The error of single step-ahead output prediction is the information traditionally used to correct the state estimate while exploiting the new measurement of the system ***,its dynamics and statistical properties can be further studied and exploited in other *** is known that in the case of suboptimal state estimation,this output prediction error forms a correlated sequence,hence it can be effectively predicted in real *** a suboptimal scenario is typical in applications where the process noise model is not known or it is ***,the paper deals with the problems of analytical and empirical modeling,identification,and prediction of the output error of the suboptimal state estimator for the sake of improving the output prediction accuracy and ultimately the performance of the model predictive *** improvements are validated on an empirical model of type 1 diabetes within an in-silico experiment focused on glycemia prediction and implementation of the MPC-based artificial pancreas.

The unmanaged Norway spruce montane forests in the Bohemian Forest National Park(Czech Republic)suffered from repeated large-scale bark beetle outbreaks in last *** this study,the diversity of culturable foliar endophyte microfungi in needles originating from eleven recently wind-fallen trees in this area was *** aims were to describe their diversity and to determine the relative host and organ specificities of isolated endophyte species to estimate the species pool and abundance of foliar endophytes before the forest *** were isolated from surface-sterilized needles,and the outgrowing strains were identified based on morphological and molecular characteristics(analyses of ITS1,ITS2 and partial 28S rDNA).Fungal communities in the needles were diverse,with ascomycetes(mostly anamorphs of Helotiales)dominating *** most frequent species(Phacidiopycnis sp.,Cistella acuum,Sirococcus *** two species of Chalara)did not correspond with those recorded in previous studies of Picea *** example,the widely distributed Lophodermium piceae was rarely recorded in this *** pattern may be caused by different methods of sterilization and cultivation or by physiological characteristics of the needles,or it may reflect the species distribution in the studied *** of the Helotiales,along with sequences from GenBank,showed substantial overlap in host affinities,most prominently between Pinus and Picea,and also among species from distant plant lineages.

This paper deals with the problem of labeling the vertices, edges and faces of a plane graph in such a way that the label of a face and the labels of the vertices and edges surrounding that face add up to a weight of that face, and the weights of all s-sided faces constitute an arithmetic progression of difference d, for each s that appears in the graph. The paper examines the existence of such labelings for disjoint union of plane graphs.

The study deals with adsorption of Naphthol Green B on two unburned carbons and the parent coal,from which the UCs have been created in a fluidised-bed power *** attention has been paid to the adsorption equilibrium modelling:experimental data has been analysed using 2-parameter(Langmuir,Freundlich) and3-parameter(Redlich-Peterson) isotherms — both linear and non-linear regressions have been used for the estimation of the isotherm *** the case of both UCs,the Langmuir isotherm model provides the worst fit,whereas 2-parameter Freundlich and 3-parameter Redlich-Peterson models are both good,from which 3-parameter Redlich-Peterson isotherm provides slightly better results(despite the penalty used for the higher number of parameters).In the case of both UCs,the linear regression of Freundlich and Redlich-Peterson models provides good results(comparable with non-linear regressions).Unlike both UCs,the best fit of the experimental data from the adsorption on the coal has been achieved by the Langmuir isotherm *** results based on the Freundlich or Redlich-Peterson model were(in this case) somewhat worse.

We present new large time step methods for the shallow water flows in the lowFroude number *** order to take into accountmultiscale phenomena that typically appear in geophysical flows nonlinear fluxes are split into a linear part governing the gravitational waves and the nonlinear *** propose to approximate fast linear waves implicitly in time and in space bymeans of a genuinely multidimensional evolution *** the other hand,we approximate nonlinear advection part explicitly in time and in space bymeans of themethod of characteristics or some standard numerical flux *** integration is realized by the implicit-explicit(IMEX)*** apply the IMEX Euler scheme,two step Runge kutta Cranck Nicolson scheme,as well as the semi-implicit BDF scheme and prove their asymptotic preserving property in the low Froude number *** experiments demonstrate stability,accuracy and robustness of these new large time step finite volume schemes with respect to small Froude number.

Forest Disturbance Enhanced the Activity of Epedaphic Collembola in Windthrown Stands of the High Tatra Mountains

The study aimed to assess the response of ep- and hemiedaphic Collembola communities(activity, richness, community structure) to a disturbance, the subsequent management regime and to the season(summer, winter) in a High Tatra Mountains spruce forest destroyed by a *** and clear-cut resulted in an initial increase in the activity of Collembola inhabiting open areas,opportunistic or generalist species, while forest specialists diminished in numbers or *** results indicated that treatment with nonextracted fallen trees(NEX) provided a better chance for forest species to survive compared with their survival in open habitats of extracted(EXT) and wildfire(FIR) treatments. Great species' potential of NEX treatment was indicated by Chao2 estimator and activity/species rarefaction curves. Communities of NEX treatment were more similar to the reference(REF) treatment, documented by ordination and cluster analyses. Thus, leaving fallen timber after a windthrow to natural process of succession is suitable for survival of forest species and maintenance of diversity in forests restoration than timber *** structure in wildfire(FIR) stands was the most dissimilar to the other treatments. Most of the species trapped in this treatment belonged to hemiedaphic life forms, while the activity of larger epedaphic species diminished. In contrast, the highest number of trapped Collembola in EXT treatment was connected with the larger-bodied epigeic species with fast dispersal ability. The trapping period affected both the number of individuals and species richness;Collembola activity and species diversity in the individual treatments were lower in winter compared with the summer period. Several species increased activity during the winter period, namely Folsomia penicula, Friesea mirabilis, F. truncata, Hypogastrura socialis and Protaphorura aurantiaca.
