Determination of biogas production potential from animal manure and GHG emission abatement in Turkey

This study was aimed to determine biogas amount and the energy value which could be made from animal manure in *** this purpose,biogas potential was calculated with the number of dairy cattle and laying hens taking into consideration,which have high availability *** has a total of about 8.9 million dairy cattle and 98 million laying *** total 92.1 million tons of manure is obtained from these *** are 89.2 million tons of cattle manure and 2.9 million tons of laying hens *** 1.6 billion m3 of biogas can be produced from the usable amount of this *** heating value of biogas produced from this manure is about 36.7 *** values can provide 1.1%of Turkey’s annual energy consumption(80.5 Mtoe).The distribution of these calculated data by province was mapped using a GIS Software’s mapping *** provinces are ranked according to the amount of biogas production,the top 10 are Konya,Erzurum,İzmir,Balıkesir,Kars,Afyon,Diyarbakır,Aydın,Ankara and Ağrı.Furthermore,the greenhouse gas(GHG)emission abatement was calculated for demonstrating the environmental benefits of the biogas production from animal *** was determined that the CO2 emission abatement annually ranging between 17.2-25.3 million tons could be provided with the evaluation of biogas potential which was calculated.

It is a well-established fact that wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are very power constraint networks, but besides this, they are inherently more fault-prone than any other type of wireless network and their protocol design is very application specific. Major reasons for the faults are the unpredictable wireless communication channel, battery depletion, as well as fragility and mobility of the nodes. Furthermore, as traditional protocol design methods have proved inadequate, the cross-layer design (CLD) approach, which allows for interactions between different layers, providing more flexible and energy-efficient functionality, has emerged as a viable solution for WSNs. In this study we define a fault tolerance management module suitable to the requirements, limitations, and specifics of WSNs, encompassing methods for fault detection, fault prevention, fault management, and recovery. The suggested solution is in line with the CLD approach, which is an important factor in increasing the network performance. Through simulations the functionality of the network is evaluated, based on packet loss, delay, and energy consumption, and is compared with a similar solution not including fault management. The results achieved support the idea that the introduction of a unified approach to fault management improves the network performance as a whole.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to review the urine products of bone breakdown as markers of bone resorption and usefulness of urinary hydroxyproline.Data Related researches published in 1985 -2000 were systematically reviewed.Results Bone markers could be used for early diagnosis of bone metabolic diseases. Biochemical markers of bone resorption that reflect osteoclast activity and/or collagen degradation provide a new and potentially important clinical tool for the assessment and monitoring of bone metabolism. Assessment of bone resorption can be achieved with measurement of urinary hydroxylysine glycosides, urinary excretion of the collagen pyridinium cross-links, urinary excretion of type I collagen telopeptide breakdown products (cross-linked telopeptides) and urinary hydroxyproline.Conclusion Urinary hydroxyproline has been in use as a marker of bone resorption, but it lacks sensitivity and specificity. It is a modified aminoacid that is a metabolic product of collagen breakdown. Hydroxyproline may be released either free or with fragments of the collagen molecule attached during bone resorption, and it is also liberated by the breakdown of complement and nonskeletal collagen.

Insulin has complex effects on cell growth,metabolism and differentiation,and these effects are mediated by a cell-surface bound receptor and eventually a cascade of intracellular signaling *** the several metabolic and growth-promoting effects of insulin,insulin resistance is defined as an attenuated effect of insulin on glucose metabolism,primarily the limited export of blood glucose into skeletal muscle and adipose *** the other hand,not all the signaling pathways and insulin-responsive tissues are equally affected,and some effects other than the metabolic actions of insulin are *** and the adrenal glands are two examples of tissues remaining sensitive to insulin actions where insulin may contribute to increased androgen *** ovary syndrome(PCOS)is the most common form of androgen excess disorder(AED),and its pathogenesis is closely associated with insulin *** with idiopathic hirsutism also exhibit insulin resistance,albeit lower than patients with *** it is not as evident as in PCOS,patients with congenital adrenal hyperplasia may have insulin resistance,which may be further exacerbated with glucocorticoid overtreatment and *** patients with severe insulin resistance syndromes,irrespective of the type of disease,hyperinsulinemia promotes ovarian androgen synthesis independently of *** is highly debated in whom and how insulin resistance should be diagnosed and treated among patients with AEDs,including *** is not suitable to administer an insulin sensitizer relying on only some mathematical models used for estimating insulin ***,the treatment decision should be based on the constellation of the signs,symptoms and presence of obesity;acanthosis nigricans;and some laboratory abnormalities such as impaired glucose tolerance and impaired fasting glucose.

The shape memory behavior of [111]-oriented Ni_（51）Ti_（49）（at.%） single crystals was investigated after stressassisted aging at 500 °C for 1.5 h under a compressive stress of-150 *** was found that a single family of Ni_4Ti_3 precipitates with two crystallographically equivalent variants was formed after aging under compressive *** aging resulted in tensile two-way shape memory effect strain of 1.56% under-5 *** cycling under-600 MPa resulted in a transformation strain of-2.15%,while the subsequent thermal cycling under-5 MPa resulted in a tensile two-way shape memory effect strain of 2.2%.

This study delves into the combustion behavior of various lignite types within a circulating fluidized bed boiler(CFBB),with a primary focus on the impact of different bed material sphericity ratios(0.5,0.7,and 0.9).Utilizing bed material with a sphericity ratio of 0.9 sourced from theÇan power plant and verified through experimentation,the research reveals several key ***,furnace temperatures tended to rise with higher sphericity ratios,albeit with variations between lignite types,particularly highlighting the complexity of this relationship in the case of GLI-Tunçbilek *** levels in the combustion chamber remained consistent across different sphericity ratios,indicating minimal influence on pressure *** combustion efficiency,especially at the bottom of the boiler,was observed at lower sphericity levels(0.5 and 0.7)forÇan lignite,as reflected in CO_(2) mole *** NO_(x) emissions generally decreased with lower sphericity,the sensitivity to sphericity varied by lignite type,with Ilgın lignite showcasing low NO_(x) but high SO_(2) emissions,underscoring the intricate interplay between lignite properties,sphericity,and ***,this study advances our understanding of CFBB combustion dynamics,offering insights valuable for optimizing performance and emissions control,particularly in lignite-based power.

Clinical efficacy and drug resistance of anti-epidermal growth factor receptor therapy in colorectal cancer

Colorectal cancer(CRC) ranked third in cancer related death and its incidence has been increasing worldwide. In recent decades important therapeutic advances have been developed in treatment of metastatic CRC(mCRC), such as monoclonal antibodies against epidermal growth factor receptor(anti-EGFR), which provided additional clinical benefits in mCRC. However, anti-EGFR therapies have limited usage due to approximately 95% of patients with KRAS mutated mCRC do not response to anti-EGFR treatment. Thus, KRAS mutation is predictive of nonresponse to anti-EGFR therapies but it alone is not a sufficient basis to decide who should not be received such therapies because; approximately fifty percent(40%-60%) of CRC patients with wild-type KRAS mutation also have poor response to anti-EGFR based treatment. This fact leads us to suspect that there must be other molecular determinants of response to anti-EGFR therapies which have not been identified yet. Current article summarizes the clinical efficacy of anti-EGFR therapies and also evaluates its resistance mechanisms.
