Sodium Nitrate/Formamide Deep Eutectic Solvent as Flame-Retardant and Anticorrosive Electrolyte Enabling 2.6 V Safe Supercapacitors with Long Cyclic Stability

Safe operation of electrochemical capacitors(supercapacitors)is hindered by the flammability of commercial organic ***-flammable water-in-Salt(wIS)electrolytes are promising alternatives;however,they are plagued by the limited operation voltage window(typically≤2.3 V)and inherent corrosion of current ***,a novel deep eutectic solvent(DES)-based electrolyte which uses formamide(FMD)as hydrogen-bond donor and sodium nitrate(NaNO_(3))as hydrogen-bond acceptor is *** electrolyte exhibits the wide electrochemical stability window(3.14 V),high electrical conductivity(14.01 mScm^(-1)),good flame-retardance,anticorrosive property,and ultralow cost(7%of the commercial electrolyte and 2%of wIS).Raman spectroscopy and Density Functional Theory calculations reveal that the hydrogen bonds between the FMD molecules and NO_(3)^(-)ions are primarily responsible for the superior stability and *** developed NaNO_(3)/FMD-based coin cell supercapacitor is among the best-performing state-of-art DES and wIS devices,evidenced by the high voltage window(2.6 V),outstanding energy and power densities(22.77 wh kg^(-1)at 630 w kg^(-1)and 17.37 kw kg^(-1)at 12.55 wh kg^(-1)),ultralong cyclic stability(86%after 30000 cycles),and negligible current collector *** NaNO_(3)/FMD industry adoption potential is demonstrated by fabricating 100 F pouch cell supercapacitors using commercial aluminum current collectors.

Aero-Thermal Performances of Leakage Flows Injection from the Endwall Slot in Linear Cascade of High-Pressure Turbine

The existence of a gap between combustor and turbine endwall in the real gas turbine induces to the leakages phenomenon. However, the leakages could be used as a coolant to protect the endwaU surfaces from the hot gas since it could not be completely prevented. Thus, present study investigated the potential of leakage flows as a function of film cooling. In present study, the flow field at the downstream of high-pressure turbine blade has been investigated by 5-holes pitot tube. This is to reveal the aerodynamic performances under the influenced of leakage flows while the temperature measurement was conducted by thermoehromic liquid crystal （TLC）. Expe- rimental has significantly captured theaerodynamics effect of leakage flows near the blade downstream. Further- more, TLC measurement illustrated that the film cooling effectiveness contours were strongly influenced by the secondary flows behavior on the endwall region. Aero-thermal results were validated by the numerical simulation adopted by commercial sottware, ANSYS CFX 13. Both experimental and numerical simulation indicated almost similar trendinaero and also thermal behavior as the amount of leakage flows increases.

Animal models for hepatocellular carcinoma arising from alcoholic and metabolic liver diseases

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a major and increasing cause of clinical and economic burden worldwide. Now that there are effective therapies to control or eradicate viral aetiologies, the landscape of HCC is changing with alcoholic and metabolic liver diseases becoming major catalysts. The pathogenesis of HCC is complex and incompletely understood, hampering improvements in therapy. Animal models are essential tools for advancing study on the cellular and molecular processes in HCC and for screening potential novel therapies. Many models of hepatocarcinogenesis have been established using various methods including genetic engineering, chemotoxic agents and dietary manipulation to direct implantation of tumour cells. However, none of these can accurately replicate all features found in human diseases. In this review, we provide an overview of different mouse models of HCC with a particular focus on cancer arising from alcoholic liver disease, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and hereditary haemochromatosis. we also highlight their strengths and limitations and provide perspectives for future study.

In-situ stress measurements and stress change monitoring to monitor overburden caving behaviour and hydraulic fracture pre-conditioning

A coal mine in New South wales is longwall mining 300 m wide panels at a depth of 160–180 m directly below a 16–20 m thick conglomerate strata. As part of a strategy to use hydraulic fracturing to manage potential windblast and periodic caving hazards associated with these conglomerate strata,the in-situ stresses in the conglomerate were measured using ANZI strain cells and the overcoring method of stress relief. Changes in stress associated with abutment loading and placement of hydraulic fractures were also measured using ANZI strain cells installed from the surface and from underground. Overcore stress measurements have indicated that the vertical stress is the lowest principal stress so that hydraulic fractures placed ahead of mining form horizontally and so provide effective pre-conditioning to promote caving of the conglomerate strata. Monitoring of stress changes in the overburden strata during longwall retreat was undertaken at two different locations at the mine. The monitoring indicated stress changes were evident 150 m ahead of the longwall face and abutment loading reached a maximum increase of about7.5 MPa. The stresses ahead of mining change gradually with distance to the approaching longwall and in a direction consistent with the horizontal in-situ stresses. There was no evidence in the stress change monitoring results to indicate significant cyclical forward abutment loading ahead of the face. The forward abutment load determined from the stress change monitoring is consistent with the weight of overburden strata overhanging the goaf indicated by subsidence monitoring.

