Modeling and Implementation of AC Electrical Capacitance Tomography

Electrical Capacitance Tomography (ECT) determines the dielectric permittivity of the interior object depending on the measurements of exterior capacitance. Generally, the electrodes are placed outside the PVC cylinder where the medium to be imaged is present;but in ECT using inter-electrode capacitance measurements can be achieved by placing inside of the dielectric medium. In the proposed ECT system, the ECT sensor is modeled using ANSYS software and the model is implemented in real ECT system. For each step of measurement, a stable AC signal is applied to a pair of electrodes that form a capacitor. The novel system is to measure the capacitance range variation in picofarad and the corresponding voltage ranges from 1 volt to 4 volts. The switching speed of all combinational electrodes is implemented using embedded system to achieve higher speed performance of AC ECT system which eliminates the drift and stray capacitance error. This is yielding the original image of unk.own multiphase medium inside the electrodes using Lab VIEW. This paper investigates several advantages such as improved overall system performance;simple structure, avoids stray capacitance effect, reduces the drift problem and achieves high signal to noise ratio.

Design of an Efficient Binary Vedic Multiplier for High Speed Applications Using Vedic Mathematics with Bit Reduction Technique

Vedic mathematics is the system of mathematics followed in ancient Indian and it is applied in various mathematical branches. The word “Vedic” represents the storehouse of all k.owledge. Because using Vedic Mathematics, the arithmetical problems are solved easily. The mathematical algorithms are formed from 16 sutras and 13 up-sutras. But there are some limitations in each sutra. Here, two sutras Nik.ilam sutra and k.ratsuba algorithm are considered. In this research paper, a novel algorithm for binary multiplication based on Vedic mathematics is designed using bit reduction technique. Though Nik.ilam sutra is used for multiplication, it is not used in all applications. Because it is special in multiplication. The remainder is derived from this sutra by reducing the remainder bit size to N-2 bit. Here, the number of bits of the remainder is constantly maintained as N-2 bits. By using k.ratsuba algorithm, the overall structure of the multiplier is designed. Unlik. the conventional k.ratsuba algorithm, the proposed algorithm requires only one multiplier with N-2 bits only. The speed of the proposed algorithm is improved with balancing the area and the power. Even though there is a deviation in lower order bits, this method shows larger difference in higher bit lengths.

QoS Aware Routing Protocol to Improve Pack.t Transmission in Shadow-Fading Environment for Mobile Ad Hoc Network.

In Shadow-Fading model, it is difficult to achieve higher Pack.t Delivery Ratio (PDR) due to the effects of large scale fading. The main goal of this paper is to improve the PDR in Shadow-Fading environment. To achieve this objective a protocol has been proposed that discovers back.p routes for active sessions. These back.p routes salvage the pack.ts of active session in case of active route failure. It is found by research that proactively maintaining back.p routes for ac-tive sessions can noticeably improve the PDR in Shadow-Fading environment. This protocol has been implemented with a mechanism of having back.p routes and simulations have been conducted by using both node disjoint paths and link.disjoint paths. Comparisons have been made between new protocol as well as AODV protocol. Simulation has been carried out using Network.Simulator 2 (NS2) and the results show that the proposed QoSAR protocol exhibits higher PDR than AODV protocol in Shadow-fading environment.

Can we predict the incidence of high-grade Clavien-Dindo complications in patients with forgotten encrusted stents undergoing endourologic management?

Objective:Ureteral stents are customarily inserted to facilitate urinary drainage,but they come with their own glitches of being forgotten and/or encrusted leading to serious *** present study aimed to report the complications in patients with forgotten and encrusted stents according to the Clavien-Dindo system specific to urological procedures and identify the factors leading to high-grade(Clavien-Dindo Grade 4A or above)***:The hospital records of patients with forgotten encrusted double-J stents over a period of 8 years were *** parameters recorded included patient demographics,indwelling time,need for percutaneous nephrostomy,hemodialysis,urine culture,blood culture,total blood counts,serum creatinine,radiologic findings,management techniques,number of surgical interventions,modified Clavien-Dindo complications,follow-up,and mortality,if ***:Forty patients were included in the *** median age was 52(range 6-85)*** the total,25(62.5%)patients had a“significant”stent load;31(77.5%)had renal failure or acute k.dney injury on presentation;19(47.5%)patients had sepsis at *** the patients presented with sepsis,11(57.9%)patients demonstrated a positive urine culture;and 7/11(63.6%)patients exhibited pan-resistant *** out of 40(30.0%)patients in our series developed high-grade Clavien-Dindo *** univariate analysis,sepsis at presentation(p=0.007),stent load(p=0.031),diabetes(p=0.023),positive urine culture(p=0.007),and stent indwelling time of more than 1 year(p=0.031)were found to be *** multivariate logistic regression analysis,sepsis at presentation(p=0.017)and positive urine culture(p=0.016)were significant predictors for high-grade ***:It is prudent to identify specific risk.factors,namely sepsis at presentation and positive urine culture to triage and optimize these patients before surgical management.

