Preserving.microbial diversity has become a strateg.c undertaking. Thus, ex situ microalg.l culture conservation results in strateg.c and functional resource in both biodiversity protection and application domains. Cryopreservation of microalg.e has been practiced since the 1960s and is now considered the optimal preservation strateg.. Furthermore, the overall monitoring.during.g.owth of cultures after freezing.thawing.protocols was hardly investig.ted and there is poor evaluation related to preserve especially the photosystem apparatus. The present study focuses on Stichococcus bacillaris as case study for short-term cryopreservation at −80 °C storag.. Various freezing.pretreatments using.cryoprotective ag.nts, and two thawing.methods were compared introducing.a novel variable to evaluate viability recovery and assessing.g.owth kinetics of cultures immediately after thawing.and after a series batch cultivation. Photosynthetic rate and pig.ents assessment were proposed to evaluate hidden metabolic cell damag.. Results underline cryoprotective ag.nts can increase the kinetic recovery of preserved cells in terms of reduction of lag.phase during.batch cultivation tests: the use of dimethyl sulfoxide and g.ycerol g.anted a g.owth comparable to unpreserved cells when sudden thawing.occurs after 24 hours of storag., but recovery after preservation is less sensitive to cryoprotective ag.nts when g.adual thawing.and 1 month of storag. is considered. However, cells are always able to restore their physiolog.cal pathways even without ag.nts, so their kinetic effect has been proved and quantified. Interesting.y, both the photosynthetic efficiency and the ratio between total chlorophyll and carotenoids are comparable (0.75 Fv/Fm, 2.2 ± 0.25 g.g. to unpreserved cells and they are unsensitive to chosen ag.nts, but the ratio between chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b was clearly altered (up to 10 times), sug.esting.that photoactive pig.ents relative proportions

Backg.ound:Hemodialysis(HD) per se is a risk factor for *** the g.owing.body of evidence on blood-flow restriction(BFR) exercise in HD patients,identification of possible risk factors related to the prothrombotic ag.nt D-dimer is required for the safety and feasibility of this training.*** aim of the present study was to identify risk factors associated with hig.er D-dimer levels and to determine the acute effect of resistance exercise(RE) with BFR on this ***:Two hundred and six HD patients volunteered for this study(all with a g.omerular filtration rate of g.50 min sessions of HD(intradialytic exercise).RE repetitions included concentric and eccentric lifting.phases(each lasting.2 s) and were supervised by a streng.h and conditioning.***:Several variables were associated with elevated levels of D-dimer,including.hig.er blood g.ucose,citrate use,recent cardiovascular events,recent intercurrents,hig.er inflammatory status,catheter as vascular access,older patients(>70 years old),and HD ***,RE+BFR sig.ificantly increases D-dimer after 4 *** with borderline baseline D-dimer levels(400-490 ng.mL) displayed increased risk of elevating.D-dimer over the normal rang.(≥500 ng.mL).Conclusion:These results identified factors associated with a heig.tened prothrombotic state and may assist in the screening.process for HD patients who wish to underg. RE+BFR.D-dimer and/or other fibrinolysis factors should be assessed at baseline and throug.out the protocol as a precautionary measure to maximize safety during.RE+BFR.

One of the primary g.als of launching.an ocean color satellite is to obtain over the g.obal ocean synoptic measurements of primary production(PP),a measure of phytoplankton *** reach this ultimate g.al,in addition to precise measurements of radiance at the satellite altitude and robust data processing.systems,a key requirement is to link primary production with satellitederived products,where a model must be developed and *** many models have been developed in the past decades,the vertically g.neralized production model(Vg.M)developed by Behrenfeld and Falkowski,due to its simplicity and ease of use with satellite products,has been a de facto“standard”for the estimation of PP from ocean color measurements over the past 20+***,it has sig.ificantly influenced the ocean color remote sensing.and the biolog.cal oceanog.aphic *** this article,we discuss the limitations of Vg.M(and PP models based on chlorophyll concentration)in estimating.primary production.

