A class of relativistic astrophysical compact objects is analyzed in the modified Finch-Skea geometry described by the MIT bag model equation of state of interior matter,p=1/3(ρ-4b),where b is known as the bag constant.b plays an important role in determining the physical features and structure of strange *** consider the finite mass of the strange quark(m_(s)≠0) and study its effects on the stability of quark matter inside a *** note that the inclusion of strange quark mass affects the gross properties of the stellar configuration,such as maximum mass,surface red-shift,and the radius of strange quark *** apply our model physically,we consider three compact objects,namely,(ⅰ) VELA X-1,(ⅱ) 4U 1820-30,and(ⅲ) PSR J 1903+327,which are thought to be strange *** range of b is restricted from 57.55 to bstable(MeV/fm3),for which strange matter might be stable relative to iron(^(56)Fe).However,we also observe that metastable and unstable strange matter depend on b and *** energy conditions hold well in this *** in terms of the Lagrangian perturbation of radial pressure is studied in this paper.

We consider the finite mass of the strange quark( ms 0) and study its effects on the stability of quark matter inside a star. We note that the inclusion of strange quark mass affects the gross properties of the stellar configuration, such as maximum mass, surface red-shift, and the radius of strange quark stars. To apply our model physically, we consider three compact objects, namely,(i) VELA X-1,(ii) 4U 1820-30, and(iii) PSR J 1903+327, which are thought to be strange stars. The range of b is restricted from 57.55 to bstable( MeV/fm3), for which strange matter might be stable relative to iron(56Fe). However, we also observe that metastable and unstable strange matter depend on b and ms. All energy conditions hold well in this approach. Stability in terms of the Lagrangian perturbation of radial pressure is studied in this paper.

The field of 2-dimensional (2D) materials has witnessed a sharp growth since its inception and can majorly be attributed to the substantial technical and scientific developments, leading to significant improvements in their syntheses, characterization and applications. In the list of 2D materials, the relatively newer addition is phosphorene, which ideally consists of a single layer of black phosphorous. keeping in mind the past, and ongoing research activities, this short account offers a brief overview of the present status and the associated challenges in the field of phosphorene-related research, with special emphasis on their syntheses, properties, applications and future opportunities.

This paper analyzes a finite-buffer renewal input single server discrete-time queueing system with multiple working vacations. The server works at a different rate rather than completely stopping working during the multiple working vacations. The service times during a service period, service time during a vacation period and vacation times are geometrically distributed. The queue is analyzed using the supplementary variable and the imbedded Markov-chain techniques. We obtain steady-state system length distributions at pre-arrival, arbitrary and outside observer＇s observation epochs. The analysis of actual waiting-time distribution and some performance measures are carried out. We present some numerical results and discuss special cases of the model.

This paper analyzes a discrete-time multiple vacations finite-buffer queueing system with batch renewal input in which inter-arrival time of batches are arbitrarily distributed. Service and vacation times are mutually independent and geometrically distributed. The server takes vacations when the system does not have any waiting jobs at a service completion epoch or a vacation completion epoch. The system is analyzed under the assumptions of late arrival system with delayed access and early arrival system. Using the supplementary variable and the imbedded Markov chain techniques, the authors obtain the queue-length distributions at pre-arrival, arbitrary and outside observer＇s ob- servation epochs for partial-batch rejection policy. The blocking probability of the first, an arbitrary- and the last-job in a batch have been discussed. The analysis of actual waiting-time distributions measured in slots of the first, an arbitrary- and the last-job in an accepted batch, and other performance measures along with some numerical results have also been investigated.

