Routine exposure to inorganic nanoparticles （nPs） that are incorporated into consumer products such as foods/drinks, packaging materials, pharmaceuticals, and personal care products （e.g. cosmetics, sunscreens, shampoos） occurs on a daily basis. The standard everyday use of these products facilitates interactions between the incorporated inorganic nPs, mammalian tissues （e.g. skin, gastrointestinal tract, oral cavity）, and the community of microbes that resides on these tissues. Changes to the microbiome have been linked to the initiation/ progression of many diseases and there is a growing interest focused on understanding how inorganic nPs can initiate these changes. As these mechanisms are revealed and defined, it may be possible to rationally design microbiota- modulating therapies based on inorganic nPs. In this article, we will：（i） provide a background on inorganic nPs that are commonly found in consumer products such as those that incorporate titanium, zinc, silver, silica, or iron, （ii） discuss how nP properties, microbiota composition, and the physiological microenvironment can mediate the effects that inorganic nPs have on the microbiota, and （iii） highlight opportunities for inorganic nP therapies that are designed to interact with, and navigate, the microbiome.

通过ＨＰＬＣ结合旋光光度定量的方法，探讨了流动相添加剂β－环糊精及其２，６－二甲基衍生物的吸附性质。结果表明β－环糊精在ＯＤＳ固定相上不吸附，而其２，６－二甲基衍生物则呈典型的单分子层吸附。

Background:The long-term monitoring of demographic changes in waterbird populations remains limited,but such information can be valuable for conservationists and waterbird *** sex ratios can indicate differences in survival rates between *** particular,differences in the sex ratios of fledged juveniles and adults can provide insight into the development of male bias among ***:In this study,we used data from individual birds captured over a 57-year period to assess the extent,and temporal variability in male bias in nine populations of ducks wintering in the United Kingdom:Gadwall(Mareca strepera),northern Mallard(Anas platyrhynchos),northern Pintail(Anas acuta),Common Pochard(Aythya ferina),Common Shelduck(Tadorna tadorna),northern Shoveler(Spatula clypeata),Eurasian Teal(Anas crecca),Tufted Duck(Aythya fuligula),and Eurasian Wigeon(Mareca penelope).Results:Overall,eight of these populations were significantly male-biased and adults were more male-biased than first-winter juveniles for all nine *** increased male bias among adults is consistent with the hypothesis that factors such as higher mortality of reproductive-age females during the breeding season is a major cause of male bias in duck ***,such predation cannot explain the male bias detected in first-winter juveniles in four of the *** temporal trends in male bias differed between adults and first-winter juveniles in northern Mallard,northern Pintail,Common Pochard,Common Shelduck,Eurasian Teal,Tufted Duck,and Eurasian *** the study period we found increased male bias among adult northern Mallard,northern Pintail,Common Pochard,Common Shelduck,and Tufted Duck as well as both adult and first-winter juvenile northern ***:We provide evidence that among wintering duck populations,sex ratios are typically male-biased,with adults exhibiting stronger male-biased sex ratios than first-winter *** monitoring

BACKGROUnD The study investigates the connection between academic productivity and industry earnings in foot and ankle orthopedic surgery *** metrics like the H-index and Open Payments Database(OPD)data,it addresses a gap in understanding the relationship between scholarly achievements and financial outcomes,providing a basis for further exploration in this specialized medical *** To elucidate the trends between academic productivity and industry earnings across foot and ankle orthopedic surgery fellowship programs in the United *** This study is a retrospective analysis of the relationship between academic productivity and industry earnings of foot and ankle orthopedic surgery fellowships at an individual faculty and fellowship *** productivity was defined via H-index and recorded from the Scopus *** earnings were recorded from the *** Forty-eight foot and ankle orthopedic surgery fellowships(100%of fellowships)in the United States with a combined total of 165 physicians(95.9%of physicians)were *** individual physician(n=165)total life-time earnings reported on the OPD website was United States Dollar(USD)451430.30±1851084.89(range:USD 25.16-21269249.85;median:USD 27839.80).Mean physician(n=165)H-index as reported on Scopus is 14.24±12.39(range:0-63;median:11).There was a significant but weak correlation between individual physician H-index and individual physician total life-time earnings(Pn’s rho=0.334)and a significant and moderate positive correlation between combined fellowship H-index and total life-time earnings per fellowship(P=0.004,Spearman’s rho=0.409).COnCLUSIOn There is a significant and positive correlation between academic productivity and industry earnings at foot and ankle orthopedic surgery fellowships in the United *** observation is true on an individual physician level as well as on a fellowship level.

