Peptidyl-prolyl isomerase-like 1(PPIL1)is associated with the human spliceosome ***,its function in pre-mRNA splicing remains *** this study,we show that Arabidopsis thaliana CYCLOPHILIN 18-2(AtCYP18-2),a PPIL1 homolog,plays an essential role in heat tolerance by regulating pre-mRNA *** heat stress conditions,AtCYP18-2 expression was upregulated in mature plants and GFP-tagged AtCYP18-2 redistributed to nuclear and cytoplasmic *** determined that AtCYP18-2 interacts with several spliceosome complex B^(ACT)components in nuclear puncta and is primarily associated with the small nuclear RNAs U5 and U6 in response to heat *** AtCYP18-2 loss-of-function allele cyp18-2 engineered by CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene editing exhibited a hypersensitive phenotype to heat stress relative to the wild ***,global transcriptome profiling showed that the cyp18-2 mutation affects alternative splicing of heat stress–responsive genes under heat stress conditions,particularly intron retention(IR).The abundance of most intron-containing transcripts of a subset of genes essential for thermotolerance decreased in cyp18-2 compared to the wild ***,the intron-containing transcripts of two heat stress-related genes,HEAT SHOCK PROTEIN 101(HSP101)and HEAT SHOCK FACTOR A2(HSFA2),produced functional ***101-IR-GFP localization was responsive to heat stress,and HSFA2-Ⅲ-IR interacted with HSF1 and HSP90.1 in plant *** findings reveal that CYP18-2 functions as a splicing factor within the B~(ACT)spliceosome complex and is crucial for ensuring the production of adequate levels of alternatively spliced transcripts to enhance thermotolerance.

Structure-activity relationship of lysophosphatidylcholines in HL-60 human leukemia cells

AIM: To explore the structure-activity relationship of lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC) and lysolipid molecules from a marine sponge and ladybirds. METHODS: We tested three synthetic LPCs and four natural lysolipids on Ca2+ mobilization in HL-60 human leukemia cells. RESULTS: We observed lysolipid-mediated Ca2+ mobilization. The activity was the same in both ester- and ether-linked lysolipids, and introduction of a double bond or methoxy group on the alkyl chain did not significantly modulate the activity. However, replacement of trimethylammonium moiety in the choline structure with ammonium moiety reduced the activity. Furthermore, change of the alkyl chain length influenced the Ca2+ response. CONCLUSION: LPC-induced Ca2+ mobilization might be dependent on the length of alkyl chain and the presence of choline moiety in HL-60 leukemia cells.

Next High Performance and Low Power Flash Memory Package Structure

In general, NAND flash memory has advantages in low power consumption, storage capacity, and fast erase/write performance in contrast to NOR flash. But, main drawback of the NAND flash memory is the slow access time for random read operations. Therefore, we proposed the new NAND flash memory package for overcoming this major drawback. We present a high performance and low power NAND flash memory system with a dual cache memory. The proposed NAND flash package consists of two parts, i.e., an NAND flash memory module, and a dual cache module. The new NAND flash memory system can achieve dramatically higher performance and lower power consumption compared with any conventionM NAND-type flash memory module. Our results show that the proposed system can reduce about 78% of write operations into the flash memory cell and about 70% of read operations from the flash memory cell by using only additional 3KB cache space. This value represents high potential to achieve low power consumption and high performance gain.

Effects of Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge extract and its single components on monosodium urate-induced pain in vivo and lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammation in vitro

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the possible antinociceptive effects of Salvia(S.)miltiorrhiza Bunge and its single components in monosodium urate(MSU)-induced pain model in mice and lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced inflammation model in RAW264.7 ***:Pretreatment of *** Bunge extract(from 1 to 50μg/mL)concentration-dependently attenuated LPS-induced nitric oxide(NO)*** extract of *** Bunge(50 or 100 mg/kg)also caused reversals of decreased threshold for pain in the MSU-treated group as measured by Von-Frey ***,we assessed the antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory properties of the active single components from *** Bunge such as 15,16-dihydrotanshinoneⅠ,tanshinoneⅠ,cryptotanshinone,miltirone,tanshinoneⅡA,and salvianolic acid *** of them showed an anti-inflammatory effect in LPS-induced NO release model and an antinociceptive effect in MSU-treated pain ***:Our results suggest that *** Bunge extract may exert anti-inflammatory effect by reducing LPS-induced NO release and an antinociceptive property in MSU-treated pain ***,tanshinoneⅡA,miltirone,cryptotanshinone,and 15,16-dihydrotanshinoneⅠ,not only appear to be responsible for LPS-induced NO release induced by *** Bunge,but also in the production of *** Bunge extract-induced antinociception in MSU-treated pain ***:Therefore,the analgesic and anti-inflammatory property of *** Bunge indicate it as a therapeutic potential candidate for the treatment of pain and inflammation.

