***,RE_(2)Si_(2)O_(7)(RE=Yb and Ho)shows potential as an EBC due to its coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE)compatible with substrates and high resistance to water vapor *** target operating temperature for next-generation tur bine blades is 1400°*** is inevitable during adhesion to molten volcanic ash,and thus,understanding the corrosion behavior o the material is crucial to its *** study investigates the high-temperature corrosion behavior of sintered RE_(2)Si_(2)O_(7)(RE=Yb and Ho).Samples were prepared using a solid-state reaction and hot-press *** were then exposed to volcanic ash at 1400°C for 224,and 48 *** 48 h of exposure,volcanic ash did not react with Yb_(2)Si_(2)O_(7)but penetrated its interior,causing *** Ho_(2)Si_(2)O_(7)was partially dissolved in the molten volcanic ash,forming a reaction zone that prevented volcanic ash melts from penetrating the *** increasing heat treatment time,the reaction zone expanded,and the thickness of the acicular apatite grains increased The Ca:Si ratios in the residual volcanic ash were mostly unchanged for Yb_(2)Si_(2)O_(7)but decreased considerably over time for Ho_(2)Si_(2)O_(7).Th Ca in volcanic ash was consumed and formed apatite,indicating that RE^(3+)ions with large ionic radii(Ho>Yb)easily precipitated apatit from the volcanic ash.

Background:We retrospectively evaluated the postoperative renal function in patients who had undergone radical prostatectomy to compare the incidences of postoperative acute kidney injury(AKI)among the patients who had undergone robot-assisted radical prostatectomy(RARP),retropubic radical prostatectomy(RRP),and extraperitoneal laparoscopic radical prostatectomy(exLRP).Materials and methods:Patients with prostate cancer who had undergone radical prostatectomy at our institution between 2008 and 2014 were ***-assisted radical prostatectomy was performed using an intraperitoneal approach in a 25-degree Trendelenburg position,whereas other procedures were performed with the patient in the supine *** evaluated the serum creatinine levels and estimated glomerular filtration rates immediately after surgery and on postoperative day *** evaluated the incidence of AKI after prostatectomy using the Acute Kidney Injury Network criteria of the Kidney Disease:Improving Global Outcomes ***:A total of 150 consecutive patients were included,with each of the 3 groups(RARP,RRP,and exLRP)comprising 50 *** AKI was observed in 15(30.0%),1(2.0%),and 3(6.0%)patients in the RARP,RRP,and exLRP groups,*** 1 AKI was observed in all the patients except *** incidence of AKI in RARP group was significantly higher than that in the other groups(p<0.001).In the RARP group,the serum creatinine level was significantly elevated immediately after the surgery;however,it returned to baseline on postoperative day *** procedures were the only independent factor associated with AKI ***:This study suggest that compared with RRP and exLRP,RARP is associated with a higher incidence of postoperative AKI,although most patients recover ***-abdominal pneumoperitoneum may contribute to AKI onset.

Carbazole-triazine dendrimers with a bulky terminal substituent were synthesized,and the thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)property was *** to unsubstituted carbazole dendrimers,dendrimers with bulky terminal substituents showed comparable to better photoluminescence quantum yields(PLQY)in neat ***(PF)-substituted dendrimers showed the highest PLQY of 81%,a smallΔEst of 0.06 eV,and the fastest reverse intersystem crossing(RISC)rate of∼1×10^(5 )s^(−1) compared to other *** measurements of dendrimers and dendrons(fragments)indicate that the close proximity of the triplet energy of phenylfluorene-substituted carbazole dendrons(^(3)LE)to that of phenylfluorene-substituted dendrimers(^(1)CT,^(3)CT)contributes to RISC promotion and improves TADF *** modification fine-tunes the energy level and suppresses intermolecular interactions,and this study provides a guideline for designing efficient solution-processable and non-doped TADF materials.

