Computational power density and interconnection between transistors have grown to be the dominant challenges for the continued scaling of complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor(CMOS)technology due to limited integration density and computing ***,we designed a novel,hardware-efficient,interconnect-free microelectromechanical 7:3 compressor using three microbeam *** resonator is configured with seven equal-weighted inputs and multiple driven frequencies,thus defining the transformation rules for transmitting resonance frequency to binary outputs,performing summation operations,and displaying outputs in compact binary *** device achieves low power consumption and excellent switching reliability even after 3 ×10^(3) repeated *** performance improvements,including enhanced computational power capacity and hardware efficiency,are paramount for moderately downscaling ***,our proposed paradigm shift for circuit design provides an attractive alternative to traditional electronic digital computing and paves the way for multioperand programmable computing based on electromechanical systems.

Simultaneous lightwave information and power transfer (SLIPT), co-existing with optical wireless communication,holds an enormous potential to provide continuous charging to remote Internet of Things (IoT) devices while ensuringconnectivity. Combining SLIPT with an omnidirectional receiver, we can leverage a higher power budget whilemaintaining a stable connection, a major challenge for optical wireless communication systems. Here, we design amultiplexed SLIPT-based system comprising an array of photodetectors (PDs) arranged in a 3 × 3 configuration. Thesystem enables decoding information from multiple light beams while simultaneously harvesting energy. The PDs canswiftly switch between photoconductive and photovoltaic modes to maximize information transfer rates and provideon-demand energy harvesting. Additionally, we investigated the ability to decode information and harvest energywith a particular quadrant set of PDs from the array, allowing beam tracking and spatial diversity. The design wasexplored in a smaller version for higher data rates and a bigger one for higher power harvesting. We report a selfpoweringdevice that can achieve a gross data rate of 25.7 Mbps from a single-input single-output (SISO) and an 85.2Mbps net data rate in a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) configuration. Under a standard AMT1.5 illumination,the device can harvest up to 87.33 mW, around twice the power needed to maintain the entire system. Our workpaves the way for deploying autonomous IoT devices in harsh environments and their potential use in spaceapplications.

Hydrogen generation and related energy applications heavily rely on the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),which faces challenges of slow kinetics and high *** electrocatalysts,particularly single-atom catalysts (SACs) on two-dimensional (2D) materials,are *** study presents a few-shot machine learning (ML) assisted high-throughput screening of 2D septuple-atomic-layer Ga_(2)CoS_(4-x)supported SACs to predict HER catalytic ***,density functional theory (DFT)calculations showed that 2D Ga_(2)CoS4is inactive for ***,defective Ga_(2)CoS_(4-x)(x=0–0.25)monolayers exhibit excellent HER activity due to surface sulfur vacancies (SVs),with predicted overpotentials (0–60 mV) comparable to or lower than commercial Pt/C,which typically exhibits an overpotential of around 50 m V in the acidic electrolyte,when the concentration of surface SV is lower than 8.3%.SVs generate spin-polarized states near the Fermi level,making them effective HER *** demonstrate ML-accelerated HER overpotential predictions for all transition metal SACs on 2D Ga_(2)CoS_(4-x).Using DFT data from 18 SACs,an ML model with high prediction accuracy and reduced computation time was *** intrinsic descriptor linking SAC atomic properties to HER overpotential was *** study thus provides a framework for screening SACs on 2D materials,enhancing catalyst design.

Gallbladder carcinoma(GBC)is the most common malignant tumor of biliary tract,with poor prognosis due to its aggressive nature and limited therapeutic *** detection of GBC is a major challenge,with most GBCs being detected accidentally during cholecystectomy procedures for gallbladder *** letter comments on the recent article by Deqing et al in the World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology,which summarized the various current methods used in early diagnosis of GBC,including endoscopic ultrasound(EUS)examination of the gallbladder for high-risk GBC patients,and the use of EUS-guided elasto-graphy,contrast-enhanced EUS,trans-papillary biopsy,natural orifice translu-minal endoscopic surgery,magnifying endoscopy,choledochoscopy,and confocal laser endomicroscopy when necessary for early diagnosis of ***,there is a need for novel methods for early GBC diagnosis,such as the use of artificial intelligence and non-coding RNA biomarkers for improved screening ***,the use of in vitro and animal models may provide critical insights for advancing early detection and treatment strategies of this aggressive tumor.

Diabetes mellitus,particularly type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM),poses a significant global health *** management strategies primarily focus on glycemic control;however,there is a growing need for comprehensive approaches addressing the complex pathophysiology of diabetes *** recent study by Attia et al explores the potential of a novel therapy combining metformin with cholecalciferol(vitamin D3)and taurine to mitigate T2DM-related complications in a rat *** findings indicate that this treatment combination improves glycemic control and reduces oxidative stress,inflammation,and lipid ***,the study is limited by a lack of safety profile data and in-depth molecular mechanism *** editorial critically highlights the study's strengths and weaknesses,compares it against other combination therapy research in T2DM,and underscores the need to explore further the mechanisms underpinning the observed therapeutic effects and investigate the safety profile of this novel approach.

The automotive industry is seeking new concepts for a continuously variabletransmission (CVT) in the driveline. One possible solution for a CVT design is half toroidaltraction drive, providing a high torque capacity with quick ratio change. An analytical study on thecontact points of the half toroidal CVT has been detailed. The shapes of the contact areas amongthe input disk, power roller and output disk are considered ellipses. Mathematical equations forestimating the torque capacity, power loss due to spin action, and contact efficiency of theelliptical contacts of the half toroidal CVT are formulated and expressed in the form of integralswhich can be readily evaluated by numerical scheme. The contact efficiency calculations of the halftoroidal CVT have been developed for the proper spin point locations under the effect of systemparameters. Numerical results are presented hi graphical forms for considered parameters, which canhelp the designer to select the proper system parameters to minimize the undesirable spin effects.
