Fluorescence imaging in the second near-infrared window(NIR-II,900–1880 nm)with less scattering background in biological tissues has been combined with the confocal microscopic system for achieving deep in vivo imaging with high spatial ***,the traditional NIR-IIfluorescence confocal microscope with separate excitation focus and detection pinhole makes it possess low confocal e±ciency,as well as di±cultly to *** types of upgraded NIR-IIfluorescence confocal microscopes,sharing the same pinhole by excitation and emission focus,leading to higher confocal e±ciency,are built in this *** type is-ber-pinhole-based confocal microscope applicable to cw laser *** is constructed forfluorescence intensity imaging with large depth,high stabilization and low cost,which could replace multiphotonfluorescence microscopy in some applications(e.g.,cerebrovascular and hepatocellular imaging).The other type is air-pinhole-based confocal microscope applicable to femtosecond(fs)laser *** can be employed not only for NIR-IIfluorescence intensity imaging,but also for multi-channelfluorescence lifetime imaging to recognize different structures with similarfluorescence ***,it can be facilely combined with multiphotonfluorescence microscopy.A single fs pulsed laser is utilized to achieve up-conversion(visible multiphotonfluorescence)and down-conversion(NIR-II one-photonfluorescence)excitation simultaneously,extending imaging spectral channels,and thus facilitates multi-structure and multi-functional observation.

Constructed wetlands(cws)are widely used to treat secondary ***,simultaneously removing ammonia(NH_(4)^(+)-N)and nitrate(NO_(3)^(–)–N)is challenging because of insufficient oxygen and carbon *** this study,a novel composite material(MPCM)comprising MnO_(2) and polycaprolactone was developed as a substrate for cws to enhance the synchronous removal of NH_(4)^(+)–N and NO_(3)^(–)–*** cws with a higher MPCM content(H-cw),lower MPCM content(Lcw),and controlled cw(C-cw)exhibited average NH_(4)^(+)–N removal efficiencies of 75.69%,70.49%,and 52.40%,*** 15N isotope tracking technique showed that NH_(4)^(+)–N removal was attributed to anaerobic ammonia oxidation mediated by MnO2 reduction(Mnammox),which accounted for 17.16%–27.24%of the NH_(4)^(+)–N removal in the composite material layers(0–20 cm)of the H-cw and *** richness of ammonia oxidizers in the upper layers(40–50 cm)of the Hcw and L-cw further facilitated NH_(4)^(+)–N ***,the average total nitrogen(TN)removal efficiencies of the H-cw and L-cw were 1.99 and 1.59 times that of C-cw,respectively,owing to enhanced denitrification by ***,N_(2)O emissions were reduced by 81.31%and 70.83%in the H-cw and L-cw,*** study provides an effective approach for improving nitrogen removal and reducing N2O emissions during the treatment of secondary effluent by cws.

In the Stratonovich-Taylor and Stratonovich-Taylor-Hall discretization schemes for stochastic differential equations (SDEs), there appear two types of multiple stochastic integrals respectively. The present work is to approximate these multiple stochastic integrals by converting them into systems of simple SDEs and solving the systems by lower order numerical schemes. The reliability of this approach is clarified in theory and demonstrated in numerical examples. In consequence, the results are applied to the strong discretization of both continuous and jump SDEs.

Previous studies have found that drivers’physiological conditions can deteriorate under noise conditions,which poses a potential hazard when *** a result,it is crucial to identify the status of drivers when exposed to different ***,such explo-rations are rarely discussed with short-term physiological indicators,especially for rail transit *** this study,an experiment involving 42 railway transit drivers was conducted with a driving simulator to assess the impact of noise on drivers’physiological *** the individuals’heterogeneity,this study introduced drivers’noise annoyance to measure their *** variances of drivers’heart rate variability(HRV)along with different noise adaptions are explored when exposed to different noise *** machine learning approaches(support vector machine,K-nearest neighbour and random forest)were then used to classify their physiological status under different noise conditions according to the HRV and drivers’self-noise *** indicate that the volume of traffic noise negatively affects drivers’performance in their *** with different noise adaptions but exposed to a fixed noise were found with discrepant HRV,demonstrating that noise adaption is highly associated with drivers’physiological status under *** is also found that noise adaption inclusion could raise the accuracy of ***,the random forests classifier performed the best in identifying the physiological status when exposed to noise conditions for drivers with different noise adaptions.

