Securing Data in Multimode Fibers by Exploiting Mode-Dependent Light Propagation Effects

In contrast to the solutions of applied mathematics to Zeno’s paradoxes, I focus on the concept of motion and show that, by distinguishing two different forms of motion, Zeno’s apparent paradoxes are not paradoxical at all. Zeno’s paradoxes indirectly prove that distances are not composed of extensionless points and, in general, that a higher dimension cannot be completely composed of lower ones. Conversely, lower dimensions can be understood as special cases of higher dimensions. To illustrate this approach, I consider Cantor’s only apparent proof that the real numbers are uncountable. However, his widely accepted indirect proof has the disadvantage that it depends on whether there is another way to make the real numbers countable. Cantor rightly assumes that there can be no smallest number between 0 and 1, and therefore no beginning of counting. For this reason he arbitrarily lists the real numbers in order to show with his diagonal method that this list can never be complete. The situation is different if we start with the largest number between 0 and 1 (0.999…) and use the method of an inverted triangle, which can be understood as a special fractal form. Here we can construct a vertical and a horizontal stratification with which it is actually possible to construct all real numbers between 0 and 1 without exception. Each column is infinite, and each number in that column is the starting point of a new triangle, while each row is finite. Even in a simple sine curve, we experience finiteness with respect to the y-axis and infinity with respect to the x-axis. The first parts of this article show that Zeno’s assumptions contradict the concept of motion as such, so it is not surprising that this misconstruction leads to contradictions. In the last part, I discuss Cantor’s diagonal method and explain the method of an inverted triangle that is internally structured like a fractal by repeating this inverted triangle at each column. Since computers and software have spread into all fields of industry, extensive efforts are currently made in order to improve the safety by applying certain numerical solutions. For many engineering problems involving shock and impact, there is no single ideal numerical method that can reproduce the various regimes of a problem. An approach wherein different techniques may be applied within a single numerical analysis can provide the ＂best＂ solution in terms of accuracy and efficiency. This paper presents a set of numerical simulations of ballistic tests which analyze the effects of soda lime glass laminates. The goal is to find an appropriate solver technique for simulating brittle materials and thereby improve bullet-proof glass to meet current challenges. To have the correct material model available is not enough. In this work, the main solver technologies are compared to create a perfect simulation model for soda lime glass laminates. The calculation should match ballistic trials and be used as the basis for further studies. These numerical simulations are performed with the nonlinear dynamic analysis computer code ANSYS AUTODYN.

This study investigated the behavior and molecular organization of synthetic artificial mimic molecules that resemble the following tetraether lipids: di-O-hexadecyl-glycero-3-phosphatidyl-glycerol (DHGPG) and bis-4-dodecylphenyl-12-phosphate. These molecules were analyzed using Langmuir film balance, ellipsometry and atomic force microscopy. The monolayer Langmuir-Blodgett films of DHGPG and bis-4-dodecylphenyl-12-phosphate were stable on the solid surface silicon wafers. The ellipsometry and AFM results showed that monolayers Langmuir-Blodgett films of DHGPG and bis-4-dodecylphenyl-12-phosphate were present, and the thickness of the observed films varied from 1.2 - 5.0 nm.

This study investigated the stability behaviour of molecular monolayer symmetric chemically modified tetraether lipids caldarchaeol-PO4 on the amino-silanised silicon wafer using Langmuir-Blodgett films, Self Assembling Monolayers (SAMs), ellipsometry, and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The monolayers of caldarchaeol-PO4 were stable on the solid surface amino-silanised silicon wafer. The organizations of molecular monolayers caldarchaeol-PO4 by Langmuir-Blodgett method and SAMs have been analyzed. The surface of pressure in Langmuir-Blodgett processing is carried out monolayers caldarchaeol-PO4 more flat island inhomogeneous. Another method of monolayers caldarchaeol-PO4 by SAMs is showed a large flat domain. Monolayers caldarchaeol-PO4 by Langmuir-Blodgett method seems to be stable and chemically resistant after washing with organic solvent and an additional treatment ultrasonification with various thickness lipids arround 2 nm to 6 nm. Conversely, monolayer caldarchaeol-PO4 by SAMs appears fewer than monolayers caldarchaeol-PO4 by Langmuir-Blodgett method, the thickness of various from 1 nm to 3 nm.

Mycorrhizal roots of the deciduous trees European beech (Fagus sylvatica (L.)) and Sessile oak (Quercus petraea (MattuschkaLiebl.)) and the conifers Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) H. Karst.) and European larch (Larix decidua (Mill.)) associated with the ectomycorrhizal fungi matt bolete (Xerocomus pruinatus (Fries 1835)) or bay bolete (X. badius (Fries 1818)) were analysed with respect to the occurrence of dihydrolipoyl dehydrogenase (EC 1.***.1.4) allozymes. In root tissues of the two deciduous trees, two gene loci could be visualized after cellulose acetate electrophoresis while three loci were expressed in root tissues of the two coniferous species. The two fungal species and further ectomycorrhizal fungi expressed exclusively one dihydrolipoyl dehydrogenase gene. In Xerocomus pruinatus and X. badius, the dihydrolipoyl dehydrogenase gene consists of 1460 bp and 1370 bp, respectively, including five introns each consisting of 52 bp. Their DNA sequences correspond to 70 to 90% to other fungal dihydrolipoyl dehydrogenase genes. One monomer of the dimeric dihydrolipoyl dehydrogenase enzyme consists of 486 (X. pruinatus) or 454 (X. badius) amino acids which sum up to a molecular mass of 55 kDa (X. pruinatus), respectively 52 kDa (X. badius). The number of positively charged amino acid residues makes 79 (X. pruinatus) and 68 (X. badius) and the number of negatively charged amino acid residues was calculated to make 46 (X. pruinatus) and 48 (X. badius);isoelectric points make 9.99 (X. pruinatus) and 9.68 (X. badius). Calculated three dimensional structures reveal a short NADH binding site being part of a larger FAD-binding site and a binding/dimerization domain.
