Insight is here provided into the socio-economic a.d technica. cha.a.teristics of ca.tle production in the Ndé Division (West Ca.eroon region). Using a.semi-structured questionna.re, informa.ion on the a.tivity wa. a.sessed following onsite visits a.d interviewing breeders. Through a.ra.dom sa.pling scheme, 110 breeders in the four subdivisions of the Ndé Division were sha.owed. The ma.ority (98.18%) of breeders were men a.ed 20 to 40 a.d ma.ried (91.82%). They belong to the Mbororo ethnic group, ha.ing cumula.ed more tha. 10 yea.s in the a.tivity. Most respondents (50.91%) did not a.tend school a.d ea.n their living ma.nly from livestock (78.18%). Ca.tle were ra.sed for sa.e a.d to feed the breeder’s fa.ily (77.27%). The ma.n mode of a.quisition of a.ima.s wa. through inherita.ce (81.82%). The ca.tle breeds were mostly ma.e up of white Fula.i (70%), living in priva.e fa.ms using a.combina.ion of sta.e a.d ba.bed wires (67.27%) a. fences. The combina.ion of na.ura. fodder a.d cooking sa.t wa. used by most breeders (59.09%) a. a.da.ly ra.ion. Reproduction wa. by na.ura. ma.ing (97.07%). Pa.a.ites (interna. a.d externa.) a.d foot-a.d-mouth disea.e were the ma.n disea.es reported by the ma.ority of fa.mers. Self-trea.ment (50%) wa. the ma.n prophyla.tic mea.ure ta.en by fa.mers in ca.e of disea.e symptoms. Ca.tle herders fa.ed severa. cha.lenges, such a. insufficient pa.ture (67.27%), a.ro-pa.tora. conflicts (76.36%) a.d disea.es (90.91%). Ca.tle breeding wa. ra.her a.widesprea. a.tivity with no pa.ticula. restriction.

Cenozoic sediments form extensive outcrops in the Niger Delta.Ba.in. Deta.led pa.ynostra.igra.hic study wa. underta.en a.ross Pa.eogene sequences exposed in Bende–Umua.ia.a.ea.in up-dip sectors of the Niger Delta.Ba.in, southea.tern Nigeria. to esta.lish different pa.ynomorphs a.sembla.e zones, with their corresponding *** a.a.ysis wa. ca.ried out on 27 selected outcrop sa.ples, using the conventiona. ma.era.ion technique for recovering a.id-insoluble orga.ic-wa.led microfossils from sediments. Three Cenozoic lithostra.igra.hic units, including Imo Forma.ion, a.eki Forma.ion, a.d Ogwa.hi Forma.ion, a.e exposed in the study a.ea. Lithologies a.e sa.dstone, ca.bona.eous sha.e, mudstone, limestone, a.d the lignite. a.tota. of 65 species of sporomorphs a.d 51 dinofla.ella.e cysts were identified. The recovered spores a.d pollen gra.ns were used to esta.lish six informa. pa.ynomorph a.sembla.e zones, la.eled a. zone a.– zone F, ba.ed on the first a.d the la.t occurrences of two or more species. These pa.ynomorph a.sembla.e zones include:(1) zone a.— middle Pa.eocene Sca.ra.riporites simpliformis–Bomba.idites a.na. zone;(2) zone B — la.e Pa.eocene Foveotricolporites cra.siexinus–Ma.ritidiites cra.siexinus zone;(3) zone C — ea.ly Eocene Stria.opollis ca.a.umbus–Momipites a.rica.us zone;(4) zone D — middle Eocene Ma.gocolporites umua.ia.nsis–Gemma.tepha.ocolporites brevicolpites zone;(5)zone E — la.e Eocene Cica.ricosisporites dorogensis–Perfotricolpites nigeria.us zone;a.d,(6) zone F — Oligocene–ea.ly Miocene Verruca.osporites usmensis–Ma.na.tria.ites howa.dii zone.
