ABA-Mediated Inhibition of Germination Is Related to the Inhibition of Genes Encoding Cell-Wall Biosynthetic and Architecture： Modifying Enzymes and Structural Proteins in Medicago truncatula Embryo Axis

Radicle emergence and reserves mobilization are two distinct programmes that are thought to control germination. Both programs are influenced by abscissic acid （ABA） but how this hormone controls seed germination is still poorly known. Phenotypic and microscopic observations of the embryo axis of Medicago truncatula during germination in mitotic inhibition condition triggered by 10 μM oryzalin showed that cell division was not required to allow radicle emergence. A suppressive subtractive hybridization showed that more than 10% of up-regulated genes in the embryo axis encoded proteins related to cell-wall biosynthesis. The expression of α-expansins, pectin-esterase, xylogucan-endotransglycosidase, cellulose synthase, and extensins was monitored in the embryo axis of seeds germinated on water, constant and transitory ABA. These genes were overexpressed before completion of germination in the control and strongly inhibited by ABA. The expression was re-established in the ABA transitory-treatment after the seeds were transferred back on water and proceeded to germination. This proves these genes as contributors to the completion of germination and strengthen the idea that cell-wall loosening and remodeling in relation to cell expansion in the embryo axis is a determinant feature in germination. Our results also showed that ABA controls germination through the control of radicle emergence, namely by inhibiting cell-wall loosening and expansion.

This paper takes the basic mathematical operations required to manipulate the cognitive maps. This paper start by presenting all the values that a causal relationship can take. By the using of causal algebra, cognitive map (CC) become not only a graphical representation of a person’s beliefs, an agent or a particular area but also can capture the causal relationships existing between the concepts of a given system in a simple manner. Cognitive maps do not use a conventional algebra;algebra causal is needed to treat.

In this paper, we extend the three-term recurrence relation for orthogonal polynomials associated with a probability distribution having a finite moment of all orders to a class of orthogonal functions associated with an infinitely divisible probability distribution µ?having a finite moments of order less or equal to four. An explicit expression of these functions will be given in term of the Lévy-Khintchine function of the measure?µ.

Securing large amounts of electronic medical records stored in different forms and in many locations, while making availability to authorized users is considered as a great challenge. Maintaining protection and privacy of personal information is a strong motivation in the development of security policies. It is critical for health care organizations to access, analyze, and ensure security policies to meet the challenge and to develop the necessary policies to ensure the security of medical information. The problem, then, is how we can maintain the availability of the electronic medical records and at the same time maintain the privacy of patients’ information. This paper will propose a novel architecture model for the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), in which useful statistical medical records will be available to the interested parties while maintaining the privacy of patients’ information.

LVDC: An Efficient Energy Solution for On-Grid Photovoltaic Applications

In this paper some photovoltaic, PV, conversion chains architectures for on-grid applications have been proposed and the advantage of the direct use of a Low Voltage Direct Current (LVDC) bus for the DC loads has been shown. The evaluation of the efficiency of the proposed chains compared to the classical one was performed. It is shown that LVDC use instead of standard AC plugs, in numerous applications, is promising in future. The registered annual saved energy can exceed 25% of the PV generated energy. This important rate, the need of better services at lower economic cost and environmental burden will incite to make reflection about industry and supplies’ future standards.

Novel Solution Based on Face Recognition to Address Identity Theft and Cheating in Online Examination Systems

The main objective of this research is to provide a solution for online exam systems by using face recognition to authenticate learners for attending an online exam. More importantly, the system continuously (with short time intervals), checks for learner identity during the whole exam period to ensure that the learner who started the exam is the same one who continued until the end and prevent the possibility of cheating by looking at adjacent PC or reading from an external paper. The system will issue an early warning to the learners if suspicious behavior has been noticed by the system. The proposed system has been presented to eight e-learning instructors and experts in addition to 32 students to gather feedback and to study the impact and the benefit of such system in e-learning environment.

