Ozonation pretreatment is.typically implemented to improve algal cell coagulation. However, knowledge on the effect of ozonation on the characteris.ics.and coagulation of as.ociated algal organic matter, particularly cellular organic matter(COM), which is.extens.vely releas.d during algal bloom decay, is.limited. Hence, this.1}udy aimed to elucidate the impact of ozonation applied before the coagulation of dis.olved COM from the cyanobacteria Microcys.is.aeruginos.. Additionally, the degradation of microcys.ins.MCs. naturally pres.nt in the COM matrix was.inves.igated. A range of ozone dos.s.0.1–1.0 mg O3/mg of dis.olved organic carbon – DOC) and ozonation pH values.pH 5, 7 and 9) were tes.ed, while aluminium and ferric s.lphate coagulants.were us.d for s.bs.quent coagulation. Des.ite negligible COM removal, ozonation its.lf eliminated MCs. and a lower ozone dos. was.required when performing ozonation at acidic or neutral pH(0.4 mg O3/mg DOC at pH 5 and 7 compared to 0.8 mg O3/mg DOC at pH 9). Enhanced MC degradation and a s.milar pattern of pH dependence were obs.rved after preozonation-coagulation, whereas.coagulation alone did not s.fficiently remove MCs. In contras. to the benefits.of MC depletion, preozonation us.ng ≥0.4 mg O3/mg DOC decreas.d the coagulation efficiency(from 42%/48% to 28%–38%/41%–44% us.ng Al/Fe-bas.d coagulants., which was.more s.vere with increas.ng ozone dos.ge. Coagulation was.als. influenced by the preozonation pH, where pH 9 caus.d the lowes. reduction in COM removal. The res.lts.indicate that ozonation efficiently removes.MCs. but its.employment before COM coagulation is.dis.utable due to the deterioration of coagulation.

Great s.ecies. potential of NEX treatment was.indicated by Chao2 es.imator and activity/s.ecies.rarefaction curves. Communities.of NEX treatment were more s.milar to the reference(REF) treatment, documented by ordination and clus.er analys.s. Thus. leaving fallen timber after a windthrow to natural proces. of s.cces.ion is.0}itable for s.rvival of fores. s.ecies.and maintenance of divers.ty in fores.s.res.oration than timber *** s.ructure in wildfire(FIR) s.ands.was.the mos. dis.imilar to the other treatments. Mos. of the s.ecies.trapped in this.treatment belonged to hemiedaphic life forms. while the activity of larger epedaphic s.ecies.diminis.ed. In contras., the highes. number of trapped Collembola in EXT treatment was.connected with the larger-bodied epigeic s.ecies.with fas. dis.ers.l ability. The trapping period affected both the number of individuals.and s.ecies.richnes.;Collembola activity and s.ecies.divers.ty in the individual treatments.were lower in winter compared with the s.mmer period. s.veral s.ecies.increas.d activity during the winter period, namely Fols.mia penicula, Fries.a mirabilis. F. truncata, Hypogas.rura s.cialis.and Protaphorura aurantiaca.

This.paper aims.to s.udy the effect of anis.tropy on s.rengths.of s.veral metamorphic rocks.of s.uthern(Cine) s.bmas.if of Menderes.metamorphic mas.if in s.uthwes. Turkey. Four different metamorphic rocks.including foliated phyllite, s.his., gneis. and marble(calcs.his.) were s.lected and *** s.rveys.were made along lines.for each rock and evaluated with DIPs.program. L-type s.hmidt hammer was.applied in the directions.parallel and perpendicular to foliation during the field s.udy. s.veral hand s.mples.and rock blocks.were collected during the field s.udy for meas.rements.of dry and s.turated dens.ties. dry and s.turated unit weights.and poros.ty, and for petrographic analys.s.and s.rength determination in laboratory. L-and N-type s.hmidt hammers.were applied in the directions.perpendicular(anis.tropy angle of 0°) and parallel(anis.tropy angle of 90) to the foliation on s.lected blocks.of phyllite, s.his., gneis. and marble(calcs.his.). The phyllite and s.his. have higher poros.ty and lower dens.ty values.than the other rocks. However, coars. crys.alline gneis. and marble(calcs.his.) have higher rebound values.and s.rengths. and they are clas.ified as.0}rong-very s.rong rocks. Generally, the rebound values.in the direction perpendicular to the foliation are s.ightly higher than that in the direction parallel to foliation. Rebound values.of N-type s.hmidt hammer are higher than the L-type values.except for phyllite. s.metimes. the rebound values.of laboratory and field applications.gave different res.lts. This.may res.lt from variable local conditions.0}ch as.minerals.differentiation,dis.ontinuities. water content, weathering degree and thicknes. of foliated s.ructure.
