Arthroscopic treatment of iliopsoas tendinitis after total hip arthroplasty with acetabular cup malposition: Two case reports

BACKGROuND Optimal treatment for iliopsoas tendinitis after total hip arthroplasty(THA)with cup malposition,iliopsoas release alone or with cup revision,is controversial,particularly in young,active ***,arthroscopic iliopsoas tendon(IPT)release in these patients has been rarely described,and midterm effects of this procedure on THA longevity and groin pain recurrence remain *** performed arthroscopic IPT release after THA and report midterm outcomes in two young patients with acetabular cup *** SuMMARY In the two patients,groin pain started early after *** examination revealed nonspecific findings,and laboratory tests showed no evidence of *** and computed tomography showed reduced acetabular component anteversion angle and anterior cup prominence of more than 16 *** therapeutic diagnosis,ultrasonography-guided lidocaine with steroid was injected into the IPT *** both patients,groin pain improved initially but worsened after a few ***,the patients underwent arthroscopic IPT release under spinal *** revealed synovitis with fibrous tissues around the IPT and various lesions related to the implants after *** tenotomy and debridement with biopsy were performed;histopathologic studies showed chronic inflammation with synovial *** patients were encouraged to start walking immediately after surgery,and they returned to complete daily function early after *** experienced no recurrence of groin pain or any implant-related problems 5 years *** Arthroscopic IPT release for cup malposition produced excellent midterm outcomes without recurrence of groin pain and implant-related problems.

Objectives:We investigated whether the selective cerebral perfusion(SCP)technique causes differences in changes in cerebral perfusion between both hemispheres in young infants,using cerebral oxygen saturation(ScO2)as an ***,we determined the association between the discrepancy in ScO2 and cerebral perfu-sion pressure during ***:The difference in ScO2 between the left and right cerebral hemispheres(ΔScO2 Rt-Lt)was calculated during clamping of the innominate artery(IA)and during ***:In 25 infants(aged 2 to 78 days),the left and right ScO2 were well maintained(median 63.2%and 60.9%during IA clamping,respectively;64.0%and 65.6%during SCP,respectively).During IA clamping,right and left ScO2 decreased(med-ian-1.4%and-1.0%,respectively).During SCP,rightΔScO2 was higher compared to leftΔScO2(median 1.5%vs.0.6%;pughout *** had lowerΔScO2 Rt-Lt during IA clamping(median-3.2%vs.0.0%;puring SCP than others(median 5.0%vs.-0.8%;puring and after SCP,the correlation coefﬁcient between rightΔScO2 and change in the mean arterial pressure was higher in patients with a discrepancy than in others(r=0.731 vs.r=0.519;pusions:This study suggests that SCP permits adequate bilateral cerebral ***,the unilateral cerebral perfusion technique may cause a difference in cerebral perfusion between both hemispheres in young infants;this may depend on the perfusion pressure.

Osteopontin(OPN)is an extracellular matrix protein with a diverse range of functions,including roles in cell adhesion,migration,and immunomodulation,which are associated with the modulation of neuroinflammation in the central nervous *** present study was performed to evaluate the involvement of OPN in the eyes of an experimental autoimmune uveoretinitis(EAu)*** EAu model was developed by immunization of Lewis rats with interphotoreceptor retinoid-binding *** results showed the OPN level was remarkably upregulated in the eye of EAu rats on day 9 *** level of CD44,a ligand of OPN,was increased in the ciliary body of EAu ***,OPN was also detected in the ciliary body and activated microglia/macrophages in the EAu *** results suggest that OPN was significantly upregulated in the eyes of EAu rats,and that it may be useful as an early biomarker of ocular autoimmune *** animal experiments were approved by the Institutional Animal Care and use Committee of Jeju National university(approval No.2020-0012)on March 11,2020.

Recent cumulative findings signify the adaptive immunity of materials as a key agenda in tissue healing that can improve regenerative events and outcomes. Modulating immune responses, mainly the recruitment and functions of T and B cells and their further interplay with innate immune cells (e.g., dendritic cells, macrophages) can be orchestrated by materials. For instance, decellularized matrices have been shown to promote muscle healing by inducing T helper 2 (Th2) cell immunity, while synthetic biopolymers exhibit differential effects on B cell responses and fibrosis compared decellularized matrices. We discuss the recent findings on how implantable materials instruct the adaptive immune events and the subsequent tissue healing process. In particular, we dissect the materials’ physicochemical properties (shape, size, topology, degradation, rigidity, and matrix dynamic mechanics) to demonstrate the relations of these parameters with the adaptive immune responses in vitro and the underlying biological mechanisms. Furthermore, we present evidence of recent in vivo phenomena, including tissue healing, cancer progression, and fibrosis, wherein biomaterials potentially shape adaptive immune cell functions and in vivo outcomes. Our discussion will help understand the materials-regulated immunology events more deeply, and offer the design rationale of materials with tunable matrix properties for accelerated tissue repair and regeneration.

In this study,the improvement effects of oral administration of polysaccharides isolated from Saururus chinensis on a DSS-induced ulcerative colitis mouse model were *** achieve this,***-derived crude polysaccharides(SCP)were extracted using hot water extraction and ethanol *** is composed primarily of eight monosaccharides,including galacturonic acid(46.6%),galactose(10.4%),arabinose(5.6%),and rhamnose(3.8%),that are typical sugar components of pectic *** administration of SCP recovered body weight loss and significantly alleviated various ulcerative colitis symptoms such as stool consistency,blood in stool,and blood in the ***,the DSS-treated group that exhibited a decrease in colon length,and SCP treatment significantly reduced colon length shortening in a dose-dependent *** of inflammatory factors such as interleukin-6,tumor necrosis factor-α,and myeloperoxidase were lower in the SCP-treated groups than they were in the DSS-treated *** contrast,Alcian blue-periodic acid Schiff staining revealed that SCP treatment effectively maintained the amount of mucus and goblet cells in the intestinal lumen compared to that in the DSS-treated *** short-chain fatty acid content decreased by DSS administration was recovered through oral administration of SCP,and the amount of butyric acid was significantly ***,the aforementioned results suggest that SCP isolated from *** is a potent candidate for use as a new health functional food and pharmaceutical ingredient for colitis treatment.

A cobalt-silica hybrid nanocatalyst bearing small cobalt particles of diameter -5 nm was prepared through a hydrothermal reaction and hydrogen reduction. The resulting material showed very high CO conversion （〉82%） and high hydrocarbon productivity （-1.0gHC·gcat^-1·h^-1 ） with high activity （-8.5 × 10^-5 ***^-1.s-1） in the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction.