Petrography and Provenance of Early Triassic Pachmarhi Formation Sandstones, Satpura Gondwana Basin, Madhya Pradesh, Central India

The Pachmarhi, Denwa and Bagra Formations comprise of terrigenous sediments predominantly constitute the Mesozoic Gondwana sequence in Satpura basin of Madhya Pradesh, central India. The Pachmarhi Formation sandstones were studied with a view to understand the nature of the Satpura basin in relation to provenance and tectonic setting. Twenty representative samples of sandstone from Pachmarhi were examined for detrital mineralogy, petrofacies and tectonic implications. These sandstones are medium to coarse grained, moderately to moderately well sorted, subangular to subrounded and of moderate sphericity and composed of several varieties of quartz, feldspar, rock fragments, mica and a suite of heavy minerals. Petrographically, the Pachmarhi sandstones are quartzarenite and subarkose. The petrofacies studies reflect derivation of the sediments from continental block provenance and stable cratonic to fault-bounded basement uplift tectonic setting. The study suggests that the Precambrian granitoids occurring in the southern margin of the Satpura basin contributed sediments during Pachmarhi sedimentation.

Determining Requirements for an Optimal Ad-Hoc Multicast Protocol in Mobile Health Care Training Systems

Nowadays, Health Care Training-based System (HCTS) is a vital component in the education and training of health care in 3D Virtual Environment (VE). The practice of HCTS continues to grow at rapid pace throughout all of the healthcare disciplines, however research in this field is still in its early stage. Increasingly, decision makers and developers look forward to offer more sophisticated, much larger, and more complex HCTS to serve the desired outcome and improve the quality and safety of patient care. Due to the rapidly increasing usage of personal mobile devices and the need of executing HCTS applications in environments that have no previous network infrastructure available, Mobile Health Care Training-based System (MHCTS) is an expected future trend. In such systems, medical staff will share and collaborate in a 3D virtual environment through their mobile devices in an ad-hoc network (MANET) in order to accomplish specific missions’ typically surgical emergency room. Users are organized into various groups (Radiologists, Maternity departments, and General surgery etc...), and need to be managed by a multicast scheme to save network bandwidth and offer immersive sense. MHCTS is sensitive to networking issues, since interactive 3D graphics requires additional load due to the use of mobile devices. Therefore, we need to emphasize on the importance and the improvement of multicast techniques for the effectiveness of MHCTS and the management of collaborative group interaction. Research so far has devoted little attention to the network communication protocols design of such systems which is crucial to preserve the sense of immersion for participating users. In this paper, we investigate the effect of multicast routing protocol in advancing the field of Health care Training-based System to the benefit of patient’s safety, and health care professional. Bi-metallic catalysts of mesoporous Al_2O_3 supported on Fe, Ni and Mn for methane decomposition: Effect of activation temperature

Methane decomposition reaction has been studied at three different activation temperatures(500°C,800°C and950°C)over mesoporous alumina supported Ni–Fe and Mn–Fe based bimetallic *** co-impregnation of Ni on Fe/Al_2O_3the activity of the catalyst was retained even at the high activation temperature at 950°C and up to180 *** Ni promotion enhanced the reducibility of Fe/Al_2O_3oxides showing higher catalytic activity with a hydrogen yield of 69%.The reactivity of bimetallic Mn and Fe over Al_2O_3catalyst decreased at 800°C and 950°C activation *** studies revealed that the catalyst could be effectively recycled up to *** addition of O_2(1 ml,2 ml,4 ml)in the feed enhanced substantially CH_4conversion,the yield of hydrogen and the stability of the catalyst.

In vitro antimicrobial activity of mangrove plant Sonneratia alba

Objective:To investigate the antimicrobial property of mangrove plantSonneratia alba(S. alba).Methods:The antimicrobial activity was evaluated using disc diffusion and microdilution methods against six microorganisms. Soxhlet apparatus was used for extraction with a series of solvents,n-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol in sequence of increasing ***:Methanol extract appeared to be the most effective extract whilen-hexane extract showed no activity. The antimicrobial activities were observed against the gram positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus(S. aureus) and Bacillus cereus(B. cereus), the gram negative Escherichia coli(E. coli) and the yeast Cryptococcus neoformans. Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Candida albicans appeared to be not sensitive to the concentrations tested since no inhibition zone was observed.E. coli(17.5 mm) appeared to be the most sensitive strain followed by S. aureus(12.5 mm)and B. cereus(12.5 mm).Conclusions:From this study, it can be concluded that S. alba exhibit santim icrobial activities against certain microorganisms.