Androgens have potent anabolic effects on skeletal muscle and decline with age in parallel to losses in muscle mass and strength. This loss of muscle mass and function, known as sarcopenia, is the central event in development of frailty, the vulnerable health status that presages adverse outcomes and rapid functional decline in older adults. The potential role of falling androgen levels in the development of frailty and their utility as function promoting therapies in older men has therefore attracted considerable attention. This review summarizes current concepts and definitions in muscle ageing, sarcopenia and frailty, and evaluates recent developments in the study of androgens and frailty. Current evidence from observational and interventional studies strongly supports an effect of androgens on muscle mass in ageing men, but effects on muscle strength and particularly physical function have been less clear. Androgen treatment has been generally well-tolerated in studies of older men, but concerns remain over higher dose treatments and use in populations with high cardiovascular risk. The first trials of selective androgen receptor modulators （SARMs） suggest similar effects on muscle mass and function to traditional androgen therapies in older adults. Important future directions include the use of these agents in combination with exercise training to promote functional ability across different populations of older adults, as well as more focus on the relationships between concurrent changes in hormone levels, body composition and physical function in observational studies.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a complex symptom-based disorder without established biomarkers or putative pathophysiology. IBS is a common functional gastrointestinal disorder which is defined as recurrent abdominal pain or discomfort that has at least two of the following symptoms for 3 d per month in the past 3 mo according to ROME III: relief by defecation, onset associated with a change in stool frequency or onset with change in appearance or form of stool. Recent discoveries revealed genetic polymorphisms in specific cytokines and neuropeptides may possibly influence the frequencies and severity of symptoms, as well as the therapeutic responses in treating IBS patients. This review gives new insights on how genetic determinations influence in clinical manifestations, treatment responses and potential biomarkers of IBS.

Objective: To determine how safe and effective Chinese Herbal Medicine(CHM) is in alleviating the nausea, vomiting, oral ulceration,diarrhea and constipation for cancer patients with ***: Data sources: A systematic review of Chinese and English articles using Ovid SP, CNKI, VIP Database and Traditional Chinese Medicine Database System. Study selection: Only randomized controlled trials(RCTs) for the prevention or treatment of any one of gastrointestinal side effects, namely nausea, vomiting, oral ulceration, diarrhea and constipation, of CHM with or without western medicine(WM) vs WM, placebo or no treatment were included. Data Extraction: Independent extraction of articles was first performed by four medical students using predefined data fields. Then, all data, including study quality indicators, was checked by two ***: Eighty-six RCTs involving 7076 cancer patients were found and analyzed in this review. Because of the heterogeneity of study design and low overall methodological quality, only descriptive summaries were performed. Beneficial effects were found in some CHM interventions,regardless of being taken alone or taken with WM. Moreover, none of serious adverse effect was reported. However, same intervention had not been repeatedly investigated by different research ***: Implications of the analysis support the efficacy and safety of CHM for the management of gastrointestinal side ***, definite clinical recommendation for particular CHM intervention still cannot be made due to low methodological quality of included studies and lack of duplicated verification. Further large scale and high quality RCTs on the same CHM interventions are suggested.

In recent years, social research surrounding the consequences of infertility has increasingly focused on the male perspective;however, a gap exists in the understanding of men’s experiences of male infertility treatment. This review aims to synthesize theexisting evidence concerning the psychological, social, and sexual burden of male infertility treatment on men, as well as patientneeds during clinical care. A systematic search identified 12 studies that are diverse in design, setting, and methods. Psychologicalevaluations have found that urological surgery may have a lasting impact on infertility-specific stress, and treatment failure canlead to feelings of depression, grief, and inadequacy. Men tended to have an avoidant coping mechanism throughout fertilitytreatment, and their self-esteem, relationship quality, and sexual functions can be tied to outcomes of treatment. Partner bonds canbe strengthened by mutual support and enhanced communication;couple separation, however, has been noted as a predominantreason for discontinuing male infertility treatment and may be associated with difficult circumstances surrounding severe maleinfertility. Surgical treatments can affect the sexual functioning of infertile men;however, the impact of testicular sperm extractionoutcomes appears to be psychologically driven whereas the improvements after microsurgical varicocelectomy are only evident inhypogonadal men. Clinically, there is a need for better inclusion, communication, education, and resource provision, to addressreported issues of marginalization and uncertainty in men. Routine psychosocial screening in cases of severe male infertility andfollow-up in cases of surgical treatment failure are likely beneficial.
