Investigation multi-target synergistic mechanism of Choerospondias axillaris in the treat of cerebral ischemia based on systems pharmacology and experimental verification

Background:Choerospondias axillaris(CA)is a traditional Mongolian medicine that has been proven to have a good therapeutic effect on cerebrovascular *** Ischemia(CI)is a severe and life-threatening cerebrovascular ***,the specific mechanism of action of CA in the treatment of CI is still ***:In this study,the related targets and pathways of CA in the treatment of CI were first predicted by system pharmacology and then verified by relevant ***:The results showed that 12 active ingredients and 208 targets were *** validation through protein-protein interaction(PPI)network analysis and active ingredients-target-pathway(A-T-P)network analysis has confirmed the pivotal roles of the main bioactive constituents,including quercetin,kaempferol,naringin,β-sitosterol,and gallic *** components exert their anti-ischemic effects by modulating key targets such as IL6,TNF,MAPK3,and CASP3,thereby regulating the PI3K-Akt,HIF-1,and MAPK signaling pathways,which are integral to processes like inflammation,apoptosis,and oxidative *** importantly,through experimental verification,this study confirmed our prediction that CAE significantly reduced neurological function scores,infarct volume,and the percentage of apoptosis ***:This indicates that CA acts on CI through multi-target synergistic mechanism,and this study provides theoretical basis for the clinical application of CA.

With the booming development of fifth-generation network technology and Internet of Things,the number of end-user devices(EDs)and diverse applications is surging,resulting in massive data generated at the edge of *** process these data eficiently,the innovative mobile edge computing(MEC)framework has emerged to guarantee low latency and enable eficient computing close to the user ***,federated learning(FL)has demonstrated its empirical success in edge computing due to its privacy-preserving ***,it becomes a promising solution for analyzing and processing distributed data on EDs in various machine learning tasks,which are the major workloads in ***,EDs are typically powered by batteries with limited capacity,which brings challenges when performing energy-intensive FL *** address these challenges,many strategies have been proposed to save energy in *** the absence of a survey that thoroughly summarizes and classifies these strategies,in this paper,we provide a comprehensive survey of recent advances in energy-efficient strategies for FL in ***,we first introduce the system model and energy consumption models in FL,in terms of computation and *** we analyze the challenges regarding improving energy efficiency and summarize the energy-efficient strategies from three perspectives:learning-based,resource allocation,and client *** conduct a detailed analysis of these strategies,comparing their advantages and ***,we visually illustrate the impact of these strategies on the performance of FL by showcasing experimental ***,several potential future research directions for energy-efficient FL are discussed.

A Hybrid Level Set Optimization Design Method of Functionally Graded Cellular Structures Considering Connectivity

With the continuous advancement in topology optimization and additive manufacturing(AM)technology,the capability to fabricate functionally graded materials and intricate cellular structures with spatially varying microstructures has grown ***,a critical challenge is encountered in the design of these structures–the absence of robust interface connections between adjacent microstructures,potentially resulting in diminished efficiency or macroscopic failure.A Hybrid Level Set Method(HLSM)is proposed,specifically designed to enhance connectivity among non-uniform microstructures,contributing to the design of functionally graded cellular *** HLSM introduces a pioneering algorithm for effectively blending heterogeneous microstructure ***,an interpolation algorithm is presented to construct transition microstructures seamlessly connected on both ***,the algorithm enables the morphing of non-uniform unit cells to seamlessly adapt to interconnected adjacent *** method,seamlessly integrated into a multi-scale topology optimization framework using the level set method,exhibits its efficacy through numerical examples,showcasing its prowess in optimizing 2D and 3D functionally graded materials(FGM)and multi-scale topology *** essence,the pressing issue of interface connections in complex structure design is not only addressed but also a robust methodology is introduced,substantiated by numerical evidence,advancing optimization capabilities in the realm of functionally graded materials and cellular structures.

MicroR-9c-5p and novel-mir50 co-target Akt to regulate Lasioderma serricorne reproduction

High fecundity is a common characteristic of insect pests which increases the difficulty of population ***/threonine kinase Akt is an indispensable component of the insulin signaling *** of LsAkt severely hinders reproduction in Lasioderma serricorne,a stored product insect ***,the post-transcriptional pathway of LsAkt in *** remains *** study identified 2 binding sites of miR-9c-5p and novel-mir50 in the coding sequences of *** expression profiles of 2 microRNAs(miRNAs)and LsAkt displayed an opposite pattern during the adult *** reporter assay showed that novel-mir50 and miR-9c-5p could downregulate the expression of *** of miR-9c-5p and novel-mir50 by injection of mimics inhibited the expression of LsAkt and reduced oviposition,decreased egg hatchability,and blocked ovarian *** also decreased the expression of genes involved in ovarian development(LsVg and LsVgR)and the nutritional signaling pathway(LsTOR,LsS6K,and Ls4EBP),and reduced the phosphorylation of ***,injection of miR-9c-5p and novel-mir50 inhibitors induced the expressions of LsAkt,LsVg,LsVgR,LsTOR,LsS6K,and Ls4EBP,enhanced Akt phosphorylation level,and accelerated ovarian *** of bovine insulin downregulated the expression of miR-9c-5p and novel-mir50 and upregulated the LsAkt *** also rescued the reproductive development defects associated with miR-9c-5p/novel-mir50 overexpression,forming a positive regulatory loop of insulin *** results indicate that miR-9c-5p/novel-mir50 regulates the female reproduction of *** by targeting Akt in response to insulin *** data also demonstrate the effects of the insulin/miRNA/Akt regulatory axis in insect reproduction.

