It has been suggested that hepatitis C virus(HCV)is selectively transmitted to a new host as an infectious clone from multiple HCV variants(quasispecies)in the *** individuals with HCV infection develop chronic hepatitis,but approximately 15%-40%of them clear the virus spontaneously and the hepatitis is resolved in a self-limiting manner in the acute phase of *** difference in the outcome of acute hepatitis C is attributable to both viral characteristics and genetic regulation of *** particular,the evolutionary dynamics of the infecting virus and host genetic polymorphisms pertaining mainly to the immune system,including polymorphisms in the region of the Interleukin 28B gene encoding interferon-λ-3,are associated with susceptibility to HCV infection.

This paper proposes a framework for critical element identification and demolition planning of frame *** quantitative indices considering the severity of the ultimate collapse scenario are proposed using reinforcement learning and graph *** action is defined as removing an element,and the state is described by integrating the joint and element features into a comprehensive feature vector for each *** establishing the policy network,the agent outputs the Q value for each action after observing the *** numerical examples,it is confirmed that the trained agent can provide an accurate estimation of the Q values,and handle problems with different action spaces owing to utilization of graph ***,different behaviors can be learned by varying hyperparameters in the reward *** comparing the proposed method and the conventional sensitivity index-based methods,it is demonstrated that the computational cost is considerably reduced because the reinforcement learning model is trained ***,it is proved that the Q values produced by the reinforcement learning agent can make up for the deficiencies of existing indices,and can be directly used as the quantitative index for the decision-making for determining the most expected collapse scenario,i.e.,the sequence of element removals.

The vacuolar (H+)-ATPases (V-ATPases) are ATP-driven proton pumps with multiple functions in many organisms. In this study, we performed structural and functional analysis of vha55 gene that encodes V-ATPase subunit B in the smokybrown cockroach Periplaneta fuliginosa (Blattodea). We observed a high homology score of the deduced amino acid sequences between 10 species in seven orders. RNAi of the vha55 gene in R fuliginosa caused nymphal/nymphal molting defects with incomplete shedding of old cuticles, growth inhibition, as well as bent and wrinkled cuticles of thoraxes and abdominal segments. Since growth inhibition caused by vha55 RNAi did not interfere in the commencement of cockroach molting, molting timing and body growth might be controlled by independent mechanism. Our study suggested V-ATPases might be a good candidate molecule for evolutionary and developmental studies of insect molting.

The magneto-transport properties of （111）-oriented single-crystal thin films of SnTe were investigated. SnTe （111） thin films were epitaxially grown on a BaF2 substrate by molecular beam epitaxy. By optimizing the growth conditions and the thickness of the films, the bulk carrier density could be reduced, making it possible to detect the surface transport. Magneto-conductance （MC） measurements show a cusp-like feature around zero magnetic field, which is attributed to the weak-antilocalization effect of the transport in the topological surface state. Detailed analysis of this negative MC reveals a reduced number of transport channels contributing to the surface transport, suggesting strong coupling between Dirac valleys on the SnTe （111） surface, as a characteristic feature of the transport in the multivalley structure of topological crystalline insulators.

Today,much information from traffic infrastructures and sensors of ego vehicle is *** such information has a potential for internal combustion engine vehicle to reduce fuel consumption in real *** this paper,a powertrain controller for a hybrid electric vehicle aiming to reduce fuel consumption is introduced,which uses information from traffic signals,the global positioning system and sensors,and the preceding *** study was carried out as a benchmark problem of engine and powertrain control simulation and modeling 2021(E-COSM 2021).The developed controller firstly decides reference acceleration of the ego vehicle using the traffic signal and the position information and the preceding vehicle *** acceleration and deceleration leading to increase in unnecessary fuel consumption is ***,the reference engine,generator,and motor torques are decided to achieve the reference acceleration and minimize fuel *** addition,the reference engine,generator and motor torques were decided by the given fuel consumption map for the engine,and by the virtual fuel consumption maps for the generator and the *** virtual fuel consumption is derived from the efficiency maps of the generator and the motor using a given equivalent factor,which converts electricity consumption to fuel for the generator and the *** this study,a controller was designed through the benchmark problem of E-COSM 2021 for minimizing total fuel consumption of the engine,the generator,and the *** developed controller was evaluated in driving *** result shows that operating the powertrain in efficient area is a key factor in reducing total fuel consumption.

