The effect of nanoplastics(NPs)on nitrite oxidation bacteria(NOB)community in treating high-strength wastewater remains unclear,which seriously affects the stability of nitrogen removal *** this study,highly active nitrifying sludge was enriched and exposed to 50nm polystyrene NPs(PS-NPs)for short-term(1,100,500,and 1000 mg/L,1.5 hr)and long-term(1,10,100 mg/L,40 days)at high nitrite *** contrast to previous studies,our results showed that the exposures to PS-NPs had little effect on nitrifying *** long-term exposure,the protein/polysaccharide ratios in extracellular polymeric substances(EPS)were positively correlated with PS-NPs concentrations(0.78–0.99).The produced reactive oxygen species(ROS)were gradually removed,and PS-NPs higher than 10 mg/L caused damage to membrane ***-term exposure for 40 days increased the community diversity and caused significant differences between the control and exposed *** control group were dominated by Nitrobacter and Exiguobacterium,while the exposure group was dominated by Bacillus,Mycobacterium,and Nitrospira.A noticeable shift in the NOB community from Nitrobacter(26.5%to 3.4%)to Nitrospira(1.61%to 14.27%)was observed.A KEGG analysis indicated a decrease in cell growth and death,cell motility and energy *** appeared that NOB could adapt to PS-NPs stress through enhanced secretion and removal of oxidative ***,this study provided new insights into the response mechanism of NOB to PS-NPs exposure.

The Ventral Tegmental Area(VTA) is a midbrain structure known to integrate aversive and rewarding stimuli, but little is known about the role of VTA glutamatergic(VGluT2) neurons in these *** activation of VGluT2 soma evokes rewarding behaviors, while activation of their downstream projections evokes aversive behaviors. To facilitate our understanding of these conflicting properties, we recorded calcium signals from VTAVGluT2+ neurons using fiber photometry in VGluT2-cre mice to investigate how this population was recruited by aversive and rewarding stimulation, both during unconditioned and conditioned protocols. Our results revealed that, as a population, VTAVGluT2+neurons responded similarly to unconditioned-aversive and unconditioned-rewarding stimulation. During aversive and rewarding conditioning, the CS-evoked responses gradually increased across trials whilst the US-evoked response remained stable. Retrieval 24 h after conditioning, during which mice received only CS presentation, resulted in VTAVGluT2+ neurons strongly responding to CS presentation and to the expected-US but only for aversive conditioning. To help understand these differences based on VTAVGluT2+ neuronal networks, the inputs and outputs of VTAVGluT2+ neurons were investigated using Cholera Toxin B(CTB) and rabies virus. Based on our results, we propose that the divergent VTAVGluT2+ neuronal responses to aversion and reward conditioning may be partly due to the existence of VTAVGluT2+ subpopulations that are characterized by their connectivity.

Molecular studies using trace DNA, such as from museum specimens, ancient or forensic samples and samples obtained noninvasively, often have a common problem of low quality of DNA templates. Amplification errors, such as allelic dropout and false allele, may arise during polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using such samples. A mathematical model which treats homozygotes and heterozygotes discriminately has been developed to measure sample quality and compute the confidence level of using multipletube approaches. We use plucked hair samples collected from 26 individual Sichuan snub-nosed monkeys (Rhinopithecus roxel- lana) to test the model. In this case, a confidence level of 99% can be achieved by three positive PCRs. If the sample quality is very poor and requires many PCR replicates, an alternative multiplestep genotyping method is recommended. This model enables researchers to optimize experimental protocols through pilot studies and obtain reliable genetic information using noninvasive sampling method.

A lead-free base glaze suitable for pearlescent pigments was prepared by a low-temperature solid-phase reaction with alkali *** were performed to evaluate the effects of the sintering conditions and alkali waste composition on the prepared base glaze and pearlescent *** experimental results show that partially replacing SiO_(2) with B_(2)O_(3) effectively reduced the sintering temperature and time to form a glass network,but the network structure becomes disconnected as the B_(2)O_(3) content *** amorphous base glaze was obtained when soda ash was replaced with a small amount of alkali waste,but increasing the addition of NaCl further was adverse to base glaze formation by resulting in crystallization of the base glaze and a decrease in the bridging oxygen *** pearlescent pigment was thermally stable in the glaze at 750℃,while higher temperatures caused the crystalline phase of NaAlSiO_(4) to appear and adhere to the surface of pigment granules,which degraded the pearlescent effect of the glaze.