Alternative sources of fish oil(FO)are one of the major problems in aquaculture;therefore,the goal of the present study was to examine insect(black soldier fly larvae)oil(BSLO)as a potential replacer of fish/s oy oil in juvenile rainbow trout(initial average weight of 32±0.15 g)*** diets were formulated wherein FO(control diet)was completely replaced with either soybean oil(SO)or BSLO,and an additional BSLO-based diet supplemented with 1.5%bile acid(BSLO+BA)were fed to the fish for 10 *** performance of the BSLO fed group was similar(P>0.05)to that of the FO and SO fed groups,howeve r,the fish fed BSLO+BA diet registered the lowest growth(P0.05)affect the major nutrient content of whole-body,however,the fatty acid composition of the muscle and liver was influenced(Pwith the highest 14:0,16:0,and total saturated fatty acid detected in BSLO or BSLO+BA fed trout compared to the others(Pwere observed in eicosapentaenoic acid+docosahexaenoic acid(EPA+DHA)or total n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid(PUFA)content in muscle among the groups,whereas,the highest EPA:DHA and n-3:n-6 ratios were detected in the FO *** expression for fatty acid binding protein(fabp),fatty acid synthase(fas),and△5 desaturase in the liver was lower in FO(Pwhile BSLO+BA registered the highest△6 expression(P=0.006).Supplementation of BA in the BSLO diet increased superoxide dismutase(SOD)and catalase(CAT)activities compared to the other groups(Pw trout diet without negatively impacting growth performance,whole-body composition and nutrient retention,and modulate the expression of fatty acid metabolism-related genes in rainbow trout.

Biophysical warming patterns of an open-top chamber and its short-term influence on a Phragmites wetland ecosystem in China

Passive-warming, open-top chambers(OTCs) are widely applied for studying the effects of future climate warming on coastal wetlands. In this study, a set of six OTCs were established at a Phragmites wetland located in the Yellow River Delta of Dongying City, China. with data collected through online transmission and in-situ sensors, the attributes and patterns of realized OTCs warming are *** authors also quantified the preliminary influence of experimental chamber warming on plant *** produced an elevated average air temperature of 0.8°C(relative to controls) during the grow.ng season(June to October) of 2018, and soil temperatures actually decreased by 0.54°C at a depth of 5 cm and 0.46°C at a depth of 30 cm in the OTCs. Variations in diel patterns of warming depend greatly on the heat sources of incoming radiation in the daytime versus soil heat flux at night. warming effects were often larger during instantaneous analyses and influenced OTCs air temperatures from-2.5°C to 8.3°C dependent on various meteorological conditions at any given time, ranging from cooling influences from vertical heat exchange and vegetation to radiation-associated warming. Night-time temperature depressions in the OTCs were due to the low turbulence inside OTCs and changes in surface soilatmosphere heat transfer. Plant shoot density, basal diameter, and biomass of Phragmites decreased by23.2%, 6.3%, and 34.0%, respectively, under experimental warming versus controls, and plant height increased by 4.3%, reflecting less carbon allocation to stem structures as plants in the OTCs experienced simultaneous wind buffering. while these passive-warming OTCs created the desired warming effects both to the atmosphere and soils, pest damages on the plant leaves and lodging within the OTCs were extensive and serious, creating the need to consider control options for these chambers and the replicated OTCs studies underway in other Chinese Phragmites marshes(Panjin and Yancheng).

Prevalence and outcomes of pancreatic cystic neoplasms in liver transplant recipients

AIM To determine the prevalence,characteristics and clinical course of pancreatic cystic neoplasms(PCNs) in liver transplantation(LT) *** we retrospectively studied consecutive patients who underwent LT between January 1998 to April 2016. Clinical and laboratory data were obtained from patient medical records. Imaging findings on computed tomography and magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography were reviewed by two *** During the study period,872 patients underwent cadaveric LT. Pancreatic cysts were identified in 53/872(6.1%) and 31/53(58.5%) were PCNs [28 intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm(IPMN),2 mucinous cystic neoplasm(MCN),1 serous cystadenoma]. Patients with PCNs exhibited less male predominance(55% vs 73%,P = 0.03) compared to patients without pancreatic cysts. Thirteen patients(42%) were diagnosed with PCN pre-LT while 18 patients(58%) developed PCN post-LT. The median size of PCNs was 13 mm [interquartile range(IQR) 10-20 mm]. All IPMNs were side-branch type. Most PCNs were found in the head and body of pancreas(37% each),followed by the tail(25%). Five patients underwent further evaluation with endoscopic ultrasound. Progress imaging was performed on 81% of patients. PCNs remained stable in size and number in all but 2 patients. During a median follow up of 39 mo(IQR 26-58 mo),the 2(6%) patients with MCN underwent pancreatectomy. No PCN patient developed pancreatic adenocarcinoma,while 5 died from illnesses unrelated to the PCN. Among patients without PCN,1/841(0.1%) developed pancreatic *** The prevalence of PCNs in LT recipients was similar to the general population(3.6%,31/872). Side-branch IPMNs do not appear to have accelerated malignant potential in post-LT patients,indicating the current surveillance guidelines are applicable to this group.
