Attempts have been made to use cell transplantation and biomaterials to promote cell proliferation,differentiation,migration,and survival,as well as angiogenesis,in the context of brain ***,whether bioactive materials can repair the damage caused by ischemic stroke by activating endogenous neurogenesis and angiogenesis is still *** this study,we applied chitosan gel loaded with basic fibroblast growth factor to the stroke cavity 7 days after ischemic stroke in *** gel slowly released basic fibroblast growth factor,which improved the local microenvironment,activated endogenous neural stem/progenitor cells,and recruited these cells to migrate toward the penumbra and stroke cavity and subsequently differentiate into neurons,while enhancing angiogenesis in the penumbra and stroke cavity and ultimately leading to partial functional *** study revealed the mechanism by which bioactive materials repair ischemic strokes,thus providing a new strategy for the clinical application of bioactive materials in the treatment of ischemic stroke.

To the Editor : Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer(BCLC) Stage C hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) with vascular invasion has been considered unresectable. However, the curative rate from systemic treatment is rather dismal. Even with the use of immunotherapy, complete remission is less than 10% [ 1 ]. On the contrary, recent advances in transplant oncology, especially in the application of liver transplant-related surgical techniques in complex liver resections, make the operation possible for patients with locally advanced HCC who were previously considered to be unresectable [ 2 ]. We hereby present the surgical management of a patient with giant HCC in right liver lobe with inferior vena cava(IVC) invasion.

Minqin County in northwestern China is highly affected by *** have been initiated in recent decades to combat desertification in *** assess the effectiveness of these campaigns,this study used a dense Landsat time series from 1987 to 2017 to investigate the interannual dynamics of vegetation coverage and greenness over the past 31 ***,this study applied an advanced technology to reconstruct a high-quality Landsat annual time ***,one image in the vegetation-peak season was selected as the base image in each year,and then problematic pixels were interpolated by the neighborhood similar pixel interpolator using ancillary images in the same ***,the land cover map and the enhanced vegetation index(EVI)were derived from all reconstructed ***,the change of vegetation coverage and EVI values over the 31 years were *** results show that the total vegetation coverage and greenness increased during the 31 *** this change trend to other factors suggests that vegetation in Minqin County is highly affected by agriculture and groundwater supply rather than by *** mitigate desertification in a sustainable way,agriculture should be well managed to avoid overconsumption of natural resources such as underground water.

Objective:To determine the current insecticide resistance status of Aedes(Ae.)aegypti and *** to four insecticides,namely 0.05%deltamethrin,0.75%permethrin,5%malathion and 0.25%pirimiphos-methyl using the World Health Organisation(WHO)susceptibility test ***:Adult bioassays were carried out using the standard protocol of the World Health *** F1 generation urban and suburban field strains of *** and *** were tested against pyrethroid and organophosphate insecticides,including the presence of piperonyl butoxide(PBO)in four replicates of 25 non-blood-fed female mosquitoes ranging from 3 to 5 days *** Vector Control Research Unit(VCRU)laboratory strain served as a reference ***:In this study,0.05%deltamethrin demonstrated a lower value of knockdown time when 50%of the mosquito population died(KT50)and knockdown time when 95%of the mosquito population died(KT95),which is significantly more effective compared to 0.75%permethrin against adult female ***(urban and suburban)and ***(urban and suburban)(ANOVA,P<0.01).Meanwhile,5%malathion was a more effective insecticide,amounting to the shorter KT50 and KT95 compared to 0.25%pirimiphos-methyl against ***(urban and suburban)and ***(urban and suburban).*** urban and *** suburban performed a higher resistance ratio(RR)towards both 0.05%deltamethrin and 0.75%permethrin due to the wide use of permethrin in dengue vector control programs in ***,*** urban and suburban have lower resistance than *** urban and suburban towards 0.05%deltamethrin and 0.75%permethrin at 24 hours *** addition of PBO with these insecticides successfully reduced knockdown time(KT50 and KT95)values of most of the *** and *** field strains except PBO+0.75%permethrin against *** ***:The addition of PBO to insecticides has significantly reduced the knockdown time(KT50

Intraocular pressure elevation can induce retinal ganglion cell death and is a clinically reversible risk factor for glaucoma,the leading cause of irreversible *** previously demonstrated that casein kinase-2 inhibition can promote retinal ganglion cell survival and axonal regeneration in rats after optic nerve *** investigate the underlying mechanism,in the current study we increased the intraocular pressure of adult rats to 75 mmHg for 2 hours and then administered a casein kinase-2 inhibitor(4,5,6,7-tetrabromo-2-azabenzimidazole or 2-dimethylamino-4,5,6,7-tetrabromo-1H-benzimidazole)by intravitreal *** found that intravitreal injection of 4,5,6,7-tetrabromo-2-azabenzimidazole or 2-dimethylamino-4,5,6,7-tetrabromo-1H-benzimidazole promoted retinal ganglion cell survival and reduced the number of infiltrating *** analysis showed that the mitogen activated protein kinase signaling pathway was involved in the response to intraocular pressure elevation but was not modulated by the casein kinase-2 ***,casein kinase-2 inhibition downregulated the expression of genes(Cck,Htrsa,Nef1,Htrlb,Prph,Chat,Slc18a3,Slc5a7,Scn1b,Crybb2,Tsga10ip,and Vstm21)involved in intraocular pressure *** data indicate that inhibition of casein kinase-2 can enhance retinal ganglion cell survival in rats after acute intraocular pressure elevation via macrophage inactivation.
