This work studies the macroscopic and microscopic behaviors of ellipsoids under triaxial tests using 3D discrete element method(DEM)*** avoid the boundary effect,a novel stress servo-controlled periodic boundary condition is proposed to maintain the confining pressure of samples during *** shape features of ellipsoids are investigated,including the aspect ratio of elongated/oblate ellipsoids and the initial arrangement directions of *** macroscopic properties of ellipsoidal particle samples,such as the deviatoric stress,volumetric strain,internal friction angle,as well as dilatancy angles are *** and oblate ellipsoids with varying aspect ratios are investigated for the occurrence of *** addition,it is demonstrated that the initial arrangement direction has a significant impact on the coordination number and contact force *** corresponding anisotropy coefficients of the entire contact network are analyzed to probe the microscopic roots of macroscopic behavior.

L10-FePt-type bit-patterned media has provided a promising alternative for ultrahigh-density magnetic recording systems in the current digital era, but rapid fabrication of magnetic patterns with hyperfine bit islands is still challenging, especially with the target for miniaturization and scalable production simultaneously. Herein, Fe,Pt-containing block copolymers were utilized as single-source precursors for solution-processable patterning and subsequent generation of the demanding magnetic FePt dots by in situ pyrolysis. High-throughput nanoimprint lithography was initially employed to fabricate the predefined bit cells precisely,and then the intrinsic self-assembly of phase-separated block copolymers further drove the formation of accurate bit *** from the synergistic effect of top-down lithographic approach and bottom-up self-assembly, the customizable patterns could be achieved for large-scale mass production in targeted areas, but high-density isolated dots could also be accurately aligned along the patterned features after subsequent self-assembly. This reliable strategy would provide a good avenue to precisely construct ultrahigh-density magnetic data storage devices.

The arrangement of DNA-based nanostructures into the desired large-scale periodic pattern with the highest possible accuracy and control is essential for the DNA application in functional biomaterials;however, formation of a DNA nanostructure pattern without utilizing the molecular interactions in nanotechnology field remains difficult. In this article, we use the optimal concentration and adsorption time of origami to induce DNA origami in the form of a large-scale 2D pattern on mica without changing the origami itself. DNA origami structures can form a pattern by close packing of symmetric and electrostatic interactions between ions, which was confirmed by the atomic force microscopy images. Furthermore, we identified favorable conditions for the concentration of enable pattern formation with DNA origami. This work provides an insight to understand the adsorption of DNA on mica and guides researches on regular DNA nanostructure pattern, which can serve as templates for pattern formation of proteins or other biomolecules.

A new definition of dissipativity for neural networks is presented in this paper. By constructing proper Lyapunov functionals and using some analytic techniques, sufficient conditions are given to ensure the dissipativity of neural networks with or without time-varying parametric uncertainties and the integro-differential neural networks in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the obtained results.

A photocatalytic process was developed for intermolecular reductive coupling of aliphatic ketones with alkynes/alkenes to furnish tertiary alcohols. Mechanistic studies support that boron carbonitrides(BCN) promote the single electron reduction of unactivated aliphatic ketones to generate ketyl radicals with visible light irradiation, which then react with alkynes and alkenes to afford the allylic and aliphatic alcohols, respectively. The heterogeneous photocatalytic system is compatible with diverse substrates including pharmaceutical-related molecules(43 examples) with reusability and scale-up experiments, verifying the complementary synthetic utility of this method to the homogeneous catalysts.

Ischemic stroke and ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury induced by thrombolytic therapy are conditions with high mortality and serious long-term physical and cognitive disabilities. They have a major impact on global public health. These disorders are associated with multiple insults to the cerebral microcirculation, including reactive oxygen species (ROS) overproduction, leukocyte adhesion and infiltration, brain blood barrier (BBB) disruption, and capillary hypoperfusion, ultimately resulting in tissue edema, hemorrhage, brain injury and delayed neuron damage. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been used in China, Korea, Japan and other Asian countries for treatment of a wide range of diseases. In China, the usage of compound TCM preparation to treat cerebrovascular diseases dates back to the Han Dynasty. Even thousands of years earlier, the medical formulary recorded many classical prescriptions for treating cerebral I/R-related diseases. This review summarizes current information and underlying mechanisms regarding the ameliorating effects of compound Tem preparation, Chinese materia medica, and active components on I/R-induced cerebral imicrocirculatory disturbances, brain injury and neuron damage. Arbitrated quantum signature(AQS) is an important branch in quantum cryptography to authenticate quantum information, and cryptanalysis on AQS protocols helps to evaluate and improve security of AQS. Recently, it is discovered that an AQS protocol based on chained controlled-NOT(CNOT) algorithm is vulnerable to a novel attack because a transformation from binary keys into permutations and the chained CNOT algorithm have special properties, which enables a malicious receiver to forge signatures with probability 1/2. Moreover, a malicious signer can also deny his signatures with probability 1/4. Then, two possible improved methods are presented to resist these attacks: one is padding constants to reduce probability of the successful attacks, and the other is a circular chained CNOT algorithm to make the attack strategy invalid. And the security analysis shows that both the two improve methods could well resist these attacks.

The pyrolysis of poly(ethylene terephthalate)(PET)/poly(butylene terephthalate)(PBT)catalyzed by five alkaline earth metal-based minerals/wastes,namely calcined dolomite,calcite,magnesite,calcium carbide slag(CCS),and ophicalcitum,was conducted by a pyrolyzer-gas chromatography-mass spectrometer(Py-GC-MS)with the objective of recovering benzenes-enriched *** with magnesium-based catalysts and pure CaO,the calcium-based catalysts with calcium hydroxide as the main component performed better catalytic effect,which could simultaneously promote the hydrolysis of ester products and the decarboxylation of aromatic acids after *** PET,the addition of solid base catalysts at 600℃promoted the complete degradation of aromatic acids and aryl esters,which accounted for 32.6%and 30.7%of the pyrolysis oil,*** content of benzene in oil increased from 8.8%to 31.7%–78.8%.For PBT,the addition of solid base catalysts at 600℃completely decomposed the aromatic acids,which accounted for 67.1%of the pyrolysis oil,and the content of benzene in oil increased from 12.3%to 34.5%–81.0%.During the deoxygenation of polyester pyrolysis products,increasing temperature was more effective for the decomposition/conversion of acetone and tetrahydrofuran,while increasing the alkalinity of the reaction environment contributed to the rapid decrease in acetaldehyde and aryl ketone contents.
