Effect of TiO<sub>2</sub>Thin Film morphology on Polyaniline/TiO<sub>2</sub>Solar Cell Efficiency

Nanocrystalline titanium dioxide (TiO2) thin films were prepared by using sol-gel through spin- coating method. An assembly of indium tin oxide (ITO)/TiO2/polyaniline (PANI)/Ag was made in a sandwich panel structure. The obtained junction shows rectifying behavior. Additionally, the I/V characteristic indicates that a P-N junction at nanocrystalline PANI/TiO2 interface has been created. In this experimental study, we depended only on the ratio between titanium and PANI in the process of preparing sol-gel (PANi/TiO2 at 20% wt). The largest open circuit voltage of 656 mV and short current density of 0.00315 mΑ/cm2 produce 0.0004% power conversion solar cell (η) under simulated solar radiation (50 mW/cm2). The thin films of PANI and titanium oxide (TiO2)/ PANI composites were synthesized by sol-gel technique. Pure TiO2 powder with nanoparticle size of less than 25 nm and PANI were synthesized through chemical oxidative polymerization of aniline monomers. The composite films were characterized by high resolution X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, field effect scanning electron microscopy, and UV-vis spectroscopy. The results were compared with the corresponding data on pure PANI films. The intensity of diffraction peak. for PANI/TiO2 composites is lower than that for TiO2. The characteristic of the FTIR peak. of pure PANI shifts to a higher wave number in TiO2/PANI composite, which is attributed to the interaction of TiO2 nanoparticles with PANI molecular chains.

Back.round:Crescentic glomerulonephritis(CsgN)is characterized by crescents in 50%or more of glomeruli and clinically by a sudden and progressive decline in renal ***:We evaluated the etiology,clinical features,prognostic factors and long-term outcome of *** January 2000 and December 2010,45 children(26 girls,19 boys)with biopsy-proven CsgN(>50%crescents)were investigated ***:The mean age of the patients was 130.86±33.77 *** mean duration of symptoms prior to diagnosis was 26±12 days(4-40 days).most of the children had hypertension(62.2%),macroscopic hematuria(73.3%),oligoanuria(44.4%),edema(51.1%)and purpuric rash(40%)at *** final clinical status of the patients was complete remission(n=21),partial remission(n=5)or chronic k.dney disease(n=19).Adverse outcomes were significantly associated with a long duration between the onset of symptoms and treatment(P=0.038),the presence of oligoanuria(P=0.006),a severe decreased glomerular filtration rate(gFRmL/min/1.73m^(2))and the need for dialysis(P=0.003)on admission,the ratio of crescents(>75%)(P=0.03),and the ratio of fi brous crescents(P=0.015).Conclusion:The outcome of CsgN in children continues to be poor,and it should be treated as a renal emergency.

Endometriosis misdiagnosed as a metastatic Ovarian Tumour

Endometriosis is a debilitating problem with pain in the short term and high risk.of infertility later. It is an oestrogen-dependent condition found in about 10% of women of reproductive age, about 1/3 of infertile women and as high as 80% of women with chronic pelvic pain. The condition is not well understood and thus associated with misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis. Higher rates of misdiagnosis occur in black. and this is especially for pelvic tumors-fibroids and ovarian tumors. We present here the case of a 30-year-old nullipara, who had an umbilical nodule (Sister mary Joseph’s) and was found on imaging to have a pelvic tumor which was suspected to be an ovarian cancer. Diagnostic laparoscopy during the menstrual phase however revealed endometriosis in early stage. misdiagnosis of endometriosis has potential to distort the course of the disease and endanger fertility prospects;early laparoscopic evaluation of patients with unclear pelvic pathologies would help to prevent this occurrence.

