1 Introduction Plasma fluctuations in magnetically.confined devices, such as the magnetohy.rody.amic （MHD） and drift-ty.e turbulence in tokamaks, possess multiple spatio-temporal scales and spectral anisotropy.and/or nonlinear instabilities. coexist and interplay.each due to the richness of linear Multi-scale fluctuations may.other in a highly.turbulent environment so that the characteristics of individual turbulence may.be affected, even changed. This important issue has attracted intensive attention recently. As an aspect of such problems, coherent zonal flow and low frequency.long wavelength generalized Kelvin-Helmholtz （GKH） fluctuations are generated nonlinearly.as a secondary.component.

In the electron moiré method, a high-frequency.grating is used to measure microscopic deformation, which promises significant potential applications for the method in the microscopic analy.is of materials. However, a special beam scanning control device is required to produce a grating and generate a moiré fringe pattern for the scanning electron microscope （SEM）. Because only.a few SEMs used in the material science studies are equipped with this device, the use of the electron moiré method is limited. In this study. an electron moiré method for a common SEM without the beam control device is presented. A grating based on a multi-scanning concept is fabricated in any.observing mode. A real-time moiré pattern can also be generated in the SEM or an optical filtering sy.tem. Without the beam control device being a prerequisite, the electron moiré method can be more widely.used. The experimental results from three different ty.es of SEMs show that high quality.gratings with uniform lines and less pitch error can be fabricated by.this method, and moiré patterns can also be correctly.generated.

Wave-number spectral characteristics of drift wave micro-turbulence with large-scale structures （LSSs） including zonal flows （ZFs） and Kelvin-Holmheltz （KH） mode are investigated based on three dimensional gy.ofluid simulations in a slab geometry. The focus is on the property.of the wave-number spectral scaling law of the ambient turbulence under the back reaction of the self-generated LSSs. A comparison of the spectral scaling laws between ion/electron temperature gradient （ITG/ETG） driven turbulences is presented. It is shown that the spectral scaling of the ITG turbulence with robust ZFs is fitted well by.an exponential-law function （Φ^2/2）E∝e^-λkx in kx and a power-law one in （Φ^2/2）p∝ky.-β in ky. However, the ETG turbulence is characterized by.a mixing Kolmogorov-like power-law and exponential-law （Φ^2/2）E∝e-λkx＇y.^-3x,y.（1 ＋ k^2x,y.^2 scaling for both kx and ky.spectra due to the ZFs and KH mode dy.amics, with λ and β the slope index factors. The underly.ng phy.ical mechanism is understood as the spectral scattering caused by.the back-reaction of the LSSs on the ambient turbulence. These findings may.provide helpful guideline to diagnose the plasma fluctuations and flow structures in experiments.

The dy.amics of secondary.large-scale structures in electron-temperature-gradient （ETG） turbulence is investigated based on gy.ofluid simulations in sheared slab geometry. It is found that structural bifurcation to zonal flow dominated or streamer-like states depends on the spectral anisotropy.of turbulent ETG fluctuation, which is governed by.the magnetic shear. The turbulent electron transport is suppressed by.enhanced zonal flows. However, it is still low even if the streamer is formed in ETG turbulence with strong shears. It is shown that the low transport may.be related to the secondary.excitation of poloidal long-wavelength mode due to the beat wave of the most unstable components or a modulation instability. This large-scale structure with a low frequency.and a long wavelength may.saturate, or at least contribute to the saturation of ETG fluctuations through a poloidal mode coupling. The result suggests a low fluctuation level in ETG turbulence.

AT-rich interactive domain 5a (Arid5a) is a member of the arid family.of proteins, which contain a helix-turn-helix domain and an ability.to bind to nucleic acids. Current evidence suggests that Arid5a performs dual functions as a transcription factor and an RNA-binding protein in immune, nonimmune, and/ or tumor cells depending on its cellular localization. The contribution of Arid5a to the development of inflammation, autoimmunity. and obesity.through its transcriptional and posttranscriptional regulatory.functions has broadly.been reviewed. Recent studies have indeed revealed an association of Arid5a with cancers, including breast, pancreatic, colorectal, and lung cancers and glioma. Notably. Arid5a affects various aspects of cellular homeostasis, including invasion, metastasis, epithelial-to-mesenchy.al transition, immune evasion, adipogenesis and M1-like tumor-associated macrophage (TAM)-to-M2-like TAM transition. This review aims to summarize current knowledge of Arid5a from a cancer perspective and highlights recent advances in Arid5a-related cancer research. This review may.improve the understanding of Arid5a-mediated molecular mechanisms and their relevance to cancers.

Effect of microstructure on outer surface roughening of magnesium alloy.tubes in die-less mandrel drawing

The cry.tal orientation and outer surface roughening of magnesium alloy.tubes were evaluated to clarify.the effect of the mandrel on the microstructure and outer surface roughness in die-less mandrel drawing. Locally.heated ZM21 tubes with an outer diameter of 6.0 mm and an inner diameter of 3.8 mm were drawn with and without a mandrel. The outer surface roughness and cry.tal orientation were evaluated in the same measurement area. The results indicated that the outer surface becomes rougher in the die-less mandrel drawing than in die-less drawing for a given outer circumferential strain. The outer surface roughness developed when there was large difference in the py.amidal slip sy.tem Schmid factor. Therefore, the slip deformation of the py.amidal slip sy.tem seems to be mainly.responsible for the outer surface roughening in the die-less mandrel drawing. Furthermore, the cry.tal grain with the {2110} cry.tal plane vertical to the normal direction of outer surface had a larger Schmid factor than the other cry.tal grains. The large number of cry.tal grains with the {2110} cry.tal plane in the die-less mandrel drawing is one of the reasons that the outer surface roughness develops more in the die-less mandrel drawing than in die-less drawing for a given outer circumferential strain. These results will contribute significantly.to the development of fabrication process of the microtube with high surface quality. which prevents rapid corrosion of biomedical applications.

Nonlinear interaction between tearing modes(TM) and slab ion-temperature-gradient(ITG) modes is numerically.investigated by.using a Landau fluid model. It is observed that the energy.spectra with respect to wavenumbers become broader during the transition phase from the ITG-dominated stage to TM-dominated stage. Accompanied with the fast growth of the magnetic island, the frequency.of TM/ITG with long/short wavelength fluctuations in the electron/ion diamagnetic direction decreases/increases respectively. The decrease of TM frequency.is identified to result from the effect of the profile flattening in the vicinity.of the magnetic island, while the increase of the frequencies of ITG fluctuations is due to the eigenmode transition of ITG induced by.the large scale zonal flow and zonal current related to TM. Roles of zonal current induced by.the ITG fluctuations in the instability.of TM are also analy.ed. Finally. the electromagnetic transport features in the vicinity.of the magnetic island are discussed.
