Bactrocera tryoni and Bactrocera neohumeralis are morphologically similar sibling pest fruit fly species that possess different biological attributes,geographic distributions,and host *** need to differentiate between the two species is critical for accurate pest status assessment,management,biosecurity,and maintenance of reference *** morphologically similar,adults may be separated based on subtle characters;however,some characters exhibit intraspecific variability,creating overlap between the two ***,there is currently no single molecular marker or rapid diagnostic assay that can reliably distinguish between *** and ***;therefore,ambiguous samples remain *** we report the first molecular marker that can consistently distinguish between *** and *** diagnostic region consists of two adjacent single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)within the pangolin(pan)gene *** confirmed the genotypes of each species are consistent across their distributional range,then developed a tetra-primer amplification refractory mutation system(ARMS)PCR assay for rapid diagnosis of the *** assay utilizes four primers in multiplex,with two outer universal primers,and two internal primers:one designed to target two adjacent SNPs(AA)present in *** and the other targeting adjacent SNPs present in ***(GG).The assay accurately discriminates between the two species,but their SNP genotypes are shared with other nontarget tephritid fruit fly ***,this assay is most suited to adult diagnostics where species confirmation is necessary in determining ambiguous surveillance trap catches;maintaining pure colony lines;and in Sterile Insect Technique management responses.

The atomic-to-molecular gas conversion is a critical step in the baryon cycle of galaxies,which sets the initial conditions for subsequent star formation and influences the multi-phase interstellar *** compiled a sample of 94 nearby galaxies with observations of multi-phase gas contents by utilizing public H i,CO,and optical IFU data from the Ma NGA survey together with new FAST H i *** agreement with previous results,our sample shows that the global molecular-to-atomic gas ratio Rmol=log MH2/MH1is correlated with the global stellar mass surface density μ*with a Kendall’sτcoefficient of 0.25and pv-r color,and not related to the specific star formation rate （sSFR）.The cold gas distribution and kinematics inferred from the H i and CO global profile asymmetry and shape do not significantly rely on *** to the availability of kpc-scale observations of Ma NGA,we decompose galaxies into H ii,composite,and AGN-dominated regions by using the BPT *** increasing Rmol,the fraction of H ii regions within1.5 effective radius decreases slightly;the density distribution in the spatially resolved BPT diagram also changes significantly,suggesting changes in metallicity and ionization *** with high Rmoltend to have high oxygen abundance,both at one effective radius with a Kendall’sτcoefficient of 0.37 (pvestigated here,the oxygen abundance at one effective radius has the strongest relation with global *** dependence of gas conversion on gas distribution and galaxy ionization states is *** contrast,the observed positive relation between oxygen abundance（μ*） and Rmolindicates that the gas conversion is efficient in regions of high metallicity （density）.

The Paleocene coals of the Salt Range in the Punjab Province of Pakistan have great economic potential;however,their trace element and stable isotopic characteristics have not been studied in detail except for a few sporadic *** this study,a total of 59 coal samples of which 14 are obtained from open cast mines have been investigated for elemental composition andδ^(13)C-δ^(15)N isotopic *** contents of trace elements such as Co,Cr,Cu,Pb,Sr,Th,U,v,and Zn are 7.4,41.7,11.2,12.5,90.2,4.0,1.9,128,and 31.1 mg/kg,*** values,when compared with the World Coal Clarke values,were relatively higher in low-rank coals in comparison with Clarke values for brown ***,As(20.4 mg/kg),Co(6.6 mg/kg),Cr(22.4 mg/kg),Cu(^(13).3 mg/kg),Pb(19.2 mg/kg),Sr(^(15)4.7 mg/kg),Th(2.5 mg/kg),v(47.8 mg/kg),and Zn(75.1 mg/kg)were significantly higher in the sub-bituminous to bituminous coals of the Salt *** analysis,based on X-ray diffraction and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,revealed that the studied samples contain illite,kaolinite calcite,gypsum,pyrite,and *** affinity with organic and inorganic phases of coals calculated by an indirect statistical approach indicated a positive association of ash content with Ag,Al,Co,Cr,Cs,Cu,Mn,P,Rb,Pb,Th,U,and v,suggesting the presence of inorganic components in studied ***,As,Fe,Sr,and Zn exhibit negative correlations that imply their association with the organic ***δ^(13)C andδ^(15)N isotopic range and average−24.94‰to−25.86‰(−25.41‰)and−2.77‰to 3.22‰(0.96‰),respectively,reflecting 3C type modern terrestrial vegetation were common in the palaeomires of studied coal *** addition,the trivial variations of 0.92‰and 0.45‰among^(13)C and^(15)N values can be attributed to water level fluctuations and plant assemblies.