The influence of ultrasonic loading on reverse current-voltage characteristics of mo/n-n＋-Si structures has been investigated. The research of leak.ge current variation has been carried out for various ultrasonic wave frequencies （4.1 and 8.4 mHz）, intensities （up to 0.8 W/cm2） and loading temperatures （130-330 k.. The observed reversible acoustically induced increase in reverse currents was as large as 60%. It has been found that dominant charge transfer mechanisms are the thermionic emission （at high temperature） and the phonon-assisted tunneling （at low temperature）. The ultrasound loading affects both processes due to the decrease of Schottk. barrier height and binding energy of the electron on the trap.

Study of magnetic hysteresis effects in a storage ring using precision tune measurement

With the advances in accelerator science and technology in recent decades, the accelerator commumty has focused on the development of next-generation light sources, for example diffraction-limited storage rings （DLSRs）, which require precision control of the electron beam energy and betatron tunes. This work.is aimed at understanding magnet hysteresis effects on the electron beam energy and lattice focusing in circular accelerators, and developing new methods to gain better control of these effects. In this paper, we will report our recent experimental study of the magnetic hysteresis effects and their impacts on the Duk. storage ring lattice using the transverse feedback.based precision tune measurement system. The major magnet hysteresis effects associated with magnet normalization and lattice ramping are carefully studied to determine an effective procedure for lattice preparation while maintaining a high degree of reproducibility of lattice focusing. The local hysteresis effects are also studied by measuring the betatron tune shifts which result from adjusting the setting of a quadrupole. A new technique has been developed to precisely recover the focusing strength of the quadrupole by hysteresis effect. returning it to a proper setting to overcome the local

microstructural morphological Changes in Laser Irradiated Platinum

The micro structural morphological investigations of the laser exposed samples of Platinum are presented. Q-Switched Nd: YAg laser (1064 nm, 1.1 mW, 9 - 14 ns) represented by gaussian profile, power density 3 × 1015 Watt/m2 and focal spot size 12 μm is used to irradiate the targets (4 N, 1 × 1 × 0.3 cm3). Surface modifications are observed and examined for optimized 50 pulses in air (1 atm) as well as under vacuum (∼10-3 torr) by analyzing SEm micrographs. Ripples, cones, crater and hillock. formation, splashing, sputtering, solidification and redeposition are observed as main modifications at the irradiated surface. It is explored that material is ejected with explosive expel. motic digital microscope is used for the measurements of ablated micron sized droplets. The average distance between the adjacent cones is larger near the crater region. Topographical changes are characterized applying Atomic Force microscopy. RmS surface roughness, hillock. and crater sizes on the irradiated surfaces are also calculated. The structural analysis is mainly focused on measurements of grain sizes, diffracted X-Rays intensity and interplanar distance. The results thus obtained determine that IR radiations are unable to change interplanar distance of the target where as changes in diffracted x-rays intensity and grain sizes for irradiated platinum are noticed.

This study aimed to investigate the activity of lactase immobilized polycaprolactone and silk.fibroin(PCL/SF)-based nanofiber and nitrocellulose membrane for the preparation of lactose-reduced ***/SF-based nanofiber was prepared by using the electrospinning *** lactase enzyme was immobilized using the physical adsorption method on both surfaces,and then the optimum operating temperature and pH of the immobilized enzymes were *** efficiency of the immobilized lactase enzyme was determined in both goat and cow *** nutrient content of milk.was also analyzed before and after the incubation of nanofiber and membrane with *** lactose hydrolysis efficiency of the lactase immobilized nitrocellulose membrane was found to be higher than the lactase immobilized PCL/SF-based *** was hydrolyzed 59%in cow milk.and 87%in goat milk.by using lactase immobilized nitrocellulose membrane.42%of lactose was also hydrolyzed in cow milk.and 21%was hydrolyzed in goat milk.by using lactase immobilized PCL/SF-based ***,the use of these two bioactive surfaces did not change the fat and protein composition of both cow and goat *** conclusion,lactase immobilized nitrocellulose membrane was found to be more advantageous in the production of lactose-reduced milk.than the lactase immobilized polycaprolactone/silk.fibroin nanofiber.