Ferroelectricity is usually found in cubic and hexagonal perovskites consisting of corner-and faced-shared BX 6 octahedra,*** con-trast,another important branch of perovskites,postperovskites,which contain layers constructed by both edge-and corner-shared BX 6 octahedra,have been much more scarcely studied and virtually absent in the fields of ferroelectricity since the discovery of postperovskite structure in *** this study,we present for the first time a molec-ular postperovskite ferroelectric,(bromocholine)[Mn(N(CN)_(2))_(3)],and demonstrate how spontaneous polarization arises from the freezing dynamics of bromocholine cations in a unique space confined by postperovskite *** findings suggest that postperovskites could serve as a new type of host-guest model in controlling the molecular dynamics of abundant polar cations in the development of novel ferroelectric materials.

Objective:To observe the effects of angiotensin Ⅱ(Ang Ⅱ) pefusion on transmural heterogeneity of Cx43 expression in the rabbit model with acute myocardial ischemia reperfusion(MIR),and investigate the role of rennin-angiotensin system in malignant ventricular arrhythmia induced by ***:Twenty rabbits were randomly divided into MIR group(n=10) and Ang Ⅱ group(n=10).MIR model was produced with traditional ligation and opening of the anterior descending coronary artery in all *** hearts in vitro in the MIR group and the Ang Ⅱ group were perfused with simply improved Tyrode's solution and containing Ang Ⅱ Tyrode's solution respectively.90%monophasic action potential repolarization duration,transmural dispersion of ***43 protein(Cx43-pro) and mRNA(Cx43-Cq) expression in subepicardial,midmyocardial and subendocardial myocardium were measured in both *** greatest differences of Cx43-pro and Cx43-Cq among three myocardial layers were calculated and shown with △Cx43-pro and △Cx43-Cq ***:After Ang Ⅱ perfusion,90%monophasic action potential repolarization duration among three myocardial layer were significantly prolonged(P < 0.05 and P < 0.01),and transmural dispersion of repolarization also significantly increased compared with the MIR group(P < 0.05).Compare with the MIR group,three myocardial Cx43-pro and Cx43-Cq expression in the Ang Ⅱ group were significantly decreased(P < 0.05 and P < 0.01).but△Cx43-pro and △Cx43-Cq were significant ***:Renin-angiotensin system increases transmural heterogeneity of Cx43 expression in the rabbit model with MIR by Ang Ⅱ,and enlarge transmural dispersion of repolarization among three myocardial layers of left ventricular which induces malignant ventricular arrhythmia.

Considering the intrinsic advantages of natural copiousness and cost-effectiveness of potassium resource,potassium-ion batteries(KIBs) are booming as prospective alternatives to lithium-ion batteries(LIBs) in large-scale energy storage scenarios. Nevertheless, lacking desirable electrodes for reversibly hosting the bulky K+hinders the widespread application of KIBs, and it needs to be urgently solved. Hereon, the porous S-doped Sb_(2)O_(3)-graphene-carbon(SAGC) nanofibers are manufactured through an adjustable and facile approach, which involves electrospinning, in situ etching and sulfuration. The synthesized SAGC is featured by the ultra-small amorphous Sb_(2)O_(3) homogeneously wrapped inside the carbon matrix, as well as the co-incorporation of graphene and sulfur. Tentatively,the SAGC nanofiber sheets are applied as binder-free anodes for KIBs, exhibiting a prominent cycling life(256.72 m Ah·g^(-1) over 150 cycles at 100 m A·g^(-1)) and rate·g^(-1) over 100 cycles at 1 A·g^(-1)). The positive synergy among all the active components accounts for the distinguished performances of the SAGC. By reinforcing the tolerability to the swelling stress, producing the valid electrochemical active sites, and promoting the charge transferring for reversible K+uptake, the SAGC finally renders the excellent cyclability, capacity, and rate capability. Moreover, the extrinsic electrochemical pseudocapacitance characteristics induced by the porous carbon substrate elevate the K-storage capacity of the SAGC as well. It is hoped that the conclusions drawn may offer new insights into a direction for the high-performance binderfree KIB anodes.