Strategic materials design is essential for the development of small-diameter,tissue-engineered vascular ***-assembled nanofibers of elastin-like polypeptides represent promising vascular graft components as they replicate the organized elastin structure of native blood ***,the bioactivity of nanofibers can be modified by the addition of functional peptide *** the present study,we describe the development of a novel nanofiber-forming elastin-like polypeptide(ELP)with an arginine-glutamic acid-aspartic acid-valine(REDV)*** biological characteristics of the REDV-modified ELP nanofibers relevant to applications in vascular grafting were compared to ELP without ligands for integrin,ELP with arginine-glycine-aspartic acid(RGD)sequence,collagen and cell culture *** them,REDV-modified ELP nanofibers met the preferred biological properties for vascular graft materials,i.e.(i)inhibition of platelet adhesion and activation,(ii)endothelial cell adhesion and proliferation and(iii)maintenance of smooth muscle cells in a contractile phenotype to prevent cell *** results indicate that REDV-modified ELP nanofibers represent promising candidates for the further development of small-diameter vascular grafts.

Approximately 20,000 ha of densely built-up areas still remain in Japan. However, the advance of improvements in these areas has been very slow. Thus, making draft improvement plans through citizen-administration partnerships is indispensable to promote improvements. The planning support tool proposed in this study supports a consensus-building process during the creation of draft improvement plans. We develop a disaster mitigation performance evaluation method （DMPEM） for built-up areas at the district level and incorporate this method into a disaster mitigation support Web-GIS. However, DMPEM requires lengthy calculation time because it uses the probabilistic Monte Carlo computation method. Using this tool in realime planning is therefore difficult. In this study, we first develop a system that reduces the calculation time required by DMPEM. Second, the support tool is used to make draft plans through citizen-administration partnerships in districts where residents are conducting various disaster mitigation activities. Finally, we investigate the usefulness of the tool for consensus building through the promotion of lively discussions among residents and clarify the issues associated with practical use of the tool.

Roles of rare earth oxide additives in millimeter-wave sintering of AlN

Roles of rare earth oxide （RE2O3） additives in millimeter-wave（MM） sintering of AIN were investigated from the standpoints of phase diagram, heating characteristics of rare earth oxides, and morphology of intergranular oxide phase. In the millimeter-wave sintering of AIN, densification temperature decreased with the decrease of the ionic radius of rare earth ion and was closely related with the eutectic temperature in the RE2Oa-Al2O3 binary system. The lowest densification temperature in the millimeter-wave sintering of AIN with Yb2O3 additive was attributed to the largest heating rate of Yb2O3-Al2O3 binary oxide under millimeter-wave radiation. Furthermore, the lowest densification temperature could be attained while selecting the Yb2O3 content so as to form the intergranular phase with the eutectic composition in the Yb2O3-Al2O3 binary system. The result showed good agreement with the above mentioned during the sintering of Si3N4 with Yb2O3-Al2O3 additive. From TEM observation, it was verified that film-like intergranular oxide phase formed under millimeter-wave radiation was favorable for attaining high thermal conductivity in the Yb2O3 added AINs.

Currently,chemotherapy is an accredited,standard treatment for unresectable,advanced pancreatic cancer(PC). However,it has been still showed treatmentresistance and followed dismal prognosis in many cases. Therefore,some sort of new,additional treatments are needed for the better therapeutic results for advanced PC. According to the previous reports,it is obvious that interventional endoscopic ultrasonography(EUS) is a well-established,helpful and low-risky procedure in general. As the additional treatments of the conventional therapy for advanced PC,many therapeutic strategies,such as immunotherapies,molecular biological therapies,physiochemical therapies,radioactive therapies,using si RNA,using autophagy have been developing in recent years. Moreover,the efficacy of the other potential therapeutic targets for PC using EUS-fine needle injection,for example,intra-tumoral chemotherapeutic agents(paclitaxel,irinotecan),several ablative energies(radiofrequency ablation and cryothermal treatment,neodymiumdoped yttrium aluminum garnet laser,high-intensity focused ultrasound),etc.,has already been showed in animal models. Delivering these promising treatments reliably inside tumor,interventional EUS may probably be indispensable existence for the treatment of locally advanced PC in near future.