Many elongated, lenticular plutons of porphyritic granitoids are distributed mainly near the southern and northern margin of the Chhotanagpur Gneissic Complex （CGC） which belongs to the EW to ENE-WSW tending 1500 km long Proterozoic orogenic belt amalgamat ng the North and South Indian cratonic blocks. The late Grenvillian （1071 ±64 Ma） Raghunathpur porphyritic granitoid gneiss （PGG） batholith comprising alkali feldspar granite, granite, granodiorite, tonalite, quartz syenite and quartz monzonite intruded into the granitoid gneisses of southeastern part of CGC in the Purulia district, West bengal and is aligned with ENE-WSW trending North Purulia sr^ear zone, Mineral chemistry, geochemistry, physical condition of crystallization and petrogenetic model of Raghunathpur PGG have been discussed for the first time. The petrographic and geochemical features （including major and trace- elements, mineral chemistry and S7Sr/S6Sr ratio） suggest these granitoids to be classified as the shosh- onitic type. Raghunathpur batholith was emplaced at around 800 ~C and at 6 kbar pressure tectonic discrimination diagrams reveal a post-collision tectonic setting while structural studies reveal its emplacement in the extensional fissure of North Purulia shear zone. l＇he Raghunathpur granitoid is compared with some similar granitoids of Europe and China to draw its petrogenetic model. Hybridi- zation of mantle-generated enriched mafic magma and crustal magma at lower crust and later fractional crystallization is proposed for the petrogenesis of this PGG. Mafic magma generated in a post-collisional extension possibly because of delamination of subducting slab. Raghunathpur batholith had emplaced in the CGC during the final amalgamation （~ 1.0 Ga） of the North and South Indian cratonic blocks. Granitoid magma, after its generation at depth, was transported to its present level along megadyke channel, ways within shear zones.

background:Myocardial injury due to ischemia‐reperfusion(IR)is aggravated in diabetes which is associated with oxidative *** oxidative stress via use of antioxidants has been shown to be effective at minimizing myocardial cell death and improving cardiac *** aim of the present study was to evaluate the cardioprotective effect of phloroglucinol against myocardial reperfusion injury(MRI)in diabetic ***:Diabetes was induced in female rats with streptozotocin(50 mg/kg).The diabetic rats were orally treated with phloroglucinol(100 and 200 mg/kg daily for 28 days).After treatment the hearts were isolated and mounted on a Langendorff *** hearts were subjected to 15 minutes of IR to induce myocardial *** functions including heart rate(HR),resting and developed tension,and rate of change of contraction(+dP/dtmax)were *** injury biomarkers lactate dehydrogenase(LDH)and creatine kinase(Ck‐Mb)were measured in the heart *** of the antioxidant enzymes reduced glutathione(GSH)and malondialdehyde(MDA)were *** and eosin(H&E)staining was also ***:After IR injury,a decrease in HR and+dP/dtmax in hearts from diabetic rat was seen compared to healthy rat hearts,which was reversed by phloroglucinol *** infarct size,measured by H&E staining,was increased in diabetic rats compared to healthy rats and an increase in the activity of LDH and Ck‐Mb in the heart perfusate in diabetic rats was decreased by phloroglucinol *** increase in MDA levels and a decrease in levels of antioxidant enzymes were observed in diabetic rats,which was reversed with phloroglucinol ***:Phloroglucinol treatment has potential therapeutic promise in the treatment of MRI in diabetes.

Objective:Mandate from WHO has boosted up anti-filarial drug *** citrate(DEC) was not known for any direct effect on filarial ***,recent report proposed its direct apoptotic *** stress has been implicated in apoptotic impact.A study was designed to explore the possibility of oxidative rationale to be operative in the direct anti-filarial effect of ***:Various doses of DEC and potent oxidant H_2O_2 alone were used in vitro to check for the effects on *** microfilariae,followed by the use of DEC in combination with H_2O_*** of the oxidative impact of the drug was tested using the antioxidant,vitamin C and also lipid peroxidation levels in the post incubation culture supematants were ***:As expected,DEC alone failed to record any anti-filarial effect.H_2O_2 alone also failed to show any significant effect until a very high dose was ***,in combination significant anti-filarial effect was noticed,which allowed even 44%reduction in the dose of H_2O_*** significant lipid peroxidation was not *** C demonstrated 30%inhibitory ***:DEC and H_2O_2 combination being able to educe synergistic anti-filarial effect and inhibition of the same by vitamin C hinted towards covert oxidative component in the mechanism of *** implication of non-significant lipid peroxidation was addressed in the perspective of subtle oxidative nexus that seems to be operative in observed anti-filarial effect. Exploration of such rationale might lead to novel drug development.
