The effect of heat treatm.nt m.de on the m.crostructure of Fe-Cr-B cast iron alloys was investigated inthis paper by com.aring the difference of precipitation patterns of secondary particles after therm.l cycling treatm.nt(TCT) with those after norm.l heat treatm.nt (NHT). No obvious differences were found in precipitation patterns ofsecondary particles between TCT and NHT when experim.ntal tem.erature was below Ar1. However, whentem.erature was over Ar1, there were significant differences, with secondary particles prom.nently segregated at thegrain boundaries under TCT, while the particles evenly distributed in the m.trix under NHT. The reason for them.crostructure differences could be associated with the developm.nt of non-equilibrium.segregation of boron duringTCT.

Data assim.lation refers to the m.thodology of com.ining dynam.cal m.dels and observed data with the objective of im.roving state estim.tion. m.st data assim.lation algorithm. are viewed as approxim.tions of the Bayesian posterior(filtering distribution)on the signal given the observations. Som. of these approxim.tions are controlled, such as particle filters which m.y be refined to produce the true filtering distribution in the large particle num.er lim.t, and som. are uncontrolled, such as ensem.le Kalm.n filter m.thods which do not recover the true filtering distribution in the large ensem.le lim.t. Other data assim.lation algorithm., such as cycled 3 DVAR m.thods, m.y be thought of as controlled estim.tors of the state, in the sm.ll observational noise scenario, but are also uncontrolled in general in relation to the true filtering distribution. For particle filters and ensem.le Kalm.n filters it is of practical im.ortance to understand how and why data assim.lation m.thods can be effective when used with a fixed sm.ll num.er of particles, since for m.ny large-scale applications it is not practical to deploy algorithm. close to the large particle lim.t asym.totic. In this paper, the authors address this question for particle filters and,in particular, study their accuracy(in the sm.ll noise lim.t) and ergodicity(for noisy signal and observation) without appealing to the large particle num.er lim.t. The authors first overview the accuracy and m.norization properties for the true filtering distribution,working in the setting of conditional Gaussianity for the dynam.cs-observation m.del. They then show that these properties are inherited by optim.l particle filters for any fixed num.er of particles, and use the m.norization to establish ergodicity of the filters. For com.leteness we also prove large particle num.er consistency results for the optim.l particle filters, by writing the update equations for the underlying distributions as recursions. Testosterone deficiency is com.on in m.n with cardiovascular disease （CVD）, and random.zed placebo-controlled trials （RCTs） have reported beneficial effects of testosterone therapy on exercise-induced cardiac ischem.a in chronic stable angina, functional exercise capacity, m.xim.m.oxygen consum.tion during exercise （VO2m.x） and m.scle strength in chronic heart failure （CHF）, shortening of the Q-T interval, and im.rovem.nt of som. cardiovascular risk factors. Testosterone deficiency is associated with an adverse CV risk profile and m.rtality. Clinical and scientific studies have provided m.chanistic evidence to support and explain the findings of the RCTs. Testosterone is a rapid-onset arterial vasodilator within the coronary circulation and other vascular beds including the pulm.nary vasculature and can reduce the overall peripheral system.c vascular resistance. Evidence has dem.nstrated that testosterone m.diates this effect on vascular reactivity through calcium.channel blockade （L-calcium.channel） and stim.lates potassium.channel opening by direct nongenom.c m.chanism.. Testosterone also stim.lates repolarization of cardiac m.ocytes by stim.lating the ultra-rapid potassium.channel-operated current. Testosterone im.roves cardiac output, functional exercise capacity, VO2m.x and vagally m.diated arterial baroreceptor cardiac reflex sensitivity in CHF, and other m.chanism.. Independent of the benefit of testosterone on cardiac function, testosterone substitution m.y also increase skeletal m.scle glucose m.tabolism.and enhance m.scular strength, both factors that could contribute to the im.rovem.nt in functional exercise capacity m.y include im.roved glucose m.tabolism.and m.scle strength. Approxim.tely 30% of patients with rectal cancer present with m.tastatic disease. m.ny of these patients have sym.tom. of bleeding or obstruction. Several treatm.nt options are available to deal with the various com.lications that m.y afflict these patients. Endorectal stenting, laser ablation, and operative resection are a few of the options available to the patient with a m.lignant large bowel obstruction. A thorough understanding of treatm.nt options will ensure the patient is offered the m.st effective therapy with the least am.unt of associated m.rbidity. In this review, we describe various options for palliation of sym.tom. in patients with m.tastatic rectal cancer. Additionally, we briefly discuss treatm.nt for asym.tom.tic patients with m.tastatic disease.

Background： The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of dietary restriction and subsequent com.ensatory growth on the relative expression of genes involved in volatile fatty acid transport, m.tabolism.and cell proliferation in rum.nal epithelial tissue of beef cattle. Sixty Holstein Friesian bulls（m.an liveweight 370 ± 35 kg;m.an age 479 ± 15 d） were assigned to one of two groups：（i） restricted feed allowance（RES; n = 30） for 125 d（Period 1） followed by ad libitum.access to feed for 55 d（Period 2） or（ii） ad libitum.access to feed throughout（ADLIB; n = 30）. Target growth rate for RES was 0.6 kg/d during Period 1. At the end of each dietary period, 15 anim.ls from.each treatm.nt group were slaughtered and rum.nal epithelial tissue and liquid digesta harvested from.the ventral sac of the rum.n. Real-tim. q PCR was used to quantify m.RNA transcripts of 26 genes associated with rum.nal epithelial function. Volatile fatty acid analysis of rum.n fluid from.individual anim.ls was conducted using gas ***： Diet × period interactions were evident for genes involved in ketogenesis（BDH2, P = 0.017）, pyruvate m.tabolism.LDHa, P = 0.048; PDHA1, P = 0.015） and cellular transport and structure（DSG1, P = 0.019; CACT, P = 0.027）. Rum.nal concentrations of propionic acid（P = 0.018） and n-valeric acid（P = 0.029） were lower in RES anim.ls, com.ared with ADLIB, throughout the experim.nt. There was also a strong tendency（P = 0.064）toward a diet × period interaction for n-butyric with higher concentrations in RES anim.ls, com.ared with ADLIB, during Period ***： These data suggest that following nutrient restriction, the structural integrity of the rum.n wall is com.rom.sed and there is upregulation of genes involved in the production of ketone bodies and breakdown of pyruvate for cellular energy. Proxim.ty labeling catalyzed by prom.scuous enzym.s,such as APEX2,has em.rged as a powerful approach to characterize m.ltiprotein com.lexes and protein-protein ***,current m.thods depend on the expression of exogenous fusion proteins and cannot be applied to identify proteins surrounding post-translationally m.dified *** address this lim.tation,we developed a new m.thod to label proxim.l proteins of interest by antibody-m.diated protein A-ascorbate peroxidase 2(pA-APEX2) labeling(Am.PEX).In this m.thod,a m.dified protein is bound in situ by a specific antibody,which then tethers a pA-APEX2 fusion *** of APEX2 labels the nearby proteins with biotin;the biotinylated proteins are then purified using streptavidin beads and identified by m.ss *** dem.nstrated the utility of this approach by profiling the proxim.l proteins of histone m.difications including H3 K27 m.3,H3 K9 m.3,H3 K4 m.3,H4 K5 ac,and H4 K12 ac,as well as verifying the co-localization of these identified proteins with bait proteins by published ChIP-seq analysis and nucleosom. ***,Am.PEX is an efficient m.thod to identify proteins that are proxim.l to m.dified histones.
