Producing environmentally stable monolayers and few-layers of hafnium disulphide （HfS2） with a high yield to reveal its unlocked electronic and optoelectronic applications is still a challenge. HfS2 is a layered two-dimensional material of group-IV transition metal dichalcogenides. For the first time, we demonstrate a simple and cost-effective method to grow layered belt-like nanocrystals of HfS2 with a notably large interlayer spacing followed by their chemical exfoliation. Various microscopic and spectroscopic techniques confirm that these as-grown crystals exfoliate into single or multiple layers in a few minutes using solvent assisted ultrasonification method in N-cyclohexyl-2- pyrrolidone. The exfoliated nanosheets of HfS2 exhibit an indirect bandgap of 1.3 eV with high stability against surface degradation. Furthermore, we demonstrate that these nanosheets hold potential for electronic applications by fabricating a field-effect transistor based on few-layered HfS2, exhibiting a field-effect mobility of 0.95 cm2/（V.s） with a high on/off current modulation ratio of 10,000 in ambient conditions. The method is scalable and has a potential significance for both academic and industrial purposes.

Objective:To evaluate the immunostimulatory potential of crossreactive molecule heat shock protein 60(HSP60)of filarial parasite Brugia malayi and Leishmania ***:HSP60 of Brugia malayi(BmHSP60)was amplified using gene-specific primer,cloned in p Tri Ex4 vector,expressed in BL21-DE3 cells,and recombinant HSP60(rHSP60)of~65 k Da was purified by affinity chromatography using Ni-NTA *** recombinant protein was desalted by the dialysis membrane,and the presence of endotoxin level was determined by Limulus amebocyte lysate *** recombinant protein was tested for cell proliferation,nitric oxide release,expression of Th1 and Th2 cytokines,and transcription factors(STATs)in vitro using murine macrophage cell line(j774 A.1).Results:Higher cell proliferation indicated that BmHSP60 had immunostimulatory ***60 exposure upregulated the expression of iNOS,STAT1,STAT4,Th1 cytokines(IFN-γ,TNF-α,IL-12),and nitric oxide *** addition,no remarkable change was observed in the expression of IL-6,IL-10,and STAT3 in macrophage cell line j774 *** ELISA analysis showed the levels of IFN-γ,TNF-α,and IL-12 were upregulated while IL-10 level was downregulated,revealing that BmHSP60 triggered a Th1 immune ***:Our study demonstrates that rBmHSP60 has immunogenic properties which effectively enhances the Th1 type immune responses,and can be used as an immunoprophylactic agent against ***,in vivo studies are in progress to determine the protective role of rBmHSP60 against Leishmania donovani infection in a mouse model.

BACkGROUND Lupus enteritis is a rare manifestation of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Diagnosis of this condition is difficult, especially in the absence of other symptoms related to active SLE. We present the case of a 25-year-old female with lupus enteritis as the sole initial manifestation of active SLE. CASE SUMMARY A 25-year-old African American female presented to the Emergency Department complaining of diffuse abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting for 2 days. Her past medical history was significant for seasonal allergies and family history was pertinent for discoid lupus in her father and SLE in a cousin. The patient’s vital signs on presentation were normal. Her physical exam was remarkable for significant lower abdominal tenderness without guarding or rigidity. A computed tomography of the abdomen and pelvis revealed marked circumferential wall thickening and edema of the proximal and mid small bowel predominantly involving the submucosa. Our main differential diagnoses were intestinal angioedema and mesenteric vein thrombosis. However, mesenteric vessels were patent, and laboratory testing for hereditary angioedema showed a normal C1 Esterase Inhibitor level and low C3 and C4 levels. Infectious work-up was negative. Autoimmune tests showed elevated anti-nuclear antibodies (ANA)(13.6), anti-Smith antibody, and anti-ribonucleoprotein (anti-RNP) antibody. The patient was diagnosed with SLE enteritis. She was maintained on bowel rest, given intravenous hydration, and started on methylprednisolone 60 mg IV daily. She had significant improvement in her abdominal pain, diarrhea, and emesis after 2 days of treatment. Steroids were tapered and maintained on Hydroxychloroquine with no relapses one year after *** This case of lupus enteritis represents a rare manifestation of SLE. Diagnosis requires clinical suspicion, characteristic imaging and laboratory tests. Endoscopic appearance and biopsies usually yield non-specific findings.

