Meningoencephalitis secondary to Listeria monocytogenes (L. monocytogenes) mainly affects newborns, the elderly and immunocompromised people;there are extremely rare cases in which said infection occurs in immunocompetent individuals. We present the case of a young adult patient without immunocompromise, who developed meningoencephalitis due to L. monocytogenes;This case is exceptional, since it occurred in an individual outside the classic age group, in addition to not having risk factors, which is why it should be considered an atypical causal agent.

In this paper, we study symmetry reduction for a binary asteroid system modeled by a rigid body and a particle. In particular, we demonstrate how translational and rotational symmetry reduction appeared in the binary asteroid system can be carried out in the context of Dirac reduction by stages and with the associated reduction of implicit Hamiltonian systems. Then we investigate Stability of relative equilibria of the asteroid pair and show stability regions by using the energy-momentum method. Lastly, we illustrate some numerical simulations for stable and unstable orbits near from relative equilibria of the Collinear and T configurations.C 2013 The Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics. Plant class III heme peroxidases catalyze lignin polymerization. Previous reports have shown that at least three Arabidopsis thaliana peroxidases, AtPrx2, AtPrx25 and AtPrx71, are involved in stem lignification using T-D NA insertion mutants, atprx2, atprx25, and atprx71. Here, we generated three double mutants, atprx2/atprx25, atprx2/atprx71, and atprx25/atprx71, and investigated the impact of the simultaneous deficiency of these peroxidases on lignins and plant growth. Stem tissue analysis using the acetyl bromide method and derivatization followed by reductive cleavage revealed improved lignin characteristics, such as lowered lignin content and increased arylglycerol-β-aryl （β-O-4） linkage type, especially β-O-4 linked syringyl units, in lignin, supporting the roles of these genes in lignin polymerization. In addition, none of the double mutants oexhibited severe growth defects, such as shorter plant stature, dwarfing, or sterility, and their stems had improved ceil wall degradability. This study will contribute to progress in lignin bioengineering to improve iignocellulosic biomass.

AIM:To compare the imo perimeter,a new portable head-mounted perimeter unit that enables both eyes to be examined quickly and simultaneously,with the Humphrey field analyzer(HFA)perimeter to investigate correlations and their diagnostic ability in glaucomatous ***:The performance of the equipment in 128 glaucomatous eyes and 40 normal eyes were *** investigated the correlations of mean deviation,pattern standard deviation,visual field index,and the ***:Measurements of mean deviation(r=0.886,P<0.001),pattern standard deviation(r=0.814,P<0.001),and visual field index(r=0.871,P<0.001)in both perimeters were strongly and positively *** sensitivities in the imo perimeter were 80.5%for mean deviation,81.2%for pattern standard deviation,and 80.5%in visual field index;those in the HFA were 63.3%for mean deviation,74.5%for pattern standard deviation,and 80.5%for visual field *** perimeters demonstrated high diagnostic ***:The parameters by the imo and HFA in glaucomatous eyes show strong positive correlations with favorable sensitivity,specificity,and diagnostic ***,the difference between imo and HFA results increases with the increase in visual field disturbance.

Objectives:Family caregivers raising children with severe motor and intellectual disabilities(SMID)experience the enormous burden of *** concept of family empowerment is one of the important assessment indexes of family nursing from the perspective of providing comprehensive support for these *** objective of this study was to identify the factors associated with the empowerment of families raising a child with SMID in ***:We conducted a nationwide questionnaire survey involving 1659 primary caregivers raising a child with SMID through 89 special *** assessed the main outcomes using the Family Empowerment Scale(FES).We then conducted a multiple linear regression analysis to reveal the factors associated with family ***:In total,1362 primary caregivers were included in our *** results show that factors contributing to high FES scores are higher age of the primary caregiver,higher education,greater recognition of regional support,lower childcare burden,higher utilization of home visit services,higher usage of a childcare institution,higher household income,and stronger family ***:Healthcare professionals should carefully assess the state of family empowerment of the primary caregivers who are younger and those who have low education,low household income,high childcare burden,and fragile bonding with the ***,they should encourage such families to use regional support resources for *** is,policy makers should consider ways to promote home visits and institutional services for the care of children with SMID,aiming especially for the provision of well-coordinated care and services.

The SMM properties of the spatially closed Dy（Ⅲ） double-decker Pc complex Dy（obPc）2 （1）, which is equivalent to a pseudo dinuclear complex, are reported. Complex 1 crystallized with ethanol in the crystal lattice in the monoclinic space group P22/n and was isomorphous with Tb（obPc）2 （3）, which is arranged in a dimer structure along the b axis. The intermetallic Dy-Dy distance was determined to be 0.756 nm. ZMT versus T plots for 1 decreased with a decrease in T, which suggests the existence of an antiferromagnetic （AF） interaction between the Dy3＋ ions. The M-H curve for 1 at 1.8 K showed magnetic hysteresis. In ac susceptibility measurements on a powder sample of 1, which were dependent on the applied ac field, indicating that 1 is an single molecule magnet （SMM）, a maximum appeared at 22 K at an ac frequency 09 of 1488 Hz. The shape of the peaks dras- tically changed, and the peaks did not shift when an Hd~ large enough to suppress the quantum tunneling of the magnetization （QTM） was applied. The energy barrier （A/hc） was estimated to be 44 cm-1 with a pre-exponential factor （r0） of 1.6 × 10-5 s from an Arrhenius plot. Our results suggest that the SMM/magnetic properties of 1 significantly change in a dc magnetic field. These relaxation mechanisms are related to the energy gap of the ground state and to QTM.

Response of Rice to Insect Elicitors and the Role of OsJAR1 in Wound and Herbivory-Induced JA-lle Accumulation

Plants produce jasmonic acid （JA） and its amino acid conjugate, jasmonoyI-L-isoleucine （JA-Ile） as major defense signals in response to wounding and herbivory. In rice （Oryza sativa）, JA and JA-Ile rapidly increased after mechanical damage, and this increase was further amplified when the wounds were treated with oral secretions from generalist herbivore larvae, lawn armyworms （Spodoptera mauritia）, revealing for the first time active perception mechanisms of herbivore-associated elicitor（s） in rice. In the rice genome, two OsJAR genes can conjugate JA and lie and form JA-Ile in vitro; however, their function in herbivory- induced accumulation of JA-Ile has not been investigated. By functional characterization of TOS17 retrotransposon-tagged Osjarl plants and their response to simulated herbivory, we show that OsJAR1 is essential for JA-Ile production in herbivore-attacked, field-grown plants. In addition, OsJAR1 was required for normal seed development in rice under field conditions. Our results suggest that OsJAR1 possesses at least two major functions in rice defense and development that cannot be complemented by the additional OsJAR2 gene function, although this gene previously showed overlapping enzyme activity in vitro.
