Mesozoic Fangcheng basalts from the North China Craton contain many clinopyroxene xenocrysts and pyroxenite xenoliths, which provide important information about melt circulation and crust-mantle interaction in the evolution of the sub-continental lithosphere beneath the *** the xenocrysts show textural and chemical *** zoning is mostly simple(simply-zoned), but some show complex patterns(complexly-zoned).In-situ major and trace element analyses suggest that all the simply-zoned xenocrysts may have been disaggregated from pyroxenite veins at mantle *** zoning is interpreted to result from chemical exchange with the host magma after their *** complexly-zoned xenocrysts record a complicated history of the lithospheric evolution:their cores could preserve information of high-temperature granulite-facies metamorphism in the lower crust and their intermediary zones might record metamorphic overgrowth in the mantle spinel-facies stability ***,the cores of the complexly-zoned xenocrysts have probably been derived from the Archean lower crust or newly-accreted lower crust and the intermediary zones could be formed through crust-mantle *** the pyroxenite xenoliths are cumulates and were crystallized from the LREE enriched melts at mantle depth or crust-mantle transitional *** the clinopyroxene xenocrysts and pyroxenite xenoliths provide evidence for the existence of considerable crust-mantle interaction and melt circulation in the lithospheric mantle,which led to rapid lithospheric enrichment.

It is well k.own that chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) occasionally arises in patients harboring an arachnoid cyst (AC) located in the middle fossa. Although the pathogenesis of CSDH associated with ACs remains unk.own, several possible mechanisms have been proposed. In many reported cases, the patients with ACs in the middle fossa would be symptomatic according to development of CSDH. A 9-year-old girl presenting with a headache, nausea, and diplopia was referred to our department. Magnetic resonance imaging showed an AC in the left-side middle fossa and ipsilateral CSDH with a remark.ble mass effect. Irrigation of the CSDH, partial removal of the outer membrane of the AC and CSDH, and endoscopic cystocisternostomy were performed to relieve her symptoms. Postoperative clinical course was excellent. Histopathological examination of the outer membrane of the CSDH demonstrated an arachnoid cell layer and hemorrhage from the granulation inside the membrane, and collagen fibers outside the membrane. These findings strongly suggested that the membrane and the content of the CSDH were derived from the outer membrane of the AC, and the CSF including the hemorrhage within the membrane, respectively. Laceration and hemorrhage from granulation tissue within the outer membrane of the AC are considered as one of the developmental mechanisms of the CSDH associated with AC in the middle fossa.

The permittivities and the resistance to moisture of LaYOx(LYO) films annealed at 600℃with different Y concentrations are *** permittivities of 40%Y-LYO film and 70%Y-LYO film are higher than 25 The high permittivities come from the well crystallized hexagonal phase of LYO *** rare earth oxides,the hexagonal phase shows higher permittivity than the cubic phase due to the smaller molar volume of the hexagonal ***,the high permittivity LYO films(40%Y-LYO and 70%Y-LYO) show strong resistance to the moisture due to the introduction of YO which owns stronger resistance to the moisture than LaO.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa) frequently causes various infections, some of which are serious and require prompt medical detection and appropriate antibiotic selection. Although P. aeruginosa commonly exists within the nasal cavity, meningitis or ventriculitis following transsphenoidal surgery to relieve P. aeruginosa has been reported only occasionally. However, as the endoscopic transnasal approach is more widely utilized for the suprasellar lesions, nosocomical P. aeruginosa infection associated with cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak.ge becomes more common in patients with panhypopituitarism who undergo transsphenoidal surgery. We report a case of a 36-year-old man with an intrasellar craniopharyngioma presenting with an acute obstructive hydrocephalus caused by P. aeruginosa ventriculitis following transsphenoidal surgery. Treatment with optimal antibiotics was initiated immediately after P. aeruginosa was recognized as the pathogen, and was continued for 3 months. After removal of the infected fascia and fat graft used for the closure of CSF leak.ge and sellar floor reconstruction, endoscopic third ventriculostomy was successfully performed to treat the obstructive hydrocephalus induced by the occlusion of the fourth ventricle outlet, resulting in a positive outcome. Although the obstructive hydrocephalus caused by P. aeruginosa is extremely rare, prompt detection and appropriate treatment should be required once P. aeruginosa ventriculitis happens.