Peroxisomes are essential eukaryotic organelles that mediate various metabolic processes. Peroxisome import depends on a group of peroxisome biogenesis factors called peroxins, many of which are evolutionarily conserved. PEX2, PEX10, and PEX12 are three RING-finger-domain-containing integral membrane peroxins crucial for protein import. In yeast （Saccharomyces cerevisae）, RING peroxins act as E3 ligases, facilitating the recycling of the peroxisome import receptor protein PEX5 through ubiquitination. In plants, RING peroxins are essential to plant vitality. To elucidate the mode of action of the plant RING peroxins, we employed in vitro assays to show that the Arabidopsis RING peroxins also have E3 ligase activities. We also identified a PEX2-interacting protein, DSk2b, which is a member of the ubiquitin receptor family known to function as shuttle factors ferrying polyubiquitinated substrates to the proteasome for degradation. DSk2b and its tandem duplicate DSk2a are localized in the cytosol and the nucleus, and both interact with the RING domain of PEX2 and PEX12. DSk2 artificial microRNA lines did not display obvious defects in plant growth or peroxisomal processes, indicating functional redundancies among Arabidopsis ubiquitin receptor proteins. Our results suggest that Arabidopsis RING peroxins can function as E3 ligases and act together with the ubiquitin receptor protein DSk2 in the peroxisomal membrane-associated protein degradation system.

Three ethylene diurea （EDU） concentrations （0, 150 and 300 mg/L） were used to evaluate the negative impact of ozone （O3） on two cultivars of Trifoliurn repens L. cv. Vardan and Bundel grown under natural field conditions in a suburban area of Varanasi, India. Mean O3 concentrations varied from 30.3 to 46.6 μg/L during the experimental period. Higher photosynthetic pigments and ascorhic acid concentrations were noticed in both EDU-treated cultivars over non-EDU-treated ones, but a reverse trend was found for lipid peroxidation. Growth parameters and biomass also showed increments under EDU treatment of both cultivars. The ratio of variable fluorescence to maximum fluorescence increased significantly in Vardan but not in Bundel upon EDU treatment. Results revealed that EDU concentration of 300 mg/L was more effective to combat the oxidative stress as well as protecting plants from O3 injury symptoms. The test cultivar Vardan is relatively sensitive to O3, thereby can be used as a bioindicator of O3 pollution in areas having higher O3 concentrations. Results also indicated that Bundel has more efficient antioxidant defense system than Vardan and hence was more tolerant to O3 stress.

This paper presents the structural, optical absorption, photoluminescence (PL) and decay spectral properties of Dy^(3+)ions doped zinc lead alumino borate (ZPAB) glasses to elucidate their possible usage in photonic devices such as w-LEDs and lasers. A broad hump shown by the XRD spectrum recorded for an un-doped ZPAB glass confirms its non-crystalline nature. The judd-Ofelt (j-O) intensity parameter evaluated from the measured oscillator strengths of the absorption spectral features were used to estimate various radiative parameters and also to understand the nature of bonding between Dy^(3+)ions and oxygen ligands. Under 350 nm excitation, the as-prepared glasses are exhibiting two emission bands^4F_(9/2)→~6H_(15/2)(blue),and^4F_(9/2)→~6H_(13/2)(yellow) at 483 and 575 nm,respectively. From the PL spectra,the Y/B ratio values, CIE chromaticity color coordinates and color correlated temperature (CCT) were evaluated. The experimental lifetimes measured from the decay profiles are decreasing with increase in Dy^(3+)ions concentration in these glasses which may be attributed to the cross-relaxation and nonradiative multiphonon relaxation process. Decay profiles observed for higher concentration were well fitted to Inokuti-Hirayama (I-H) model to understand the energy transfer process and subsequent decrease in experimental lifetimes. The higher values of radiative parameters, emission cross-sections,quantum efficiency, optical gain and gain band width suggest the suitability of 0.5 mol%of Dy^(3+) ions in these ZPAB glasses for the photonic device application.

Renewable fuels have many advantages over fossil fuels because they are biodegradable and sustainable,and help mitigate social and environmental *** objective of the present study is to evaluate the performance,combustion,and emission characteristics of a compression–ignition engine using hydrogen compressed natural gas(HCNG)-enriched kusum seed biodiesel blend(kSOBD20).The flow rate of HCNG was set at 5 L/min,10 L/min,and 15 L/min,and the injection pressure was varied in the range of 180 bar to 240 *** thermal efficiency(BTE)and brake-specific fuel consumption(BSFC)were improved when HCNG was added to the *** characteristics,namely,cylinder pressure(CP)and net heat release rate(NHRR),were also *** of carbon monoxide(CO),hydrocarbons(HC),and smoke were also reduced,with the exception of nitrogen oxides(NO_(x)).The higher injection pressure(240 bar)had a positive effect on the operating *** an injection pressure of 240 bar,for kSOB20+15 L/min HCNG,the highest BTE and the lowest BSFC were found to be 32.09%and 0.227 kg/kWh,***,the CP and NHRR were 69.34 bar and 66.04 j/°.CO,HC,and smoke levels were finally reduced to 0.013%,47×10^(-6)and 9%,respectively,with NO_(x)levels at 1623×10^(-6).For optimum results in terms of engine characteristics,the fuel combination kSOBD20+15 L/min HCNG at FIP 240 bar is recommended.
