We report on an experiment performed at the FLASH2 free-electron laser(FEL)aimed at producing warm dense matter via soft x-ray isochoric *** the experiment,we focus on study of the ions emitted during the soft x-ray ablation process using time-of-flight electron multipliers and a shifted Maxwell–Boltzmann velocity distribution *** find that most emitted ions are thermal,but that some impurities chemisorbed on the target surface,such as protons,are accelerated by the electrostatic field created in the plasma by escaped *** morphology of the complex crater structure indicates the presence of several ion groups with varying *** find that the ion sound velocity is controlled by the ion temperature and show how the ion yield depends on the FEL radiation attenuation length in different materials.

In this paper,we report on polarization combining two-dimensional grating couplers(2D GCs)on amorphous Si:H,fabricated in the backend of line of a photonic BiCMOS *** 2D GCs can be used as an interface of a hybrid silicon photonic coherent transmitter,which can be implemented on bulk Si *** fabricated 2D GCs operate in the telecom C-band and show an experimental coupling efficiency of−5 dB with a wafer variation of±1.2 *** for efficiency enhancement and improved performance stability in future design generations are outlined and extension toward O-band devices is also investigated.

The effect of flutamide on the physical working capacity and activity of some of the key enzymes for the energy supply in adult rats

The aim of the study was to assess the effects of androgen receptor antagonists on the physical working capacity and activity of some of the key muscle enzymes for the energy supply in rats. Young adult male Wistar rats were divided into two groups. One group received 15 mg kg-1 of flutamide daily for 6 days a week and the other group served as control for 8 weeks. At the beginning and at the end of the experiment, all rats were subjected to submaximal running endurance （SRE）, maximum time to exhaustion （MTE）, and maximal sprinting speed （MSS） tests. At the end of the trial, maximum oxygen consumption （VO2max） test was performed and the levels of testosterone, erythrocytes, hemoglobin as well as enzyme activity of succinate dehydrogenase （SDH）, lactate dehydrogenase （LDH）, and nAD.H2-cytochrome-c reductase （nAD.H2） of the gastrocnemius muscle were measured. Serum testosterone of the flutamide-treated rats was higher than that of the controls, which verifies the effectiveness of the dose chosen. MTE and SRE of the anti-androgen-treated group were lower compared with the initial values. Flutamide treatment decreased the activity of SDH and nAD.H2 compared with the controls. We found no effect of the anti-androgen treatment on MSS, VO2max, running economy, LDH activity, and hematological variables. Our findings indicate that the maintenance of the submaximal and maximal running endurance as well as the activity of some of the key enzymes associated with muscle oxidative capacity is connected with androgen effects mediated by androgen receptors.

The nitrides of transient metals have a high hardness, thermal stability, remarkable wear resistance in aggressive chemical mediums, melted metals and alloys, high corrosion resistance, and low coefficient of electric resistance. Under the conditions of low-temperature argon plasma （LTP）, thermodynamic investigations were conducted in the process of obtaining of A1n, Tin and Si3n4 in a temperature range of 1000 K to 6000 K. To investigate the thermodynamic possibility of obtaining nitrides, a computer model was used which provided the equilibrium composition of gaseous and solid phases at different temperatures. The conditions for chemical equilibrium of the system were based on the minimization of Gibbs＇ energy.

Using vibrational infrared biomolecular spectroscopy to detect heat-induced changes of molecular structure in relation to nutrient availability of prairie whole oat grains on a molecular basis

Background： To our knowledge, there is little study on the interaction between nutrient availability and molecular structure changes induced by different processing methods in dairy cattle. The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of heat processing methods on interaction between nutrient availability and molecular structure in terms of functional groups that are related to protein and starch inherent structure of oat grains with two continued years and three replication of each ***： The oat grains were kept as raw（control） or heated in an air-draft oven（dry roasting： DO） at 120 °C for 60 min and under microwave irradiation（MIO） for 6 min. The molecular structure features were revealed by vibrational infrared molecular ***： The results showed that rumen degradability of dry matter, protein and starch was significantly lower（P 〈0.05） for MIO compared to control and DO treatments. A higher protein α-helix to β-sheet and a lower amide I to starch area ratio were observed for MIO compared to DO and/or raw treatment. A negative correlation（-0.99, P 〈 0.01）was observed between α-helix or amide I to starch area ratio and dry matter. A positive correlation（0.99, P 〈 0.01） was found between protein β-sheet and crude ***： The results reveal that oat grains are more sensitive to microwave irradiation than dry heating in terms of protein and starch molecular profile and nutrient availability in ruminants.