Impact of climate and human activity on NDVI of various vegetation types in the Three-River Source Region, China

The Three-River Source Region(TRSR)in China holds a vital position and exhibits an irreplaceable strategic importance in ecological preservation at the national *** the basis of an in-depth study of the vegetation evolution in the TRSR from 2000 to 2022,we conducted a detailed analysis of the feedback mechanism of vegetation growth to climate change and human activity for different vegetation *** the growing season,the spatiotemporal variations of normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)for different vegetation types in the TRSR were analyzed using the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)-NDVI data and meteorological data from 2000 to *** addition,the response characteristics of vegetation to temperature,precipitation,and human activity were assessed using trend analysis,partial correlation analysis,and residual *** indicated that,after in-depth research,from 2000 to 2022,the TRSR's average NDVI during the growing season was *** preliminary ranking of the average NDVI for different vegetation types was as follows:shrubland(0.5762)>forest(0.5443)>meadow(0.4219)>highland vegetation(0.2223)>steppe(0.2159).The NDVI during the growing season exhibited a fluctuating growth trend,with an average growth rate of 0.0018/10a(P<0.01).Notably,forests displayed a significant development trend throughout the growing season,possessing the fastest rate of change in NDVI(0.0028/10a).Moreover,the upward trends in NDVI for forests and steppes exhibited extensive spatial distributions,with significant increases accounting for 95.23%and 93.80%,*** sensitivity to precipitation was significantly enhanced in other vegetation types other than highland *** contrast,steppes,meadows,and highland vegetation demonstrated relatively high vulnerability to temperature fluctuations.A further detailed analysis revealed that climate change had a significant positive impact on the TRSR from 2000 to 2022,particularly in its

Bioinspired sensing-memory-computing integrated vision systems: biomimetic mechanisms, design principles, and applications

With the explosion of sensory data in the Internet of Things(Io T) era, conventional machine vision systems are becoming increasingly difficult to meet the requirements of high efficiency, low energy consumption, and low latency due to their inherent shortcomings of separate sensing, memory, and computing units. Inspired by the retina and neuromorphic computing, the sensing-memory-computing integrated vision system(SMCVS) that features low power consumption, low latency, and high parallelism has been considered a promising technology to surpass the von Neumann architecture and realize strong artificial ***, novel materials like two-dimensional semiconductors and quantum dots with novel optoelectronic performance provide hardware carriers for implementing integrated sensing-memory-computing architectures,attracting considerable attention. This paper reviews the recent research progress in bioinspired vision systems in terms of biomimetic mechanisms, design principles, computational architectures, and ***, the biomimetic mechanisms are illustrated to guide the design of high-performance artificial visual perception systems. Then the research progress of optoelectronic-synapse-based bioinspired vision systems in the device principles and applications including image filtering, color recognition, visual adaptation, and motion detection are summarized. Finally, the challenges and future developing directions of the SMCVS are provided regarding bionic application, architecture design, and device fabrication.

Enhancing antimicrobial resistance detection with MetaGeneMiner: Targeted gene extraction from metagenomes

Background: Accurately and efficiently extracting microbial genomic sequences from complex metagenomic data is crucial for advancing our understanding in fields such as clinical diagnostics, environmental microbiology, and biodiversity. As sequencing technologies evolve, this task becomes increasingly challenging due to the intricate nature of microbial communities and the vast amount of data generated. Especially in intensive care units (ICUs), infections caused by antibiotic-resistant bacteria are increasingly prevalent among critically ill patients, significantly impacting the effectiveness of treatments and patient prognoses. Therefore, obtaining timely and accurate information about infectious pathogens is of paramount importance for the treatment of patients with severe infections, which enables precisely targeted anti-infection therapies, and a tool that can extract microbial genomic sequences from metagenomic dataset would be of ***: We developed MetaGeneMiner to help with retrieving specific microbial genomic sequences from metagenomes using a k-mer-based approach. It facilitates the rapid and accurate identification and analysis of pathogens. The tool is designed to be user-friendly and efficient on standard personal computers, allowing its use across a wide variety of settings. We validated MetaGeneMiner using eight metagenomic samples from ICU patients, which demonstrated its efficiency and ***: The software extensively retrieved coding sequences of pathogensAcinetobacter baumannii and herpes simplex virus type 1 and detected a variety of resistance genes. Knowledge distillation,as a pivotal technique in the field of model compression,has been widely applied across various ***,the problem of student model performance being limited due to inherent biases in the teacher model during the distillation process still *** address the inherent biases in knowledge distillation,we propose a de-biased knowledge distillation framework tailored for binary classification *** the pre-trained teacher model,biases in the soft labels are mitigated through knowledge infusion and label de-biasing *** on this,a de-biased distillation loss is introduced,allowing the de-biased labels to replace the soft labels as the fitting target for the student *** approach enables the student model to learn from the corrected model information,achieving high-performance deployment on lightweight student *** conducted on multiple real-world datasets demonstrate that deep learning models compressed under the de-biased knowledge distillation framework significantly outperform traditional response-based and feature-based knowledge distillation models across various evaluation metrics,highlighting the effectiveness and superiority of the de-biased knowledge distillation framework in model compression.
