Dark photons have been well motivated as strong candidates for dark force carriers and light dark matter in the sub-GeV mass range.Compared with collider experiments,fixed-target experiments provide a complementary approach to searching for dark photons,particularly in the lower mass range.We have studied the physics potential of the electron-on-target experiment based on the Shanghai SHINE facility,which provides 10 MHz single electron beam at 8 GeV energy.This analysis focuses on dark photons being produced via electron and nucleon interaction and then decays to dark matter candidates,which escape detection as missing momentum in the detector.This experiment takes advantage of using missing momentum to enhance signal versus background separation power.In this study,signal samples as a function of dark photon mass and an inclusive background sample with 2.5 billion events are simulated with GEANT4.For better background estimates,major rare background processes have also been simulated.This paper presents the experiment and detector design,signal and background simulations,analysis strategy,and the prospective study of the experiment sensitivity.With 9×10^(14) electron-on-target events(about three years running),this experiment is expected to rule out most of the sensitive regions predicted by popular dark photon models.

Influence of reaction of Al2O3 and carbonaceous materials in Al2O3–C refractories on aluminum and carbon pick-up of iron

Carbon-containing Al2O3 refractory crucibles and pure Al2O3 refractory crucible were fabricated to study the effect of carbon-containing Al2O3-C refractories on aluminum and carbon pick-up of iron.Refractory crucibles with pure iron powder were placed in a vacuum induction furnace and heated at 1600℃ for regular time under flowing argon atmosphere.The Al and C contents of iron samples were analyzed,and iron samples were also investigated using a field scanning electron microscope equipped with energy-dispersive spectroscope.The results showed that carbon materials did affect the interac?tion of(Al2O3-C)/Fe system,carbothermal reduction in alumina occurred in the reaction system and the extent of reactions depended on the kinds of carbon materials.

Effects of Deformation Texture and Twins on the Corrosion Resistance of Rolled AZ31 Mg Alloy Under 5% Uniaxial Compression

The deformation texture and twin effect of rolled AZ31 Mg alloy on the corrosion resistance in simulated body fluid（SBF） at room temperature were examined by potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectra.The corrosion morphology evolution after being immersed in SBF for 24 h has been analyzed by scanning electron microscope. The results show that the inhomogeneous deformation leaded to the obvious differences in the microstructure.The corrosion rate of rolled AZ31 Mg alloy decreased dramatically in the transverse direction（TD） plane, which mainly consisted of {0001} deformation texture, making TD plane be a lower surface energy,and thus a higher corrosion resistance, while the corrosion resistance of the plane with 45° to TD direction（45 TD plane） containing enormous{10-12} tension twins decreased after 5% uniaxial compression. The {10-12} tension twins accelerate the rate of corrosion procedure and pitting corrosion. Moreover, it is suggested that the deformation texture affects the corrosion behavior more than the twins do. This study indicates that the corrosion rate of AZ31 Mg alloy in SBF can be modified by the small uniaxial compression.

Until recently,many studies on the role of phytohormones in plant secondary metabolism focused on jasmonic acid(JA),salicylic acid(SA),gibberellins(GA),and abscisic acid(ABA).It is now clear that phytohormone?induced regulation of signaling occurs via regulation of the biosynthetic pathway genes at the transcriptional level or through posttranslational regulation,or an increase in secondary metabolite deposition(e.g.,trichomes).Here,we summarize recent advances,updating the current reports on the molecular machinery of phytohormones JA,SA,GA,and ABA involved in plant secondary metabolites.This review emphasizes the differences and similarities among the four phytohormones in regulating various secondary metabolic biosynthetic pathways and also provides suggestions for further research.

5-Methylcytosine (5mC) is a dynamic and reversible epigenetic modification in genomic DNA of higher eukaryotes.It has been well-established that the demethylation of 5mC occurs through the ten-eleven translocation (TET)-mediated oxidation of 5mC followed by thymine DNA glycosylase (TDG)-initiated base excision repair (BER).Recent findings also have identified an alternative pathway of DNA demethylation.In this pathway,TET enzymes directly oxidize 5mC to form 5-formylcytosine (5fC) or 5-carboxylcytosine (5caC).These modified bases can undergo direct deformylation or decarboxylation,respectively.Additionally,DNA demethylation can also occur through the deamination of 5mC and 5hmC,resulting in the production of thymine and 5-hydroxymethyluracil (5hmU),respectively.Various DNA demethylation pathways possess critical functional implications and roles in biological processes.This Recent Advances article will focus on the studies of mechanisms and biological functions of DNA demethylation,shedding light on the reversible nature of the epigenetic modification of 5mC.