蒙古牧民家庭通过适应当地植被分布的特点来维持牲畜的健康状况。因此,预测未来植被变化对于稳定的牲畜放牧和可持续的草原利用至关重要。本研究基于前期研究获得的植被数据预测了2081年至2100年间草原植被,尤其是沙漠草原、草原和草甸草原的分布范围。我们首先基于在蒙古(43–50°N,87–119°E)收集的草原植被数据(2012至2016年,278个样地)划分了不同的群落类型。其次,采用最大熵(MaxEnt)模型进行物种分布建模,其中以荒漠草原、草原和草甸草原的分布数据作为目标变量,使用WorldClim的生物气候数据作为解释变量。最后,采用WorldClim提供的CMIP6下缩放的未来气候预测数据进行未来预测。结果发现,荒漠草原、草原和草甸草原模型的曲线下面积值分别为0.850、0.847和0.873。根据所有情景和所有群落的气候变化,适宜栖息地预计将缩小。潜在适宜区域减少的程度在草甸草原群落中最为显著。上述结果表明,未来气候变化情景下草甸草原群落将转变为草原群落。

Background:We clarified the predictive factors for changes in the status ofmedications for lower urinary tract symptoms(LUTS)2 years after local radiotherapy for nonmetastatic prostate *** and methods:We retrospectively included patients who underwent local external radiotherapy for nonmetastatic prostate cancer in 8 institutions between April 2001 and March *** were divided into themedication and no-medication group based on the use of drugs for LUTS before *** defined improvement of LUTS as when the patient did not require medication for LUTS at 24 months after radiotherapy in the medication group and as deterioration whenmedication was required in the no-medication *** regression analysis was used to evaluate predictive factors for changes in medication ***:Altogether,505 patients were divided into a no-medication group(n=352)and a medication group(n=153).The number of patients with deterioration and improvement in LUTS was 49(14%)and 36(23%),*** the multivariate analysis,the predictive variables for deterioration were the International Prostate SymptomScore(≥8;odds ratio[OR],2.21;p=0.014)and the biopsy Gleason score(≤3+4=7;OR,2.430;p=0.008)in the no-medication group,whereas those for improvement were age(<75 years old;OR,5.81;p=0.002),the quality of life score(<3;OR,3.15;p=0.028),and a positive biopsy core rate(≥50%;OR,2.530;p=0.027)in the medication ***:These predictive factors for changes in the status ofmedications for LUTS at 2 years after external radiotherapymay help determine the definitive therapy for nonmetastatic prostate cancer.

This paper discusses a distributed decision procedure for determining the electricity price for a real-time electricity market in an energy management system. The price decision algorithm proposed in this paper derives the optimal electricity price while considering the constraints of a linearized AC power grid model. The algorithm is based on the power demand-supply balance and voltage phase differences in a power grid. In order to determine the optimal price that maximizes the social welfare distributively and to improve the convergence speed of the algorithm, the proposed algorithm updates the price through the alternating decision making of market participants. In this paper, we show the convergence of the price derived from our proposed algorithm. Furthermore, numerical simulation results show that the proposed dynamic pricing methodology is effective and that there is an improvement in the convergence speed, as compared with the conventional method.

It has often been reported that, when building structures are subjected to near-fault earthquake ground motions, horizontal and vertical impulsive inputs may cause critical damage during the first few seconds. In practical design of building structures, however, the safety check, taking into account the effect of multi-component ground motions, is hardly conducted except the design of important structures such as high-rise buildings and nuclear power plants. Ftirthel＇more, it is not clear how the correlation of multi-component ground motions influences the actual safety of structures. In this paper, the detailed property of critical excitation is discussed in association with the relationship between the characteristics of ground motions and those of structures. The properties of various auto power spectral density （PSD） functions of the horizontal and vertical ground motions are investigated, and those of the critical cross PSD function of these two-directional ground motions are found by a devised algorithm in a feasible complex plane. A closed-form expression is derived from the critical relation of the auto PSD functions of the simultaneous inputs. This critical excitation method provides us with a new approach for earthquake-resistant design against the possible future earthquake which causes the critical damages to buildings.
