Pulmonary Edema and Pleural Effusion Detection Using Efficient Net-V1-B4 Architecture and AdamW Optimizer from Chest X-Rays Images

This paper presents a novelmulticlass systemdesigned to detect pleural effusion and pulmonary edema on chest Xray images,addressing the critical need for early detection in healthcare.A new comprehensive dataset was formed by combining 28,309 samples from the ChestX-ray14,PadChest,and CheXpert databases,with 10,287,6022,and 12,000 samples representing Pleural Effusion,Pulmonary Edema,and Normal cases,***,the preprocessing step involves applying the Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization(CLAHE)method to boost the local contrast of the X-ray samples,then resizing the images to 380×380 dimensions,followed by using the data augmentation *** classification task employs a deep learning model based on the EfficientNet-V1-B4 architecture and is trained using the AdamW *** proposed multiclass system achieved an accuracy(ACC)of 98.3%,recall of 98.3%,precision of 98.7%,and F1-score of 98.7%.Moreover,the robustness of the model was revealed by the Receiver Operating Characteristic(ROC)analysis,which demonstrated an Area Under the Curve(AUC)of 1.00 for edema and normal cases and 0.99 for *** experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposedmulti-class system,which has the potential to assist clinicians in timely and accurate diagnosis,leading to improved patient ***,ablation-CAM visualization at the last convolutional layer portrayed further enhanced diagnostic capabilities with heat maps on X-ray images,which will aid clinicians in interpreting and localizing abnormalities more effectively.

Reducing the production costs of clean energy carriers such as hydrogen through scalable water electrolysis is a potential solution for advancing the hydrogen *** the various material candidates,our group demonstrated transition-metal-based materials with tunable electronic characteristics,various phases,and ***,electrochemical water oxidation using Cu_(2)Se-V_(2)O_(5) as a non-precious metallic electrocatalyst via a hydrothermal approach is *** water-splitting performance of all the fabricated electrocatalysts was evaluated after direct growth on a stainless-steel *** electrochemically tuned Cu_(2)Se-V_(2)O_(5) catalyst exhibited a reduced overpotential of 128 mV and provided a reduced Tafel slope of 57 mV·dec^(−1) to meet the maximum current density of 250 ma·cm^(−2).The optimized strategy for interfacial coupling of the fabricated Cu_(2)Se-V_(2)O_(5) catalyst resulted in a porous structure with accessible active sites,which enabled adsorption of the intermediates and afforded an effective charge transfer rate for promoting the oxygen evolution ***,the combined effect of the catalyst components provided long-term stability for over 110 h in an alkaline solution,which makes the catalyst promising for large-scale practical *** aforementioned advantages of the composite catalyst overcome the limitations of low conductivity,agglomeration,and poor stability of the pure catalysts(Cu2Se and V2O5).

Fly ash,as a byproduct of municipal solid waste incineration,contains several kinds of pollutants,especially dissolvable salts that cause a severe challenge for fly ash *** combined with cement kiln co-processing for fly ash disposal has been applied in *** washing,the wastewater was evaporated to produce fly ash salt(FAS).In this study,FAS was mixed the KCl and LiCl to be used as molten chloride salt for energy storage ***-three types of molten salts with various ratios of FAS-KCl-LiCl were *** properties(melting point and latent heat)and thermal stability of these salts were *** increase in FAS fraction decreased the latent heat of molten *** the tested samples,the best compatibility ratio of FAS:KCl:LiCl was 10:50:40(%,in weight),with latent heat of 108.7 J/g and melting point of 333℃.This molten salt also showed good thermal stability after 1–13 h of thermal experiments,and the mass loss was less than 2%after 5 heating cycles at 600℃.By corrosion test,FAS-KCl-LiCl(10:50:40,%in weight)could be more safely used in vessels made of nickel-based alloy,but it might cause corrosion risk for stainless steel.