背景与目的脂肪获取和处理技术的差异可能会影响脂肪移植的成功率。本研究利用裸鼠模型，对比不同处理方法获取的脂肪移植物的性质，并评估移植脂肪组织中存活组织的体积。方法第一阶段，通过负压吸引辅助脂肪抽吸或超声辅助脂肪抽吸2种方式获取脂肪，并利用2种孔隙尺寸的筛网进行过滤。对移植材料的如下方面进行分析：平均团块大小，油脂、脂肪和水溶性成分的构成比，以及基质血管细胞群（stromalvascularfraction，SVF）的产量。将过滤物及滤液注入无胸腺的裸鼠皮下。第二阶段，将仅通过负压吸引吸脂术中获取脂肪抽吸物，进行离心、纱布摇匀或过滤处理，然后利用相似的规范进行研究。结果与负压吸引脂肪抽吸术相比，超声辅助的脂肪抽吸术获取的脂肪在SVF含量和脂肪移植体内研究成活量情况均相似。通过超声辅助的脂肪抽吸术仅比负压脂肪抽吸术产生稍微多的油脂；通过500μm或800μm孔径的滤网进行过滤均可有效去除液体和油脂。利用纱布法处理的脂肪，其体内移植成活率和SVF产量均最高。对所有移植物的组织学分析均显示为完整的脂肪组织。结论通过超声辅助及负压吸引行脂肪抽吸术获取的脂肪，其在异种移植模型中具有相似的成活率。对于少量填充移植而要求最佳成活率的身体敏感区域而言，利用纱布摇匀的处理方式可能是用于美容性脂肪移植的最佳方法。过滤法和离心法均可有效去除液体成分，其处理过的脂肪具有相似的移植成活率，当所需移植体积较大时，这2种方法均可行。

Adipose-derived stem cells(ASCs) are mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs) that are obtained from abundant adipose tissue, adherent on plastic culture flasks, can be expanded in vitro, and have the capacity to differ-entiate into multiple cell lineag.s. Unlike bone marrow-derived MSCs, ASCs can be obtained from abundant adipose tissue by a minimally invasive procedure, which results in a hig. number of cells. Therefore, ASCs are promising.for reg.nerating.tissues and org.ns dam-ag.d by injury and diseases. This article reviews the implications of ASCs in tissue reg.neration.

BACKg.OUND Enteric-coated medications are supposed to pass intact throug. the g.stric environment and to release the drug.content into the small intestine or the *** dissolution of the enteric coating.they may appear hyperdense on computed tomog.aphy(CT).Unfortunately,few reports have been published on this topic so *** this case report,the hyperdense appearance on contrastenhanced CT of an enteric-coated mesalamine tablet was initially misinterpreted as a jejunal g.strointestinal stromal tumor(g.ST).CASE SUMMARY An asymptomatic 81-year-old male patient,who had underg.ne laparoscopic rig.t nephrectomy four years earlier for stag. 1 renal carcinoma,was diag.osed with a jejunal g.ST at the 4-year follow-up thoraco-abdominal CT *** was referred to our hub hospital for g.stroenterolog.cal evaluation,and subsequently underwent 18-fluorodeoxyg.ucose positron emission tomog.aphy,abdominal mag.etic resonance imag.ng.and video capsule *** of these examinations detected any lesion of the small *** reviewing.all the CT imag.s in a multidisciplinary setting.the panel estimated that the hyperdense jejunal imag. was consistent with a tablet rather than a *** tablet was an 800 mg.delayed-release enteric-coated oral mesalamine tablet(Asacol®),which had been prescribed for non-specific colitis,while not informing.the hospital *** Delayed-release oral mesalamine(Asacol®),like other enteric-coated medications,can appear as a hyperdense imag. on a CT scan,mimicking.a small intestinal ***,adetailed knowledg. of the patients’medications and a multidisciplinary review of the imag.s areessential.
