The current study was perf.rmed to evaluate the liver f.nction status as well as molecular characterization of.the recovered worms in rats experimentally inf.cted with f. hepatica. Sixteen male Wister rats aged 30 days were randomly allocated into two groups (n = 8). The f.rst group was inf.cted orally with 15 viable encysted metacercaria of.f. hepatica per animal. The other group was kept non-inf.cted (control group). At zero time (bef.re inf.ction), the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th and 14th weeks post-inf.ction (WPI), blood and serum samples were collected via puncture of.retro-orbital plexus of.veins f.om each rat. Serum enzyme level (AST and ALT) and total protein were measured, and the serum protein prof.le was carried out using agarose gel electrophoresis. During the period of.the experiment, serum ALT and AST activities and serum total globulins signif.cantly increased while serum total proteins and albumin markedly decreased in the inf.cted group. On the 14th WPI, the data of.the electropherogram showed that globulin f.actions (α1-, β- and γ-globulin) levels were signif.cantly increased while α2-globulin was markedly decreased in the inf.cted group. The molecular analysis conf.rmed the amplif.cation of.the ITS1, ITS2 and NDI genes of.f. hepatica recovered f.om the inf.cted liver of.rats with amplicon sizes of.630, 510 and 560 bp, respectively. Sequencing of.the amplif.ed ITS gene resulted in the determination of.3 strains (PP108836, PP108837, and PP108838). Also, analysis of.the ITS2 gene resulted in obtaining 3 isolates under the accession numbers (PP109065, PP109066, and PP109067). In conclusion, f.sciolosis in the rat model is suitable f.r routine experimental inf.ctions and caused a pronounced liver dysf.nction with discharging of.the f.sciola eggs in the f.eces and the development of.adult stages in the bile ducts. f.rthermore, molecular techniques are a sensitive

The aim of.the present study was to determine the prevalence of.bovine cysticercosis in both cattle and buf.loas, in Egypt and to assess the cysticidal ef.icacy of.Balanites aegyptiaca f.uits (B. aegyptiaca) and moringa oleif.ra seeds (m. oleif.ra) extracts in experimentally inf.cted mice. The study detected the level of.tumor necrosis f.ctor (TNf.α) to monitor the immune and inf.ammatory responses of.experimentally inf.cted mice. Through meat inspection, a total number of.2125 male bovine, 2 to 5 years old, (1125 cattle and 1000 buf.loes) were examined under the authority of.Albsatine and Alwaraq of.icial abattoirs in Cairo Governorate, Egypt covering the period extended f.om march 2022 to April 2023. The overall prevalence of.the disease among bovine was 7.8% (6.31% of.cattle and 9.5% of.buf.loes). Besides, B. aegyptiaca and m. oleif.ra extracts showed cysticidal activity in experimentally inf.cted mice. A decrease in the numbers of.cysticerci was f.und in all treated mice groups, and up to 88% reduction was achieved in the B. aegyptiaca-treated group;higher than that was recorded in both m. oleif.ra (72.23%) and albendazole-treated ones (80.56%). Postmortem f.ndings proved that m. oleif.ra and B. aegyptiaca reduced cysticerci numbers comparable to a commercial anthelmintic. The study showed a signif.cant decrease (P 0.001) in TNf.α levels af.er treatment with Balanites and moringa extracts, compared with the untreated control and the albendazole-treated groups.

f.brous dysplasia(f.)is a rare,disabling skeletal disease f.r which there are no established *** evidence supports inhibiting the osteoclastogenic f.ctor receptor activator of.nuclear kappa-B ligand(RANKL)as a potential treatment *** this study,we investigated the mechanisms underlying RANKL inhibition in f. tissue and its likely indirect ef.ects on osteoprogenitors by evaluating human f. tissue pre-and post-treatment in a phase 2 clinical trial of.denosumab(NCT03571191)and in murine in vivo and ex vivo preclinical *** analysis of.human and mouse tissue demonstrated increased osteogenic maturation,reduced cellularity,and reduced expression of.the pathogenic Gαs variant in f. lesions af.er RANKL *** sequencing of.human and mouse tissue supported these *** interaction between osteoclasts and mutant osteoprogenitors was f.rther assessed in an ex vivo lesion model,which indicated that the prolif.ration of.abnormal f. osteoprogenitors was dependent on *** results f.om this study demonstrated that,in addition to its expected antiosteoclastic ef.ect,denosumab reduces f. lesion activity by decreasing f. cell prolif.ration and increasing osteogenic maturation,leading to increased bone f.rmation within *** f.ndings highlight the unappreciated role of.cellular crosstalk between osteoclasts and preosteoblasts/osteoblasts as a driver of.f. pathology and demonstrate a novel mechanism of.action of.denosumab in the treatment of.bone disease.

The CNO cycle is the main source of.energy in stars more massive than our *** process def.nes the energy production,the duration of.which can be used to determine the lif.time of.massive *** cycle is an important tool f.r determining the age of.globular *** proton capture via p+^(14)N→^(15)O+γ,at energies of.astrophysical interest,is an important process in the CNO *** this project,we apply a potential model to describe both non-resonant and resonant reactions in the channels where radiative capture occurs through electric E1 *** employed the R-matrix method to describe the ongoing reactions via m1 resonant transitions,when it was not possible to correctly reproduce the experimental data using the potential *** partial components of.the astrophysical S-f.ctor are calculated f.r all possible electric and magnetic dipole transitions in ^(15)*** linear extrapolated S-f.ctor at zero energy(S(0))agrees well with earlier reported values f.r all transition types considered in this *** on the value of.the total astrophysical S-f.ctor,depending on the collision energy,we calculate the nuclear reaction rates f.r p+^(14)N→^(15)O+γ.The computed rates agree well with the results reported in the NACRE II Collaboration and most recent existing measurements.

One-neutron stripping process between^(6)Li and^(209)Bi was studied at 28,30,and 34 meV using the in-beamγ-ray spectroscopy ***γ-γcoincident analysis clearly identif.ed twoγ-rays f.eding the ground and long-lived isomeric states,which were employed to determine the cross *** one-neutron stripping cross sections were similar to the cross sections of.complete f.sion in the^(6)Li+^(209)Bi system,but the one-neutron stripping cross sections decreased more gradually at the sub-barrier region.A coupled-reaction-channel calculation was perf.rmed to study the detailed reaction mechanism of.the one-neutron stripping process in^(6)*** calculations indicated that the f.rst excited state of.5 Li is critical in the actual one-neutron transf.r mechanism,and the valence proton of.209Bi can be excited to the low-lying excited state in(^(6)Li,^(5)Li)reaction,unlike in the(d,p)reaction.

The complete and incomplete f.sion cross sections f.r ^(6)Li+^(209)Bi were measured using the in-beamγ-ray method around the Coulomb *** cross sections of.deuteron captured)incomplete f.sion(ICf.products were re-quantif.ed experimentally f.r this reaction *** results reveal that the ICf.cross section is equivalent to that of.complete f.sion(Cf.above the Coulomb barrier and dominant near or below the Coulomb barrier.A theoretical calculation based on the continuum discretized coupled channel(CDCC)method was perf.rmed f.r the af.rementioned Cf.and ICf.cross sections;the result is consistent with the *** universal f.sion f.nction(Uf.)was also compared with the measured Cf.cross section f.r dif.erent barrier parameters,demonstrating that the Cf.suppression f.ctor is signif.cantly inf.uenced by the choice of.potential,which can ref.ect both dynamic and static ef.ects of.breakup on the f.sion process.