CBIR系统由于受图像低层特征的限制,制约了它的检索效果。机器学习和统计方法是一种有效的提高检索性能的方法,但通常需要大量的训练样本才能达到满意的检索精度。提出一种理想的距离度量函数,在对图像进行简单分类并提供少量训练样本的基础上,通过类的距离度量矩阵M的学习来考虑分量之间的相关性。这个度量导入二次最佳化问题的解,将训练样本类结构的倾斜最小化。试验结果表明,该方法能在学习样本极少的情况下提高检索的性能。

Ectopic hepatocellular carcinoma arising from pancreas: A case report and review of the literature

A 56-year-old man was found to have a pancreatic tail tumor. His blood chemistry showed no infection with hepatitis B or C virus and no elevations of tumor mark.rs or pancreatic hormones. Abdominal ultrasound showed an encapsulated, rather heterogeneous, hypoechoic tumor, 6.5 cm in maximum diameter, with a beak.sign. Helical dynamic CT revealed an irregularly enhanced tumor with pooling of contrast medium in the delayed phase. Abdominal angiography showed a hypervascular tumor. With a tentative diagnosis of non-functional islet-cell tumor, the patient underwent resection of the pancreatic body and tail with splenectomy. The contour of the liver and its surface were normal. In microscopic examination, tumor cells arranged in a trabecular pattern with focal bile pigment resembling hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Immunohistochemically, these tumor cells were positivefor HEPPAR-1, CAM5.2, cytok.ratin 18 and COX-2, but negative for MUC-1, and cytok.ratins 7, 20 and 8. These results supported a diagnosis of HCC without any adenocarcinoma component. The patient is currently doing well without any signs of recurrence in either the remaining pancreas or liver three years after surgery. We report the rare case with ectopic HCC in the pancreas with a review of the literature.

Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is now the most common endoscopic treatment in Japan for intramucosal gastrointestinal neoplasms (non-metastatic). ESD is an invasive endoscopic surgical procedure, requiring extensive k.owledge, sk.ll, and specialized equipment. ESD starts with evaluation of the lesion, as accurate assessment of the depth and margin of the lesion is essential. The devices and strategies used in ESD vary, depending on the nature of the lesion. Prior to the procedure, the operator must be k.owledgeable about the treatment strategy(ies), the device(s) to use, the electrocautery machine settings, the substances to inject, and other aspects. In addition, the operator must be able to manage complications, should they arise, including immediate recognition of the complication(s) and its treatment. Finally, in case the ESD treatment is not successful, the operator should be prepared to apply alternative treatments. Thus, adequate k.owledge and training are essential to successfully perform ESD.

An Improvement of Pedestrian Detection Method with Multiple Resolutions

In object detection, detecting an object with 100 pixels is substantially different from detecting an object with 10 pixels. Many object detection algorithms assume that the pedestrian scale is fixed during detection, such as the DPM detector. However, detectors often give rise to different detection effects under the circumstance of different scales. If a detector is used to perform pedestrian detection in different scales, the accuracy of pedestrian detection could be improved. A multi-resolution DPM pedestrian detection algorithm is proposed in this paper. During the stage of model training, a resolution factor is added to a set of hidden variables of a latent SVM model. Then, in the stage of detection, a standard DPM model is used for the high resolution objects and a rigid template is adopted in case of the low resolution objects. In our experiments, we find that in case of low resolution objects the detection accuracy of a standard DPM model is lower than that of a rigid template. In Caltech, the omission ratio of a multi-resolution DPM detector is 52% with 1 false positive per image (1FPPI);and the omission ratio rises to 59% (1FPPI) as far as a standard DPM detector is concerned. In the large-scale sample set of Caltech, the omission ratios given by the multi-resolution and the standard DPM detectors are 18% (1FPPI) and 26% (1FPPI), respectively.
