Background and object:The burden of neurological disorders in India is expected to increase due to the rapid demographic and epidemiological transition,with irrational drug use,which is also a global ***,drug utilization evaluation is designed to ensure appropriate medicine use within the healthcare *** aim of the study was to assess the rate and pattern of drug utilization in the management of neurological *** and methods:A hospital-based cross-sectional drug utilization evaluation study on neurological drugs was carried out at the Department of Neurology over a span of six *** legible prescriptions consisting neurological medications irrespective of patient's gender,aged≥18 years were included for the *** World Health Organization(WHO)core drug use indicators were used to assess the drug prescribing and utilization ***:A total of 310 prescriptions were reviewed,where male predominance was found to be 56.45%.Out of 310 prescriptions,drugs belonging to 26 neurological classes were prescribed for the management of various neurological *** majority of patients were diagnosed with epilepsy and the most prescribed drugs per patient were phenytoin(14.8%)and valproic acid(6.45%).By following the WHO core drug prescribing indicators,65.47%of drugs prescribed from the India National List of Essential medicines,2022,followed by 29.83%of drugs prescribed in generic name and 10.86%of prescriptions including ***:The study findings showed that the prescribing pattern in the Department of Neurology was in accordance with the WHO core prescribing ***,the extent of polypharmacy prescriptions was very ***,interventions are very necessary to promote rational drug prescribing patterns and thus clinical pharmacists can contribute to assess and review the drug utilization pattern to optimize the drug therapy and improvement in patient safety.

This review considers available evidence for mechanisms of conferred adaptive advantages in the face of specific infectious *** short,we explore a number of genetic conditions,which carry some benefits in adverse circumstances including exposure to infectious *** examples discussed are conditions known to result in resistance to a specific infectious disease,or have been proposed as being associated with resistance to various infectious *** infectious diseasedgenetic disorder pairings include malaria and hemoglobinopathies,cholera and cystic fibrosis,tuberculosis and Tay-sachs disease,mycotic abortions and phenylketonuria,infection by enveloped viruses and disorders of glycosylation,infection by filoviruses and NiemannePick C1 disease,as well as rabies and myasthenia *** also discuss two genetic conditions that lead to infectious disease hypersusceptibility,although we did not cover the large number of immunologic defects leading to infectious disease *** of the resistance-associated pairings(malaria/hemogloginopathies,cholera/cystic fibrosis,tuberculosis/Tay-sachs,and mycotic abortions/phenylketonuria)appear to be a result of selection pressures in geographic regions in which the specific infectious agent is *** other pairings do not appear to be based on selection pressure and instead may be ***,research investigating these relationships may lead to treatment options for the aforementioned diseases by exploiting established mechanisms between genetically affected cells and infectious *** may prove invaluable as a starting point for research in the case of diseases that currently have no reliably curative treatments,e.g.,HIV,rabies,and Ebola.

The medical herb m>Phyllanthus amarusm> play a crucial role in indigenous medicine. Therapeutically, these plants’ extract acts as potential players that inhibits several digestive enzymes that are relevant to the management of Peptic ulcers and Diabetes mellitus, which occur due to the overproduction of such enzymes. Evaluation of inhibitory effect of this extract was carried out against Pepsin, α-amylase, Trypsin enzymes along with the effect of thermal stability and ammonium sulphate precipitation on these inhibitory assays. m>P. amarusm> leave’s extract with different concentration gradients were used in this research analysis. Results obtained along with the literature analysis revealed photochemical compounds such as polyphenols causes inhibitory nature in the extract. maximal percentage of inhibition of amylase, pepsin and trypsin were found to be 71% (0.32 mg/ml), 85% (0.08 mg/ml) and 87% (1.28 mg/ml) respectively. In thermal stability assay the maximum percentage of inhibition for amylase, pepsin and trypsin was observed at 30% (80°C), 68% (4°C) and 5% (37°C). Enzymes inhibitory assays on ammonium sulphate precipitation elicited maximum percentage of inhibition for amylase, pepsin and trypsin as 42% (at 45% of (NHsub>4sub>)sub>2sub>sOsub>4sub>), 58% (at 15% of (NHsub>4sub>)sub>2sub>sOsub>4sub>) and 40% (at 30% of (NHsub>4sub>)sub>2sub>sOsub>4sub>) respectively. This research concluded that m>Phyllanthus amarusm> leave extracts are potential inhibitors of m>αm>-amylase, pepsin and trypsin enzymes. Ammonium sulphate precipitation was helpful to purify the polyphenols the active compounds to a good extend. Conventional, grid-based sampling location tracking approach with GPs or topographic maps is time-consuming and inconvenient. Therefore, this study combined the freely available virtual/digital globe with recent advancements of smartphone geo-browsers to develop a new sampling location tracking approach. The sampling frame was developed with pre-uploaded point map formulated in GIs environment by combining land-use map and one-kilometer grid with center coordinates. The sampling location grid was uploaded to smartphone and each point was tracked with Google map path finder using point ID (coded grid coordinate) when searching each sampling location. The suitability of the new approach was tested for soil sample collection from paddy lands distributed in 0.9 million hectares in sri Lanka. The sampling locations could be reached conveniently with the help of Google path-finder voice direction guide and optional routes. The efficiency of new approach was found to be remarkably high, m>i.em>., over 99% of the 9000 sampling points, which were spread across sri Lanka having an area of 65,610 kmsup>2sup>. All sampling points in the country could be covered with twelve member field investigation crew who were guided through smartphones uploaded with sampling point grid on six motorbikes within 60 days. The new sampling location tracking approach is effective in terms of cost, time, human resource requirements, thus can be adopted in large-scale soil/plant sampling frames with high accuracy.

Retinoblastoma has varied presentations. As age advances in retinoblastoma, the undifferentiated tumour is the common appearance. Apoptosis in retinoblastoma in an untreated case can give us a clue about the tumour biology. Efferocytosis in intraocular tumour is a new concept which was seen in an enucleated eyeball specimen in a 4-year-old boy. Effective efferocytosis can be conceptualized for new pharmacodynamics application for anti-cancer drugs. We present a rare case of retinoblastoma with efferocytosis in retinal pigment epithelium and interesting apoptotic changes.