Anti-Proliferative Effects of Ginsenosides Extracted from Mountain Ginseng on Lung Cancer

Objective： To investigate the effect of three major ginsenosides from mountain ginseng as anti- cancer substance and explore the underlying mechanism involved in lung cancer. Methods： The inhibitory proliferation of lung cancer by major five ginsenosides （Rbl, Rb2, Rgl, Rc, and Re） was examined using 3-（4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl）-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide assay. Calculated 50% inhibition （IC50） values of five ginsenosides were determined and compared each other. Apoptosis by the treatment of single ginsenoside was performed by fluorescence-assisted cytometric spectroscopy. The alterations of apoptosis-related proteins were evaluated by Western blot analysis. Results： The abundance of ginsenosides in butanol extract of mountain ginseng （BX-MG） was revealed in the order of Rbl, Rgl, Re, Rc and Rb2. Among them, Rbl was the most effective to lung cancer cell, followed by Rb2 and Rgl on the basis of relative IC50 values of IMR90 versus A549 cell. The alterations of apoptotic proteins were confirmed in lung cancer A549 cells according to the administration of Rbl, Rb2 and Rgl. The expression levels of caspase-3 and caspase-8 were increased upon the treatment of three ginsenosides, however, the levels of caspase-9 and anti-apoptotic protein Bax were not changed. Conclusion： Major ginsenosides such as Rbl, Rb2 and Rgl comprising BX-MG induced apoptosis in lung cancer cells via extrinsic apoptotic pathway rather than intrinsic mitochondrial pathway.

Topic Modeling Based Warning Prioritization from Change Sets of Software Repository

Many existing warning prioritization techniques seek to reorder the static analysis warnings such that true positives are provided first. However, excessive amount of time is required therein to investigate and fix prioritized warnings because some are not actually true positives or are irrelevant to the code context and topic. In this paper, we propose a warning prioritization technique that reflects various latent topics from bug-related code blocks. Our main aim is to build a prioritization model that comprises separate warning priorities depending on the topic of the change sets to identify the number of true positive warnings. For the performance evaluation of the proposed model, we employ a performance metric called warning detection rate, widely used in many warning prioritization studies, and compare the proposed model with other competitive techniques. Additionally, the effectiveness of our model is verified via the application of our technique to eight industrial projects of a real global company.

Characteristics of Sea Breeze Front Development with Various Synoptic Conditions and Its Impact on Lower Troposphere Ozone Formation

To examine the correlation between the sizes of sea breeze fronts and pollutants under the influence of synoptic fields, a numerical simulation was conducted in the southeast coastal area of the Korean Peninsula, where relatively high concentrations of pollutants occur because of the presence of various kinds of industrial developments. Sea breeze and sea breeze front days during the period 2005 09 were identified using wind profiler data and, according to the results, the number of days were 72 and 53, respectively. When synoptic forcing was weak, sea breeze fronts moved fast both in horizontal fields and in terms of wind velocity, while in the case of strong synoptic forcing, sea breeze fronts remained at the coast or moved slowly due to strong opposing flows. In this case, the sea breeze front development function and horizontal potential temperature difference were larger than with weak synoptic forcing. The ozone concentration that moves together with sea breeze fronts was also formed along the frontal surfaces. Ozone advection and diffusion in the case of strong synoptic forcing was suppressed at the frontal surface and the concentration gradient was large. The vertical distribution of ozone was very low due to the Thermal Internal Boundary Layer （TIBL） being low.

Clinical significance of the leptin and leptin receptor expressions in prostate tissues

Aim： To evaluate the expression of leptin and leptin receptor in benign prostatic hyperplasia （BPH） and prostate cancer （PCa）, and to investigate whether they are associated with the development and progression of PCa. Methods： hnmunohistochemical staining was performed to examine the expression of leptin and leptin receptor in BPH and PCa. PCa was divided into three groups： localized PCa, locally advanced PCa and metastatic PCa. The positive staining was identified and the percentage of the positive staining was graded. We also assessed the relationship between both the Gleason score and body mass index （BMI） and PCa. Results： The percentage of the leptin expression in PCa was significantly higher than that in BPH （P 〈 0.01）. For the PCa group, the expressed levels of leptin showed a considerable correlation with localized PCa and metastatic PCa （P 〈 0.05）. Leptin receptor, however, did not reveal a definite difference between BPH and PCa. The expression of leptin indicated a significant difference between well-differentiated PCa （Gleason score ≤6） and poorly differentiated PCa （Gleason score 8-10）（P 〈 0.05）. The relation between the leptin expression level in PCa and the BMI was not remarkable （P = 0.447）. Conclusion： Our results suggest that leptin might have a promoting effect on the carcinogenesis and progression of PCa.

Effect of a seasonal diffuse pollution migration on natural organic matter behavior in a stratified dam reservoir

This article aims to describe the influence of diffuse pollution on the temporal and spatial characteristics of natural organic matter （NOM） in a stratified dam reservoir, the Daecheong Dam, on the basis of intensive observation results and the dynamic water quality simulation using CE-QUAL-W2. Turbidity is regarded as a comprehensive representation of allochothonous organic matter from diffuse sources in storm season because the turbidity concentration showed reasonable significance in a statistical correlation with the UV absorbance at 254 nm and total phosphorus. CE-QUAL-W2 simulation results showed good consistency with the observed data in terms of dissolved organic matter （DOM） including refractory dissolved organic carbon （RDOC） and labile DOC and also well explained the internal movement of constituents and stratification phenomenon in the reservoir. Instead turbidity and NOM were related well in the upper region of the reservoir according to flow distance, gradually as changing to dissolved form of organic matter, RDOM affected organic matter concentration of reservoir water quality compared to turbidity. To control the increase of soluble organic matters in the dam reservoir, appropriate dam water discharge gate operation provided effective measurement. Because of the gate operation let avoid the accumulation of organic matter within a dam reservoir by shorten of turbid regime retention time.
