Graphene foam(GF)—a three-dimensional network of hollow graphene branches—is a highly attractive material for diverse ***,to date,the heat dissipation characteristics of GFs have not been *** fill this gap,we synthesized GF devices,subjected them to high temperatures,and investigated their thermal behavior by using infrared *** find that while the convective area of GF devices is comparable to that of bulk materials(such as metals),the coefficient of convection of these devices is several orders of magnitude higher than that of *** addition,the GF devices showed a reproducible thermal behavior,which we attribute to negligible temperature-induced morphological changes(as confirmed by Raman analysis).taken together,our findings suggest GF as a promising candidate material for advanced cooling applications where efficient heat dissipation is needed,e.g.,in electrical circuits.

this study explores the effects of electro-magneto-hydrodynamics,Hall currents,and convective and slip boundary conditions on the peristaltic propulsion of nanofluids(considered as couple stress nanofluids)through porous symmetric *** phenomena of energy and mass transfer are considered under thermal radiation and heat source/*** governing equations are modeled and non-dimensionalized under appropriate dimensionless *** resulting system is solved numerically with MAtHEMAtICA(with an in-built function,namely the Runge-kutta scheme).Graphical results are presented for various fluid flow quantities,such as the velocity,the nanoparticle temperature,the nanoparticle concentration,the skin friction,the nanoparticle heat transfer coefficient,the nanoparticle concentration coefficient,and the trapping *** results indicate that the nanoparticle heat transfer coefficient is enhanced for the larger values of thermophoresis ***,an intriguing phenomenon is observed in trapping:the trapped bolus is expanded with an increase in the Hartmann ***,the bolus size decreases with the increasing values of both the Darcy number and the electroosmotic parameter.

Aim: Purification of glutathione S-transferases (GSts) from rat testis; separation and identificationunits and their role in eicosanoid biosynthesis. Methods: Purification of mt testicular GSts by affit?phy, employing S-hexylglutathione-linked epoxy-activated Sepharose 6B column and separation of indiby reverse phase-high pressure liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). Characterization of affinity purified,um dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and Westem blot analysis. the roGSts in eicosanoid biosynthesis was determined by incubating GSts with 5, 6-Leukotriene A_4Me (prostaglandin H_2 (PGH_2) and analyzing the products formed on HPLC/tLC. Results: the present stumajority of rat testicular GSts are of Y_b size (60%) with molecular weight of 27 kDa. the most preunits, however, are GSt Y_(n2) (27% ), followed by GSt Y_c (24% ) and GSt Y_(nl) (20%). these testiculavery high Leukotriene C_4 (LtC_4) synthase activity with 5, 6-Leukotriene A4Me (LtA_4Me) as theprostaglandin D (PGD) synthase activity with prostaglandin H_2 (PGH_2) as the substrate. Conclusion:testicular GSts are Y_b sized and are involved in the synthesis of eicosanoids like LtC_4 and PGD_2.(Asian J Androl 2000 Dec; 2: 277-282)

BACkGROUND In severe cases of coronary artery disease,percutaneous coronary intervention provide promising *** stent used could be a drug-eluting stent(DES)or a titanium-nitride-oxide coated stent(tiNOS).AIM to compare the 5-year effectiveness and safety of the two stent *** the following systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted in accordance with the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analysis guidelines,and PubMed/MEDLINE,Scopus,and Cochrane Central were searched from inception till August *** outcomes were major adverse cardiac events(MACE),cardiac death,myocardial infarction(MI),cardiac death or MI,and ischemia-driven total lesion revascularization(ID-tLR).RESULtS Four randomized controlled trials(RCt),which analyzed a sum total of 3045 patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS)after a median follow-up time of 5 years were *** statistically insignificant,an increase in the ID-tLR was observed in patients receiving tiNOSs vs *** addition,MI,cardiac death and MI,and definite stent thrombosis(DSt)were significantly decreased in the tiNOS *** analysis revealed no significant results with meta-regression presenting non-St elevated MI(NStEMI)as a statistically significant covariate in the outcome of *** tiNOS was found to be superior to DES in terms of MI,cardiac death or MI,and DSt outcomes,however,the effect of the two stent types on ID-tLR and MACE was not significant.A greater number of studies are required to establish an accurate comparison of patient outcomes in tiNOS and DES.

the scope of the present paper is to understand the effects of crystalline admixture on the selfhealing capacity of the cementitious composites. Previous studies were examined and a conclusion was drawn to the effect that different additives to crystalline admixture tend to improve self-healing of concrete for larger cracks. It is recommended that initial treatment with chemical admixture can stimulate and heal further cracks and it has the better repeatability trend in mixing with the concretes and mechanical recovery is possible even under repetitive preloading. Effective self-healing with chemical admixtures even under open-air exposure, leads to study the importance of a service ability design parameter including the maximum allowable crack width by repeatability analysis as a function of the exposure with the concept of sealable crack width.

Preparation and Properties of Probiotic Chocolates Using Yoghurt Powder

Milk chocolates were prepared by replacing skim milk powder in the formulation with yoghurt powder at 50% and 100% levels. the effect of incorporating yoghurt powder on quality of chocolates was studied. No significant changes were observed in fatty acid profile and hardness of the chocolates. Sour taste of chocolate with yoghurt powder due to its acidity was neutralized by adding calculated amount of sodium bicarbonate. Sensory analysis showed that probiotic chocolates were highly acceptable and similar to control chocolate. Microbiological studies of chocolates showed the presence of Lactobacillus species to the extent of 3.37 log·cfu/g, which were not present in the control sample prepared only with skim milk powder. Rheological studies showed that milk chocolate prepared using yoghurt powder at 50% showed no significant changes in yield value compared to that of control, but at 100% addition a considerable decrease in yield value was observed. Microstructural properties of chocolate with 50% addition of yoghurt powder showed smaller particles adhering to the cocoa and sugar crystals but at 100% addition of yoghurt powder, the cocoa particles were completely covered by smaller yoghurt powder matrix.

Optical and Microstructural Characterisations of Pulsed rf Magnetron Sputtered Alumina thin Film

Alumina thin films were deposited on fused quartz and SS304 substrate by pulsed rf magnetron sputtering with both direct and reactive methods. the films were characterised by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy to reveal the microstructure, surface morphology and topography of thin films. transmittance and reflectance of alumina thin film were evaluated after deposition on the quartz substrate. transmittance of the quartz remains almost un-altered when alumina was deposited by the reactive sputtering. A marginal decrease of ~4% in the transmittance of quartz was, however, observed after deposition of alumina by direct sputtering. Infrared emittance of the substrate also remains almost constant after deposition of thin alumina film. Further, as-deposited alumina on SS304 obtained by both direct and reactive sputtering process was amorphous in nature. However, after annealing crystalline peaks were observed.

the cysteine-rich secretory proteins （CRISPs） are a subgroup of the CRISP, antigen 5 and Pr-1 （CAP） protein superfamily, and are found only in vertebrates. they show a strong expression bias to the mammalian male reproductive tract and the venom of poisonous reptiles. Within the male reproductive tract CRISPs have been implicated in many aspects of male germ cell biology spanning haploid germ cell development, epididymal maturation, capacitation, motility and the actual processes of fertilization. At a structural level, CRISPs are composed of two domains, a CAP domain, which has been implicated in cell-cell adhesion, and a CRISP domain, which has been shown to regulate several classes of ion channels across multiple species. Herein, we will review the current literature on the role of CRISPs in male fertility, and by inference to related non-mammalian protein, infer potential biochemical functions.
