Numerical simulation and experimental validation of arc welding of DMR-249A steel

The thermo-mechanical attributes of DMR-249 A steel weld joints manufactured by shielded metal arc welding(SMAW) and activated gas tungsten arc welding(A-GTAW) processes were studied using Finite Element Model(FEM) simulation. The thermal gradients and residual stresses were analyzed with SYSWELD software using double ellipsoidal heat source distribution model. The numerically estimated temperature distribution was validated with online temperature measurements using thermocouples. The predicted residual stresses profile across the weld joints was compared with the values experimentally measured using non-destructive techniques. The measured and predicted thermal cycles and residual stress profile was observed to be comparable. The residual stress developed in double sided A-GTAW joint were marginally higher in comparison to five pass SMAW joint due to phase transformation associated with high heat input per weld pass for A-GTAW process. The present investigations suggest the applicability of numerical modeling as an effective approach for predicting the thermo-mechanical properties influenced by welding techniques for DMR-249 A steel weld joints. The tensile, impact and micro-hardness tests were carried to compare the *** benefits of high productivity and savings of labor and cost associated with A-GTAW compared to SMAW process, the minor variation in residual stress build up of A-GTAW joint can be neglected to develop A-GTAW as qualified alternative welding technique for DMR-249 A steel.? 2016 china Ordnance Society. The influence of spark plasma sintering temperatures on the microstructure,hardness,and elastic modulus of the nanocrystalline Al-xV alloys produced by high-energy ball milling

Al-xV alloys(x=2 at.%,5 at.%,10 at.%)with nanocrystalline structure and high solid solubility of V were produced in powder form by high-energy ball milling(HEBM).The alloy powders were consolidated by spark plasma sintering(SPS)employing a wide range of temperatures ranging from 200 to 400°*** microstructure and solid solubility of V in Al were investigated using X-ray diffraction analysis,scanning electron microscope and transmission electron *** microstructure was influenced by the SPS temperature and V content of the *** alloys exhibited high solid solubility of V–six orders of magnitude higher than that in equilibrium state and grain sizec was detected at 400℃.Formation of a V-lean phase and bimodal grain size was observed during SPS,which increased with the increase in SPS *** hardness and elastic modulus,measured using nanoindentation,were significantly higher than commercial *** example,Al-V alloy produced by SPS at 200℃ exhibited a hardness of 5.21 GPa along with elastic modulus of 96.21 *** evolution of the microstructure and hardness with SPS temperatures has been discussed.

A framework for building energy management system with residence mounted photovoltaic

Efficient utilization of a residential photovoltaic (PV) array with grid connection is difficult due to power fluctuation and geographical dispersion. Reliable energy management and control system are required for overcoming these obstacles. This study provides a new residential energy management system (REMS) based on the convolution neural network (cNN) including PV array environment. The cNN is used in the estimation of the nonlinear relationship between the residence PV array power and meteorological datasets. REMS has three main stages for the energy management such as forecasting, scheduling, and real functioning. A short term forecasting strategy has been performed in the forecasting stage based on the PV power and the residential load. A coordinated scheduling has been utilized for minimizing the functioning cost. A real-time predictive strategy has been used in the actual functioning stage to minimize the difference between the actual and scheduled power consumption of the building. The proposed approach has been evaluated based on real-time power and meteorological data sets.

BAckGROUND： Diagnostic parameters that can predict the presence of chronic pancreatitis（cP） in patients with recurrent pain due to pancreatitis would help to direct appropriate therapy. This study aimed to compare the serum levels of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1（McP-1）, transforming growth factor-β1（TGF-β1）, nerve growth factor（NGF）, resistin and hyaluronic acid（HA） in patients with recurrent acute pancreatitis（RAP） and cP to assess their ability to differentiate the two ***： Levels of serum markers assessed by enzymelinked immunosorbent assay（ELISA） were prospectively compared in consecutive patients with RAP, cP and in controls and stepwise discriminant analysis was performed to identify the markers differentiating RAP from ***： One hundred and thirteen consecutive patients（RAP=32, cP=81） and 78 healthy controls were prospectively enrolled. The mean（SD） age of the patients was 32.0（14.0）years; 89（78.8%） were male. All markers were significantly higher in cP patients than in the controls（P〈0.001）; McP-1NGF and HA were significantly higher in RAP patients than in the controls（P〈0.001）. Stepwise discriminant analysis showed significant difference（P=0.002） between RAP and cP for resistin with an accuracy of 61.9%, discriminant scores of ≤-0.479 and ≥0.189 indicating RAP and cP, respectively. The other markers had no differential value between RAP and ***： Serum resistin is a promising marker to differentiate between RAP and cP and needs validation in future studies, especially in those with early cP.

comparing acid steatocrit and faecal elastase estimations for use in M-ANNHEIM staging for pancreatitis

AIM To compare two tests for exocrine pancreatic function(EPF) for use in M-ANNHEIM staging for pancreatitis. METHODS One hundred and ninety four consecutive patients with acute pancreatitis(AP; n = 13), recurrent acute pancreatitis(RAP; n = 65) and chronic pancreatitis(cP; n = 116) were enrolled. EPF was assessed by faecal elastase-1(FE-1) estimation and stool fat excretion by the acid steatocrit method. Patients were classified as per M-ANNHEIM stages separately based on the results of the two tests for comparison. Independent Student's t-test, χ~2 test, kruskal-Wallis test, Mann-Whitney U test and Mc Nemar's test were used as appropriate. RESULTS Sixty-one(52.5%) patients with cP had steatorrhoea when assessed by the acid steatocrit method; 79 (68.1%) with cP had exocrine insufficiency by the FE-1 test(χ~2 test, P cid steatocrit and FE-1 showed a significant negative correlation(Spearman's rho =-0.376, P cally significant difference was seen between the M-ANNHEIM stages as classified separately by acid steatocrit and the FE-1. Thirteen(6.7%), 87(44.8%), 89(45.8%) and 5(2.5%) patients were placed in M-ANNHEIM stages 0,?Ⅰ, Ⅱ, and Ⅲ respectively, with the use of acid steatocrit as against 13(6.7%), 85(43.8%), 75(38.6%), and 21(10.8%) respectively by FE-1 in stages 0,?Ⅰ, Ⅱ, and Ⅲ thereby altering the stage in 28(14.4%) patients(P c Nemar's test). cONcLUSION FE-1 estimation performed better than the acid steatocrit test for use in the staging of pancreatitis by the M-ANNHEIM classification since it diagnosed a higher proportion of patients with exocrine insufficiency.

continuing episodes of pain in recurrent acute pancreatitis: Prospective follow up on a standardised protocol with drugs and pancreatic endotherapy

colour and moisture content are two most important attributes of the commercial food *** of moisture content is very important to know the storability of the food *** also relates to the process of drying in a fruit or *** drying and shrinkage deteriorates the quality of food *** goal of the experiment was to examine the changes in RGB values of an apple during drying at different *** this study,emphasis was given on how the colour changes when there is a significant change in the moisture content of the *** randomly chosen varieties of apples were sliced to 8 mm thickness and dried in vacuum oven at 60°c,70°c,and 80°*** loss of moisture was recorded for every 30 min interval and corresponding digital images were taken to determine the change in RGB *** images that were captured during the study was analysed in MATLAB image analysis computer *** analysis of moisture content and average colour share with respect to time showed that average colour share value decreases with time at all three *** than 50 per cent of variation in moisture content was explained by average colour *** is a significant linear relationship between moisture content and colour changes in RGB and can be used to predict the moisture content of apple during drying process.
