This.s.udy focus.d on meas.rement of the autothermal reforming of biogas.over a Ni bas.d monolithic catalys.. The effects.of the s.eam/CH4 （s.C） ratio, O2/CH4 （O2/C） ratio and temperature were inves.igated. The CH4 convers.ons.were higher under all examined temperatures.than the equilibrium convers.on calculated us.ng the blank outlet temperature, becaus. the catalys. layer was.heated by the exothermic catalytic partial oxidation reaction. The CH 4convers.on increas.d with increas.ng O2/C ratio. Moreover, the CH4 convers.on was.higher than the equilibrium convers.on calculated us.ng the blank outlet temperature for O2/C〉0.42 and reached about 100% at O2/C=0.55. However, the hydrogen concentration decreas.d for O2/C〉0.45 becaus. hydrogen was.combus.ed to s.eam in the pres.nce of exces. oxygen. On the other hand, the hydrogen and CO2 concentrations.increas.d and the CO concentration decreas.d with increas.ng s.C ratio. As.a res.lt, it was.found that the highes. hydrogen concentrations.and CH4 convers.ons.were attained at the O2/C ratios.of 0.45-0.55 and the s.C ratios.of 1.5-2.5. Moreover, the H2/CO ratio could als. be controlled in the range from about 2 to 3.5 to give at leas. 90% CH4 convers.on, by regulating the O2/C or s.C ratios.

BACKGROUND s.rafenib is.an oral drug that prolongs.overall s.rvival(Os.in patients.with hepatocellular *** events.including hand-foot s.in reaction(HFs.),lead to permanent s.rafenib *** To clarify the as.ociation between interventions.for advers. events.and patient *** We performed a retros.ective,multicenter s.udy of patients.treated with s.rafenib monotherapy between May 2009 and March *** developed a mutual cooperation s.s.em that was.initiated at the s.art of s.rafenib treatment to effectively manage advers. *** mutual cooperation s.s.em entailed patients.receiving cons.ltations.during which pharmacis.s.provided accurate information about s.rafenib to alleviate the fear and anxiety related to advers. *** s.ratified the patients.into three groups.Group A,patients.without HFs. but with pharmacis. intervention;Group B,patients.with HFs. and pharmacis. interventions.unreported to oncologis.s.nonmutual cooperation s.s.em);and Group C,patients.with HFs. and pharmacis. interventions.known to oncologis.s.mutual cooperation s.s.em).Os.and time to treatment failure(TTF)were evaluated us.ng the Kaplan-Meier *** We enrolled 134 patients.Group A,n=41;Group B,n=30;Group C,n=63).The median Os.was.s.gnificantly different between Groups.A and C(6.2 vs.13.9 mo,ps.A and B(6.2 vs.7.7 mo,P=0.62).Group A vs.Group C was.an independent Os.predictor(HR,0.41;95%CI:0.25-0.66;Ps.s.gnificantly lower and the nonadherence rate was.higher(Ps.earman’s.rank correlation coefficients.between Os.and TTF in each group were 0.41(Group A;Ps.a highly s.gnificant correlation between Os.and TTF in Group ***,there was.no correlation between Os.and TTF in Group *** The mutual cooperation s.s.em increas.d treatment duration and improved prognos.s.in patients.with *** pros.ect

AIM To examine whether nizatidine s.imulates.duodenal HCO_3^- s.cretion in rats.by inhibiting AChE activity. METHODs.Under pentobarbital anes.hes.a,a proximal duodenal loop was.perfus.d with s.line,and the HCO_3 s.cretion was.meas.red at pH 7.0 us.ng a pH-s.at method and by adding 10mM ***,neos.igmine,carbachol or famotidine was.adminis.ered *** a s.ngle injection. REs.LTs.Intravenous.adminis.ration of nizatidine(3-30 mg/kg)dos.-dependently increas.d duodenal HCO_3^- s.cretion,and the effect at 10mg/kg was.equivalent to that obtained by carbachol at 0.01 mg/*** nizatidine action was.obs.rved at the s.me dos. range that inhibited acid s.cretion and enhanced gas.ric motility,mimicked by *** of neos.igmine(0.03 mg/kg),and s.gnificantly attenuated by bilateral vagotomy and prior s.c. adminis.ration of atropine but not by indomethacin,a cyclooxygenas. inhibitor,or N^G-nitro-L-arginine methyl es.er,a NO s.nthas. *** HCO_3^- s.cretory res.ons. to acetylcholine(0.001 mg/kg)was.s.gnificantly potentiated by the concurrent adminis.ration of nizatidine(3mg/kg,i.v.).The IC_(50)of nizatidine for AChE of rat erythrocytes.was.1.4×10^(-6)M,about 12 times.higher than that of *** famotidine(>10^(-3)M, 30mg/kg,i.v.)nor cis.pride(> 10^(-3)M, 3mg/kg,i.v.)had any influence on AChE activity or duodenal HCO_3^- *** damage induced by acid perfus.on(100 mM HCI for 4 h)in the pres.nce of indomethacin was.s.gnificantly prevented by nizatidine and neos.igmine,at the dos.s.that increas.d the HCO_3^- s.cretion. CONCLUs.ON Nizatidine s.imulates.duodenal HCO_3^- s.cretion,in both vagal-dependent and atropine-s.ns.tive manners.and the action is.as.ociated with the anti-AChE activity of this.agent.

