Biological evaluation of some important medicinal plants from Poonch valley, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan

OBJECTIVE:To estimate the phytochemical composition,antioxidant,antifungal,cytotoxic and phytotoxic activities of three important medicinal plants of Poonch valley,Azad Kashmir ***:Phytochemicals were investigated for both qualitative(phenols,flavonoids,alkaloids and saponins)and quantitative(total phenolic and flavonoid contents)analysis of plant extracts prepared in ethanol,ethyl acetate and ***,antioxidant potential was investigated by screening botanical extracts against 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl scavenging assay,phosphomolybdenum and total reducing power ***,disc diffusion method was used for determination of antifungal potential of all extracts against four pathogenic ***,brine shrimp cytotoxicity assay was conducted for cytotoxic potential and radish seed germination assay was carried out for estimation of allelopathic potential of plant ***:Phytochemical evaluation showed the presence of phenolics,flavonoids,alkaloids and saponins in almost all *** addition to significant antioxidant potential,Rubia cordifolia(ethanolic extract)revealed highest amount of phenolics and *** said plant also exhibited good cytotoxic *** plant extracts highest antifungal activity and allelopathic potential was recorded by Oxalis latifolia(ethyl acetate extract).Ethanol and ethyl acetate were observed to be the best choice of *** best solvents-based results were obtained by Ethanol followed by Ethyl acetate and ***:For further studies,Rubia cordifolia and Oxalis latifolia are the most promising medicinal plants of Poonch valley,Azad Kashmir Pakistan at molecular level in order to isolate the compounds concerning with pronounced activities.

Lactobionic Acid as a New Synergist in Combination with Phosphonate-Zn(Ⅱ)System for Corrosion Inhibition of Carbon Steel

Studies on lactobionic acid introduced as a synergist in the presence of phosphonobutane-1,2,4-tricarboxylic acid （PBTC） and zinc ions for corrosion control of carbon steel in aqueous environment are presented. The investigations revealed that lactobionic acid （LBA） acts as an excellent synergist in corrosion inhibition. Optimum concentrations of all the three components of the ternary formulation are established by gravimetric studies. Potentiodynamic polarization studies indicate that the new ternary system is a mixed inhibitor. Impedance studies show that a protective film is formed on the metal surface in the presence of the inhibitor formulation. The film is found to exhibit its protective nature even at higher temperatures up to 60 ~C. Analysis of the protective film by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS） and reflection absorption Fourier transform infrared （FTIR） spectroscopy infers the presence of Zn（OH）2, oxides and hydroxides of iron and the inhibitor molecules in the surface film probably in the form of a complex, [Zn（II）-PBTC-LBA]. The morphological studies by scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and the topographical studies by atomic force microscopy （AFM） also indicate the presence of protective film on the metal surface. A plausible mechanism of corrosion inhibition is proposed.

Colorectal cancer resection rates in patients with inflammatory bowel disease:a population-based study

Astragalin and rutin restore gut microbiota dysbiosis, alleviate obesity and insulin resistance in high-fat diet-fed C57BL/6J mice

In the present study we investigated the impact of the combination of astragalin and rutin(CAR)on restoring gut-microbial dysbiosis and obesity and obesity related *** male C57BL/6J mice were experimentally divided into 5 groups and fed either a normal diet or a high-fat diet(HFD)for 16 *** to vehicle treated group(HFD group),CAR could substantially improve selected gut microbiota abundance(Akkermansia,Lactobacillus,Bifidobacteria,Roseburia,Prevotella),reversed the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes proportions,and inhibited the growth of Escherichia coli,Salmonella,and Klebsiella in obese *** addition,CAR-treated mice showed significantly increased total short-chain fatty acid production,reduced body weight gain,organs’weights,serum lipid profile(except HDL)and insulin *** mRNA expressions of CCAAT/enhancer binding protein-α(C/EBP-α),sterol regulatory element-binding protein-1c(SREBP-1c),peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ(PPAR-γ),acetyl-CoA carboxylase(ACC),adipocyte protein 2(aP2),and fatty acid synthase(FAS)were downregulated(P<0.05)and the protein expression of PPAR-γwas downregulated while adenosine 5’monophosphate-activated protein kinase(AMPK)was phosphorylated in CAR-treated HFD-fed mice compared to the HFD control ***,CAR-treated HFD-fed mice showed significantly improved tissue architecture in the liver and fatty *** conclusion,the findings suggest that CAR/Moringa oleifera may be beneficial in the treatment of insulin resistance and obesity disorders.

Conventional approach of dealing with more users per coverage area in cellular networks implies densifying the amount of(Access Point)AP which will eventually result in a larger carbon *** this paper,we propose a base station off-loading and cell range extension(CRE)scheme based on multi-hop device-to-device(MHD2D)path selection between transmitter and receiver *** paper also provides derivations of upper and lower bounds for energy efficiency,capacity,and transmit *** proposed path selection scheme is inspired by the foraging behavior of honey *** present the algorithm as a modified variant of the artificial bee colony algorithm(MVABC).The proposed optimization problem is modeled as a minimization problem where we optimize the Energy Efficiency(EE).The proposed path selection MVABC is compared with the Genetic Algorithm(GA)and also with classical artificial bee colony(ABC)through simulations and statistical *** student’s t-test,p-value,and standard error of means(SEM)clearly show that MVABC based path selection out-performs the GA and classical ABC *** based approach is 66%more efficient when compared with classic ABC and about 62%efficient when compared with GA based scheme.

The simultaneous advances in the Internet of Things(IoT),Artificial intelligence(AI)and Robotics is going to revolutionize our world in the near *** recent years,LoRa(Long Range)wireless powered by LoRaWAN(LoRa Wide Area Network)protocol has attracted the attention of researchers for numerous applications in the IoT *** is a low power,unlicensed Industrial,Scientific,and Medical(ISM)bandequipped wireless technology that utilizes a wide area network protocol,i.e.,LoRaWAN,to incorporate itself into the network *** this paper,we have evaluated the LoRaWAN communication protocol for the implementation of the IoT(Internet of Things)nodes’communication in a forest *** outdoor performance of LoRa wireless in LoRaWAN,i.e.,the physical layer,has been evaluated in the forest area of Kashirampur Uttarakhand,***,the present paper aims towards analyzing the performance level of the LoRaWAN technology by observing the changes in Signal to Noise Ratio(SNR),Packet Reception Ratio(PRR)and Received Signal Strength Indicator(RSSI),with respect to the distance between IoT *** article focuses on estimating network lifetime for a specific set of LoRa configuration parameters,hardware selection and power *** the experimental results,it has been observed that transmissions can propagate to a distance of 300 m in the forest environment,while consuming approx.63%less energy for spreading factor 7 at 2 dBm,without incurring significant packet loss with PRR greater than 80%.

Rizatriptan benzoate is a 5HT 1B/1Dreceptor agonist which is prescribed for the treatment of *** the present study new,simple,specific ultraviolet spectrophotometric method for rizatriptan benzoate was developed and *** degradation studies were carried out in acidic,alkaline and neutral pH *** absorbance maxima peak was found to be 224 nm and linearity was observed in the concentration range of 0.5~2.5μg·mL-1 with regression coefficient value of 0.998 *** method was validated and found to be *** percent recovery for rizatriptan benzoate was found to be 98.576±*** bulk drug was found to be stable in neutral and acidic pH conditions but got degraded in 1N NaOH solution.