The differences in complication rates between the direct anterior and posterior approaches for hemiarthroplasty in elderly patients with femoral neck fractures are not yet fully ***,a severe complication associated with increased mortality and often requiring additional surgery,may occur less frequently with the direct anterior approach compared to the posterior *** consideration of patient demographics is essential when planning the surgical *** research in this area should focus on robust randomized controlled trials involving elderly patients recovering from femoral neck fractures.

Background:Teamwork is essential to provide the highest quality of care for *** supported within a nursing unit is a significant factor in nursing satisfaction,intention to remain in the job,and the capacity to provide safe patient care by Aiken et al[1].Purpose:This study examined mutual support among a nursing team to measure the influence of an educational intervention focusing on Mutual Support from the Team STEPPS curriculum by Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality,AHRQ[2].Methods:The study design used a Likert scale survey,the nursing Teamwork Survey,before and following an education intervention adapted from the Team STEPPS curriculum on Mutual *** data from the 41 participants were analyzed for impact on educational background,roles and responsibilities,age,and other ***:Pre-Post education intervention results varied among the survey items,although scores demonstrated heightened awareness of teamwork following the educational *** subscale of Backup illustrated the strongest ***:The study demonstrates that education can have an impact on perceptions and awareness of mutual support among nursing team *** survey instrument can be used effectively to inform leadership areas for improvement and staff development in the effort to improve team coordination and mutual support.

The hedgehog-patched (hh-ptc) intercellular signaling pathway has recently been shown to control the proliferation of epithelial stem cells in both Drosophila and vertebrates. Mutant and ectopic expression analyses in Drosophila suggest that the HH protein diffuses from the signaling cells to promote the proliferation of nearby ovarian somatic stem cells by antagonizing the suppression of its receptor PTC towards the CI transcription factor in the stem cells. Consequently, the transcription of CIdependent genes leads to stem cell proliferation. This regulatory pathway appears to function also in vertebrates,where defects in ptc cause basal cell carcinoma, tumors of epidermal stem cell origin. Basal cell carcinoma can also be induced by ectopic expression of Sonic hedgehog (shh) or Glil, the vertebrate homolog of ci. These studies suggest the conservation of the hh signaling pathway in controlling epithelial stem cell divisions among different organisms.

The addition of surface acoustic wave(SAW)technologies to microfluidics has greatly advanced lab-on-a-chip applications due to their unique and powerful attributes,including high-precision manipulation,versatility,integrability,biocompatibility,contactless nature,and rapid ***,the development of SAW microfluidic devices is limited by complex and time-consuming micro/nanofabrication techniques and access to cleanroom facilities for multistep photolithography and vacuum-based *** simplify the fabrication of SAW microfluidic devices with customizable dimensions and functions,we utilized the additive manufacturing technique of aerosol jet *** successfully fabricated customized SAW microfluidic devices of varying materials,including silver nanowires,graphene,and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)polystyrene sulfonate(PEDOT:PSS).To characterize and compare the acoustic actuation performance of these aerosol jet printed SAW microfluidic devices with their cleanroom-fabricated counterparts,the wave displacements and resonant frequencies of the different fabricated devices were directly measured through scanning laser Doppler ***,to exhibit the capability of the aerosol jet printed devices for lab-on-a-chip applications,we successfully conducted acoustic streaming and particle concentration ***,we demonstrated a novel solution-based,direct-write,single-step,cleanroom-free additive manufacturing technique to rapidly develop SAW microfluidic devices that shows viability for applications in the fields of biology,chemistry,engineering,and medicine.