The balance between the imprecision noise and the quantum back.ction(QBA) noise impose a standard quantum limit(SQL)on the quality of measurement [1].

This study investigated the atomic-scale deformation mechanism of multiphase CoCrFeNi high-entropy alloys(HEAs)at liquid helium,liquid nitrogen,and room temperatures.A million-atom multiphase HEA was prepared using molecular dynamics simulation involving melt and quench *** HEA exhibited high-density dislocations and some twins,consistent with experimental *** analysis revealed an inconsistent evolution of the microstructure under tensile *** particular,the elastic and initial plastic stages exhibited an increase in the disordered structure at the expense of the face-centered cubic and hexagonal close-pack.d structures,followed by a subsequent transformation involving multiple structural ***,through sparse identification,a model depicting microstructural evolution during tension was extracted for the CoCrFeNi HEA at three typical temperatures and three tensile *** model highlighted the importance of the body-centered cubic structure in the evolutionary process.

Performance of Continuous Wavelet Transform over Fourier Transform in Features Resolutions

This study presents a comparative analysis of two image enhancement techniques, Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), in the context of improving the clarity of high-quality 3D seismic data obtained from the Tano Basin in West Africa, Ghana. The research focuses on a comparative analysis of image clarity in seismic attribute analysis to facilitate the identification of reservoir features within the subsurface structures. The findings of the study indicate that CWT has a significant advantage over FFT in terms of image quality and identifying subsurface structures. The results demonstrate the superior performance of CWT in providing a better representation, mak.ng it more effective for seismic attribute analysis. The study highlights the importance of choosing the appropriate image enhancement technique based on the specific application needs and the broader context of the study. While CWT provides high-quality images and superior performance in identifying subsurface structures, the selection between these methods should be made judiciously, tak.ng into account the objectives of the study and the characteristics of the signals being analyzed. The research provides valuable insights into the decision-mak.ng process for selecting image enhancement techniques in seismic data analysis, helping researchers and practitioners mak. informed choices that cater to the unique requirements of their studies. Ultimately, this study contributes to the advancement of the field of subsurface imaging and geological feature identification.

A cross-sectional study of breastfed infants referred for tongue tie assessment and frenotomy in one Canadian health region

Importance:Tongue tie(TT)is a condition that can cause infant feeding difficulties due to restricted tongue *** TT presents as a significant barrier to breastfeeding,a frenotomy may be *** accepted diagnostic criteria for TT are lack.ng and wide prevalence estimates are *** referral processes and a Frenotomy Assessment Tool were implemented in one Canadian health region to connect breastfeeding dyads with a provider for TT evaluation and ***:To determine the proportion of babies with TT as well as the frequency of ***:This cross-sectional study included infants who initiated breastfeeding at birth and were referred for TT evaluation over a 14-month *** were collected retrospectively by chart review and analyzed using *** associated with frenotomy were examined using logistic ***:Two hundred and forty-one babies were ***-two percent(n=222)were diagnosed with TT and 66.0%(n=159)underwent *** the multivariate model,nipple pain/trauma,inability to latch,inability to elevate tongue,and dimpling of tongue on extension were associated with frenotomy(P<0.05).Most referrals in our region resulted in a diagnosis of TT;however,the number of referrals was lower than expected,and of these two-thirds underwent ***:TT is a relatively common finding among breastfed *** research should examine whether a simplified assessment tool containing the four items associated with frenotomy in our multivariate model can identify breastfed infants with TT who require frenotomy.
