Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Mn(II) complexes synthesized by reflux of 6-bromo-3-(3-(4-chlorophenyl)acryloyl)-2H- chromen-2-one, Ciprofloxacin and various transition metal. 1H, 13C, IR and EsI Mass confirm the formation of ligand. The metal complexes were characterized on the basis of various spectroscopic techniques like IR studies and elemental analysis while the geometry of complexes was octahedral which is confirmed by electronic spectra and thermogravimetric analysis. The compounds were subjected to antimicrobial, antioxidant and anti-tubercular activity screening using serial broth dilution method and Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) is determined. Mn(II) complex has shown significant antifungal activity with an MIC of 6.25 μg/ml while Cu(II) complex is noticeable for antibacterial activity at the same concentration. Anti-TB activity of the ligand has enhanced on complexation with Ni(II) and Co(II) ions. While Ni(II) complex shows superior antioxidant activity than other complexes.

Objective: This study aimed to compare the cortical topographic mapping while performing cognitive activities of standardized short-term memory. Materials and Methods: The sample consisted of 30 individuals of both gender. Each individual participant of the survey was subjected to a short-term memory test for each sense. To carry out the EEG record, we used an electroencephalograph with 20 electrodes. The stimulus for the acquisition of short-term memory has always been made up of five items from different semantic classes. Results: The posterior right quadrant had a higher percentage of gamma rhythm during the tests of most senses. Conclusion: It was concluded that the right back quadrant has a higher gamma rhythms percentage during tests which involve somesthetic, olfactory and gustatory memory. On the other hand, the predominance of a gamma rhythm percentage in any quadrant when the auditory and visual memory was stimulated was not observed in this study.

Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF-1 or von Recklinghausen disease) is an autosomal dominant genetic disease, characterized by an extreme variability of its clinical expression which is also found in the same family. Our work focuses on the exploitation of four cases of patients with NF-1 who were enrolled in the paediatric neurology consultation at Rabat Children’s Hospital. They are two infants and two children. Otherwise the diagnosis was made in front of the existence of café au lait and lentiginous spots in two boys, also the existence of café au lait spots and abnormalities in brain imaging in two girls. Thus an evolution was marked by a favorable outcome for three patients and neurological sequelae in one patient.

A polycrystalline sample of Ba5GdTi3v7O30 was prepared using a mixed oxide method at high temperature (i.e., at 950℃). The formation of single-phase compound with orthorhombic structure at room temperature was confirmed from preliminary X-ray diffraction study. Detailed studies of dielectric properties of Ba5GdTi3v7O30, investigated in a wide frequency range (102 - 106 Hz) at different temperatures (33℃ - 500℃) showed that these properties of the material are strongly dependent on frequency and temperature. The existence a dielectric anomaly suggests that the compound has a transition temperature at ~385℃. The nature of the variation of conductivity and value of activation energy in different regions, calculated from the temperature dependence of ac conductivity (dielectric data) suggest that the conduction process is of mixed type (i.e., ionic-polaronic and space charge generated from the oxygen ion vacancies). The ac conductivity spectrum obeys Jonscher’s universal power law.

Three types of photocatalysts were synthesized by metal organic chemical vapor deposition and impregnation methods using the almond shell activated carbon as support. These photocatalysts denoted by （TiO2/AsAC （v）, TiO2/AsAC （11） and TiO2/AsAC （12）） were characterized by scanning electron microscopy （sEM）, X-ray diffraction （XRD）, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR）, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy （DRs） and nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms. sEM observation shows that TiO2 was deposited on activated carbon surface. XRD results confirm that TiO2 existed in a mixture of anatase and rutile phases. The DRs spectra show the characteristic absorption edge of TiO2 at approximate 380 nm corresponding to the optical band gap of 3.26 ev. Besides, FTIR spectrum indicated the presence of （Ti-O） groups. The specific surface area of photocatalysts decreased drastically in comparison with the original activated carbon. The catalysts were very efficient for the photodegradation of total organic carbon （TOC） from industrial phosphoric acid solution under Uv irradiation. The kinetics of photocatalytic TOC degradation was found to follow a pseudo- first-order model. The prepared TiO2/AsAC showed high photoactivity for the photodegradation of TOC in the following order： TiO2/AsAC （v）〉 TiO2/AsAC （11）〉 TiO2/AsAC （12）〉 AsAC 〉 TiO2 （P25）.

First-principles calculations by means of the full-potential linearized augmented plane wave method using the generalized gradient approximation with correlation effect correction（GGA＋U） within the framework of spin polarized density functional theory（DFT＋U） are used to study the structural,electronic,and magnetic properties of cubic perovskite compounds RbXF3（X = Mn,v,Co,and Fe）.It is found that the calculated structural parameters,i.e.,lattice constant,bulk modulus,and its pressure derivative are in good agreement with the previous *** results reveal that the strong spin polarization of the 3d states of the X atoms is the origin of ferromagnetism in *** energies and the magnetic moments of RbXF3 have also been *** calculated electronic properties show the half-metallic nature of RbCoF3 and RbFeF3,making these materials suitable for spintronic applications.

AIM: To evaluate the treatment of pediatric functional chronic intestinal constipation (FCIC) with a probiotic goat yogurt. METHODs: A crossover double-blind formula-controlled trial was carried out on 59 students (age range: 5-15 years) of a public school in Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil, presenting a FCIC diagnostic, according to Roma Ⅲ criteria. The students were randomized in two groups to receive a goat yogurt supplemented with 109 colony forming unit/mL Bifidobacterium longum (***) (probiotic) daily or only the yogurt for a period of 5 wk (formula). Afterwards, the groups were intercrossed for another 5 wk. Defecation frequency, stool consistency and abdominal and defecation pain were ***: Both treatment groups demonstrated improvement in defecation frequency compared to baseline. However, the group treated with probiotic showed most signif icant improvement in the f irst phase of the study. An inversion was observed after crossing over, resulting in a reduction in stool frequency when this group was treated by formula. Probiotic and formula improved stool consistency in the f irst phase of treatment, but the improvement obtained with probiotic was significantly higher (P = 0.03). In the second phase of treatment, the group initially treated with probiotic showed worseningstool consistency when using formula. However, the difference was not signif icant. A signif icant improvement in abdominal pain and defecation pain was observed with both probiotic and formula in the first phase of treatment, but again the improvement was more signif icant for the group treated with B. longum during phase I (P ssover study were analyzed, significant differences were observed between probiotic yogurt and yogurt only for defecation frequency (P = 0.012), defecation pain (P = 0.046) and abdominal pain (P = 0.015).