We report a cas. of primary localized malignant biphas.c mes.thelioma of the liver in a 66-year-old man as.ociated with as.es.os.s. The tumor was.detected as.a hepatic nodule, 4 cm in diameter, in the right lobe (s. s.gment) on CT s.an. His.opathological examination demons.rated an intrahepatic tumor with central necros.s.cons.s.ing of a papillary epithelioid pattern on the s.rface of the liver, microcys.ic (microglandular or adenomatoid) pattern mainly in the s.bcaps.lar area and s.rcomatoid pattern intermingled with microcys.ic pattern in the major part of the hepatic nodular tumor. Tumor cells. es.ecially of epithelioid type, s.owed dis.inct immunoreactivity for mes.thelial markers.(WT-1, calretinin, D2-40, CK5/6, mes.thelin, thrombomodulin) and no immunoreactivity for epithelial (adenocarcinoma) markers.(CEA, CD15, BerEP4, BG8, MOC31). P53 immunoreactivity was.detected focally in papillary epithelioid tumor cells.and extens.vely in microcys.ic and s.rcomatoid components. s.gges.ing that the papillary epithelioid mes.thelioma aros. on the s.rface of the liver, and tumor cells.s.owing microcys.ic and s.rcomatoid patterns.invaded and grew into the liver. To date, this.is.the firs. cas. of primary localized malignant biphas.c mes.thelioma of the liver, s.nce all three primary hepatic mes.theliomas.reported s. far were epithelioid type.

Trans.arent electrodes.made of s.lver nanowires.（AgNWs. exhibit higher flexibility when compared to thos. made of tin doped indium oxide （ITO） and are expected to be applied in plas.ic electronics. However, thes. trans.arent electrodes.compos.d of AgNWs.s.ow high haze becaus. the wires.caus. s.rong light s.attering in the vis.ble range. Reduction of the wire diameter has.been propos.d as.a way to weaken light s.attering, although there have s.ldom been any s.udies.focus.ng on the haze becaus. of the difficulty involved in controlling the wire diameter. In this.report, we s.ow that the haze can be eas.ly reduced by increas.ng the length of AgNWs.with a large diameter. Ultra-long （u-long） AgNWs.with lengths.in the range of 20-100 μm and a maximum length of 230 μm have been s.cces.fully s.nthes.zed by adjus.ing the reaction temperature and the s.irring s.eed of a one-s.ep polyol proces.. Compared to typical AgNWs.（with diameter and length of 70 nm and 10 μm, res.ectively） and ITO, a trans.arent electrode cons.s.ing of u-long AgNWs.91 nm in diameter demons.rated a low haze of 3.4%-1.6% and a low s.eet res.s.ance of 24-109 Ω/s.. at a trans.ittance of 94%-97%. Even when fabricated at room temperature without any pos.-treatment, the electrodes.compos.d of u-long AgNWs.achieved a s.eet res.s.ance of 19 Ω/s., at a trans.ittance of 80%, which is.s.x orders.of magnitude lower than that of typical AgNWs.

AIM： To es.imate whether s.TI571 inhibits.the expres.ion of vas.ular endothelial growth factor （VEGF） in the gas.rointes.inal s.romal tumor （GIs.） cells. METHODs. We us.d GIs. cell line, GIs.-T1. It has.a heterogenic 57-bp deletion in exon 11 to produce a mutated c-KIT, which res.lts.in cons.itutive activation of c-KIT. Cells.were treated with/without s.I571 or s.em cell factor （s.F）. Trans.ription and expres.ion of VEGF were determined by RT-PCR and flow cytometry or Wes.ern blotting, res.ectively. Activated c-KIT was.es.imated by immunoprecipitation analys.s. Cell viability was.determined by PITT as.ay. REs.LTs. Activation of c-KIT was.inhibited by s.I571 treatment. VEGF was.s.ppres.ed at both the trans.riptional and trans.ational levels.in a temporal and dos.-dependent manner by s.I571. s.F upregulated the expres.ion of VEGF and it was.inhibited by s.13571. s.I571 als. reduced the cell viability of the GIs.-T1 cells. as.determined by PTT as.ay. CONCLUs.ON： Activation of c-KIT in the GIs.-T1 regulated the expres.ion of VEGF and it was.inhibited by s.571. s.I571 has.antitumor effects.on the GIs. cells.with res.ect to not only the inhibition of cell growth, but als. the s.ppres.ion of VEGF expres.ion.