Full laparoscopic liver resection has been performed widely since it was introduced in the early 1990s.It has been expanded from initial for partial resection of the anterolateral segments to non-restriction of area of the liver[1–3].Anatomical liver resec-tion is considered to have potential superiority than non-anatomic resection in terms of tumor prognosis,thus it is more often rec-ommended in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma[4,5].Recently,laparoscopic segmental liver resection according to the Couinaud classification has been widely performed due to its ad-vantages in minimal invasiveness and tumor prognosis.

Etoposide is widely used for cancer chemotherapy in the clinic.However,long-term etoposide treatment can lead to adverse effects or drug resistance.To improve the situation,we evaluated the therapeutic efficiency of etoposide combined with inhibitors of bromodomain and extraterminal(BET)family proteins,which have recently emerged as novel anti-cancer targets due to their critical roles in cancer development.Firstly,we showed BRD4,one of the main targets of BET inhibitors,was involved in DNA damage response(DDR)via the homologous recombination(HR)repair pathway.

Comprehensive Summary,A convenient approach for the construction of 2-aminobenzothiazoles via I2-catalyzed tandem cyclization reaction of amines and carbon disulfide has been developed.The present approach starts from simple and readily available starting materials,affording a series of 2-aminobenzothiazoles in up to 89%yields under metal-free conditions.In this work,C—H/N—H functionalization was achieved and multiple C-hetero bonds were successfully constructed in one pot.

Paeoniflorin,the Main Monomer Component of Paeonia lactiflora,Exhibits Anti-inflammatory Properties in Osteoarthritis Synovial Inflammation

Objective:To explore the mechanism of paeoniflorin(PF)on osteoarthritis(OA)synovial inflammation from network pharmacology to experimental pharmacology.Methods:Targets of OA were constructed by detecting the database of network database platforms(Therapeutic Target database,Drug Bank and Gene Cards),and the targets of PF were constructed by Pub Chem and Herbal Ingredients'Targets database.Gene Ontology(GO)and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)analysis of these co-targeted genes were conducted via Database for Annotation,Visualization,and Integrated Discovery(DAVID)database,and protein-protein interaction(PPI)networks were conducted via the search tool for the retrieval of interacting genes(STRING)database.Cell counting kit-8(CCK-8)assay was performed to assess the potential toxicity of PF on human OA fibroblast-like synoviocytes(FLS),quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(q PCR),enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)and Western blot were used to verify the potential mechanism of PF in synovial inflammation.Results:Twenty-six co-targeted genes were identified.GO enrichment results showed that these co-targeted genes were most likely localized in the cytoplasm,and the biological processes mainly involved'cellular response to hypoxia''lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-mediated signaling pathway'and'positive regulation of gene expression'.KEGG pathway analysis indicated that these co-targeted genes may function through pathways associated with'hypoxia-inducible factor-1(HIF-1)signaling pathway'and'tumornecrosis factor(TNF)signaling pathway'.The PPI network showed that the top 3 hub genes were TP53,TNF,and CASP3.Molecular docking results showed that PF was well docking with TNF.CCK-8 showed no potential toxicity of 10,20 and 50μmol/L PF on human OA FLS.And PF significantly decreased the expression levels of interleukin-1β,interleukin-6,TNF-αmatrix metalloproteinase 13(MMP13),and a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs 5(ADAMTS5)and TNF-αin LPS-induced OA FLS.Conclusion:PF exhibited

Metastatic stomach lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma and immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy:A case report

BACKGROUND Pulmonary lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma(PLELC)is a rare type of nonsmall-cell lung cancer.Stomach lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma(LELC)metastasis secondary to PLELC has not been reported recently.CASE SUMMARY A 64-year-old female was admitted to our hospital for a regular gastroscopy examination with a 6-year history of surgical resection for left PLELC.Positron emission tomography/computed tomography suggested high accumulation of 18F-fludeoxyglucose in the gastric cardia region.Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy confirmed a large mass at the stomach fundus.Immunohistochemistry(IHC)of the biopsy suggested metastatic stomach LELC.Proximal gastrectomy showed that this 6.5 cm×5.0 cm mass was located in the stomach fundus near the cardia.Histopathological examination showed a poorly differentiated carcinoma with prominent lymphoplasmacytic infiltration.IHC demonstrated that the tumor was positive for CK(AE1/AE3),p63,p40,p53,Ki-67(70%),and EGFR(3+)and negative for CK7,CK20,Her2,and CD10.In situ hybridization analysis showed positive staining Epstein-Barr virus-encoded RNA.Tumor programmed cell death ligand 1(PD-L1)expression score was 98%,and the combined positive score was 100,with no evidence of microsatellite instability.Thus,the patient was unequivocally diagnosed with metastatic stomach LELC secondary to pulmonary LELC.After discharge,this patient underwent PD-1 inhibitor treatment(toripalimab,240 mg)every 3 wk for ten cycles,and she has had no tumor recurrence.CONCLUSION For gastric LELC metastasis,PD-1 inhibitor therapy could become a new therapeutic approach,though there is still no evidence from large data sets to support this.