Background Manual segmentation of thymoma is an onerous,labor-intensive,and subjective task for ***,the development of an automatic and efficient method for thymoma segmentation can be valuable for the early detection and diagnosis of this *** Three hundred and ten subjects were enrolled in this retrospective study and all underwent CECT *** the scans were manually labeled by four experienced *** successful application of convolution neural networks(CNNs)and Transformer in computer vision led us to propose a hybrid CNN–Transformer architecture,named transformer attention Net(TA-Net),that would allow the utilization of both local information from CNN features and the global information encoded by Transformers.U-Net was used as the basic structure and Transformers were inserted into convolution blocks in the *** addition,attention gates were embedded in skip connections to highlight salient *** of the accuracy,intersection over Union(IoU),Dice score,and Boundary F1 contour matching score(BFScore)between the predicted segmentation and the manual labels were utilized to evaluate segmentation *** For thymoma segmentation using TA-Net,the accuracy,Dice score,IoU,and BFScore were 92.49%,89.92%,83.80%,and 0.8945,respectively,and no significant differences were detected among tumor types and enhanced *** proposed method achieved the best performance when compared with state-of-the-art *** The proposed method,which combines CNNs with Transformer,achives outstanding performance in thymoma segmentation compared with previous ***-Net may provide consistent and reproducible delineation,thereby assisting radiologists in clinical applications.

In vitro digestion studies demonstrate large potential to gain more and quicker insights into the underlying mechanisms of feed additives,allowing the optimization of feed ***,current in vitro digestion models relevant for broiler chickens lack sufficient description in terms of protocols and standardisation ***,no distinction is made between the different life phases of these animals(starter,grower,and finisher).Hence,our research aimed to establish adapted in vitro digestion conditions,corresponding to the 3 life phases in broilers,with specific focus on lipid *** effect of 3 different bile salt concentrations of 2,10,and 20 mM,and 3 different lipase activities of 5,20,and 100 U/mL,on in vitro lipid digestion kinetics were evaluated using a full factorial *** values were selected to represent starter,grower,and finisher birds,*** findings showed that the extent of lipid digestion was mainly influenced by lipase *** rate of lipid digestion was affected by an interplay between bile salt concentration and lipase activity,due to possible lipase inhibition at certain bile salt ***,this work resulted in 3 in vitro lipid digestion models representative for starter,grower,and finisher *** conclusion,this research showed the impact of adapted in vitro digestion conditions on lipid digestion kinetics and thus the need for these conditions relevant for each life phase of broilers.

Understanding the impact of coal blending decisions on the prediction of coke quality: a data mining approach

The accurate prediction of coke quality is important for the selection and valuation of metallurgical coals. Whilst many prediction models exist, they tend to perform poorly for coals beyond which the model was developed. Further, these models general fail to directly account for physical interactions occurring between the blend components, through the assumption that the aggregate properties of the blend are suitably representative of the overall behavior of the blend. To study this assumption, a parameter termed the vitrinite distribution category was introduced to directly account for the distribution of one of these commonly aggregated parameters, the vitrinite reflectance. The introduction of this parameter in a regression model for coke quality prediction improved the model fit. The vitrinite distribution category was demonstrated to provide new information about coal blending decisions, and was found to be capable of providing insight into the behavior of different blending structures. Residual analysis was applied to explore the behavior of the coke quality prediction model, with the vitrinite distribution category found to explain more than just the presence or absence of coals within a blend. This work provides the foundation of future studies in examining coal blending decisions, with the proposed parameter having the potential to be applied as part of a coke quality prediction model to optimize coal blending decisions.
