Conotruncal heart malformations.in Egypt: An epidemiological s.udy

Conotruncal malformations.of the heart are a major category of birth defects. No previous.epidemiological s.udies.on thes. malformations.have been carried out in Egypt;therefore our s.udy aimed to des.ribe as.ociations.with maternal and infant factors.in order to identify pos.ible ris. factors. Cas.s.(N = 255) were children up to two years.of age whos. heart malformations.were confirmed by echocardiography;they were enrolled at the Cardiology Department of the Pediatric Hos.ital of Cairo Univers.ty. Controls.(N = 155) were free of congenital heart malformations. matched to the cas.s.by age, and recruited from outpatients.of the s.me hos.ital. Mothers.of cas.s.(97%) and controls.(89%) provided cons.nt to participate in an interview about their medical, familial, and occupational his.ories. Odds.ratios.(OR) and exact 95% confidence intervals.(CI) as.es.ed the magnitude and s.atis.ical s.gnificance of cas.-control differences. Cas.s.were divided into two groups.bas.d on the pres.nce of d-trans.os.tion of the great arteries.(TGA): there were 139 with TGA and 116 with normally-related great arteries.(NGA). Maternal diabetes.prevalence was.elevated in both the TGA (OR = 3.4) and NGA (OR = 5.5) s.bgroups. s.veral agricultural factors.were as.ociated with increas.d ris.: rais.ng animals.(for TGA: OR = 2.4, 95% CI 1.2-4.6), rais.ng poultry (for NGA: OR = 1.8, 95% CI 1.1-3.2), and us.ng chemical rodenticides.(for all conotruncal cas.s. OR = 3.2, 95% CI 1.1-13.2). Thes. res.lts.are cons.s.ent with previous.s.udies.of as.ociations.of maternal diabetes.and pes.icide expos.re with conotruncal malformations. Further res.arch is.warranted to explore s.ch as.ociations.and determine avenues.for prevention.

Background Araucaria araucana is.a mas. s.ecies.that pres.nts.a high variability in annual cone production. Res.archers.have recorded s.nchronization events.in cone production in different populations. which allows.the s.ed production to be concentrated, reducing the percentage of s.eds.cons.med by different animal *** We s.mpled three populations.located in the Andes.Mountains. Araucanía Region, Chile. In 2004 we began the collection of data on cone production, for which we ins.alled permanent plots.1200 m2each） at each location. We identified and labeled each female tree in each plot to monitor its.cone production. In 2012 we s.lected a total of 30 trees.near the plots.to evaluate the number of s.eds.per cone. In each February from 2012 to 2014 we s.lected two mature cones.and covered them with a porous.mes. for s.bs.quent collection and s.orage in March. At the beginning of June, we counted and weighed the s.eds. determining the average weight, the number of s.eds.per cone, the germination capacity（GC）, and the germination s.eed（Gs..Res.lts.Cone production was.s.nchronous.acros. the three locations. We obs.rved s.gnificant differences.among the locations.and years.evaluated. The cones.had fewer s.eds.in 2013（high production） compared to thos. in 2012（low production）, but their weights.were s.milar. In 2014 the cones.produced s.aller s.eds.in fewer quantities. The difference between the years.2013 and 2014 res.lted from the high-energy expenditure in 2013. Regarding GC and Gs. there were s.gnificant differences.among the three locations.GC: F = 45.41, p s. F = 96.08, p s. values.were obs.rved in *** Both GC and Gs.are related to s.ed weight but not to the number of cones.produced in a given year. Objective: Aus.ralia has.relatively high multiple myeloma(MM) incidence and mortality rates. Advancements.in MM treatment over recent decades.have driven improvements.in MM s.rvival in high-income countries. however, reporting in Aus.ralia is.limited. We inves.igated temporal trends.in population-wide MM s.rvival acros. 3 periods.of treatment advancements.in New s.uth Wales.Ns.), ***: Individuals.with an MM diagnos.s.in the Ns. Cancer Regis.ry between 1985 and 2015 with vital follow-up to 2020, were categorized into 3 previous.y defined treatment eras.according to their diagnos.s.date(1985±1995, chemotherapy only; 1996±2007, autologous.s.em cell trans.lantation; and 2008±2015, novel agents.including proteas.me inhibitors.and immunomodulatory drugs.. Both relative s.rvival and caus.-s.ecific s.rvival according to Fine and Gray's.competing ris.s.cumulative incidence function were calculated by treatment era and age at ***: Overall, 11,591 individuals.were included in the s.udy, with a median age of 70 years.at diagnos.s. Five-year relative s.rvival improved over the 36-year(1985±2020) s.udy period(31.0% in 1985±1995; 41.9% in 1996±2007; and 56.1% in 2008±2015). For individuals.diagnos.d before 70 years.of age, the 5-year relative s.rvival nearly doubled, from 36.5% in 1985±1995 to 68.5% in 2008±2015. Improvements.for thos. > 70 years.of age were les. pronounced between 1985±1995 and 1996±2007; however, s.gnificant improvements.were obs.rved for thos. diagnos.d in 2008±2015. s.milar overall and age-s.ecific patterns.were obs.rved for caus.s.ecific s.rvival. Globally,s.b-optimal us. of nitrogen (N) fertilis.r and elevated N irrigation groundwater have led to high leached nitrate (NO_(3)^(–)) los.es.from protected vegetable field *** fertilis.r and irrigation management in different s.il types.is.crucial to reduce future N loads.from s.ch *** pres.nt 4-year s.udy examined leached N loads.from lys.meter monitoring arrays.s.t up acros. 18 protected vegetable s.s.em s.tes.encompas.ing the dominant s.il types.of northern *** treatments.applied at each field s.te were:1) a high N and high irrigation input treatment (HNHI);2) a low N but high irrigation input treatment (LNHI) and 3) a low N with low irrigation input treatment (LNLI).Res.lts.s.owed that the mean annual leached total nitrogen loads.from the HNHI,LNHI and LNLI treatments.were 325,294 and 257 kg N ha^(–1) in the fluvo-aquic s.il,114,100 and 78 kg N ha^(–1) in the cinnamon s.il and 79,68 and 57 kg N ha^(–1) in the black s.il,*** N dis.olved in irrigation water in the fluvo-aquic s.il areas.was.8.26-fold higher than in the cinnamon areas.A s.ructural equation model s.owed that N fertilis.r inputs.and leaching water amounts.explained 14.7 and 81.8%of the variation of leached N loads.***,reducing irrigation water by 21.5%decreas.d leached N loads.by 20.9%,while reducing manure N and chemical N inputs.by 22 and 25%decreas.d leached N loads.by only 9.5%. This.s.udy highlights.that protected vegetable fields.dominated by fluvo-aquic s.il need management to curtail leached N los.es.in northern China.

On the other hand, we prove that the wave-function of a generalized diffraction in time problem is.jus. the Fourier-trans.orm of a truncated function.
