The as-cast amorphous Ti_(48)Zr_(27)Cu_(6)Nb_(5)Be_(14)composites,comprising in situ formedβ-Ti ductile crystalline precipitates,were prepared by water cooled copper mold suction ***,the semi-solid composites were obtained after the as-cast composites were treated by semi-solid isothermal *** microstructure evolution and kinetics of the composites were *** show that the microstructures of both the as-cast and semi-solid composites comprise ofβ-Ti crystal phases and amorphous matrix *** and after treatment,the crystals evolve from fine granular or fine dendritic crystals to coarse *** the treatment temperature increasing or the time prolonging,the average crystal size gradually increases and the surface morphology of the crystals gradually becomes *** studying the microstructural evolution and dynamics during the isothermal treatment process,it is found that the final morphology ofβ-Ti crystals is influenced by the isothermal treatment temperature and time(t),and theβ-Ti evolution rate increases with an increase in treatment *** addition,a linear relationship was observed between the size of cubicβ-Ti crystals(D^(3))and t;the growth kinetics factor K is 3.8μm^(3)·s^(-1).As the K value closes to 4μm^(3)·s^(-1),it is inferred the morphology evolution ofβ-Ti crystals is a coarsening behavior controlled by the diffusion of solute elements.

Rare earth(RE) elements are excellent modifiers for non-metallic inclusions that inevitably appear in steel and affect steel properties. This paper reviews the research status of inclusions modification by RE elements and the changes it cause on steel properties. First, the inclusion changes caused by RE modification are described. Generally, after adding pure RE, the main evolution of inclusions occurs as m →m + RE-Al-O → RE-Al-O + RE_(2)O_(2)S → RE_(2)O_(2)S + RE—S/RE_(2)O_(2)S + RE-O with an increase in the RE content(m represents the inclusions before RE addition). The type of final inclusion obtained after RE modification is related to the relative contents of S and O in the steel. moreover, fine, regular, and uniformly distributed inclusions can be obtained with appropriate RE addition. However, the effectiveness of inclusions modification by adding both RE and non-RE elements is closely related to the order of their addition. Second, the applications and advantages of thermodynamic calculations in the study of RE-modified inclusions are introduced. Third, the changes in the corrosion resistance, impact properties,and other properties of steel caused by the modification of inclusions by RE are reviewed. Finally, the perspectives and trends of inclusions modified by RE elements in the steel industry are presented.

Neuroscientists have recognized the importance of astrocytes in regulating neurological function and their influence on the release of glial *** studies,however,have focused on the effects of general anesthetic agents on neuroglia or *** can also be an important target of general anesthetic agents as they exert not only sedative,analgesic,and amnesic effects but also mediate general anesthetic-induced neurotoxicity and postoperative cognitive ***,we analyzed recent advances in understanding the mechanism of general anesthetic agents on astrocytes,and found that exposure to general anesthetic agents will destroy the morphology and proliferation of astrocytes,in addition to acting on the receptors on their surface,which not only affect Ca^(2+)signaling,inhibit the release of brain-derived neurotrophic factor and lactate from astrocytes,but are even involved in the regulation of the pro-and anti-inflammatory processes of *** would obviously affect the communication between astrocytes as well as between astrocytes and neighboring neurons,other neuroglia,and vascular *** this review,we summarize how general anesthetic agents act on neurons via astrocytes,and explore potential mechanisms of action of general anesthetic agents on the nervous *** hope that this review will provide a new direction for mitigating the neurotoxicity of general anesthetic agents.

Ticks are a major parasite on the Qınghai-Tibet Plateau,western China,and represent an economic burden to agriculture and animal *** research on tick-borne pathogens that threaten humans and animals,the viromes of dominant tick species in this area remain *** this study,we collected Dermacentor nuttalli ticks near Qınghai Lake and identified 13 viruses belonging to at least six families through metagenomic *** viruses were of high abundance in pools,including Xınjiang tick-associated virus 1(XJTAV1),and three novel viruses:Qınghai Lake virus 1,Qınghai Lake virus 2(QHLV1,and QHLV2,unclassified),and Qınghai Lake virus 3(QHLV3,genus Uukuvirus of family Phenuiviridae in order Bunyavirales),which lacks the m *** minimum infection rates of the four viruses in the tick groups were 8.2%,49.5%,6.2%,and 24.7%,respectively,suggesting the prevalence of these viruses in *** ticks.A putative m segment of QHLV3 was identified from the next-generation sequencing data and further characterized for its signal peptide cleavage site,N-glycosylation,and transmembrane ***,we probed the L,m,and S segments of other viruses from sequencing data of other tick pools by using the putative m segment sequence of *** revealing the viromes of *** ticks,this study enhances our understanding of tick-borne viral communities in highland *** putative m segment identified in a novel uukuvirus suggests that previously identified uukuviruses without m segments should have had the same genome organization as typical *** findings will facilitate virus discovery and our understanding of the phylogeny of tick-borne uukuviruses.

Organic electrode molecules hold significant potential as the next generation of cathode materials for Li-ion batteries. In this study, we have introduced a multi-objective active learning framework that leverages Bayesian optimization and non-dominated sorting genetic algorithms-Ⅱ. This framework enables the selection of organic molecules characterized by high theoretical energy density and low gap(LUmO-HOmO)(LUmO, lowest unoccupied molecular orbital; HOmO, highest occupied molecular orbital). Remarkably, after only two cycles of active learning, the determination of coefficient can reach 0.962 for theoretical energy density and 0.920 for the gap with a modest dataset of 300 molecules, showcasing superior predictive capabilities. The 2,3,5,6-tetrafluorocyclohexa-2,5-diene-1,4-dione, selected by non-dominated sorting genetic algorithms-Ⅱ, has been successfully applied to Li-ion batteries as cathode materials, demonstrating a high capacity of 288 m Ah g-1and a long cycle life of 1,000 cycles. This outcome underscores the high reliability of our framework. Furthermore, we have also validated the universality and transferability of our framework by applying it to two additional databases, the Qm9 and OmEAD. When the training dataset of the model includes at least 500 molecules, the determination of coefficient essentially reaches approximately0.900 for four targets: gap, reduction potential, LUmO, and HOmO. Therefore, the universal framework in our work provides innovative insights applicable to other domains to expedite the screening process for target materials.

B_(4)C–TiB_(2)is an advanced electrically conductive ceramic with excellent mechanical and electrical discharge machinable *** is challenging and rewarding to achieve highly conductive and hard B_(4)C–TiB_(2)composites at a minimum content of conductive TiB2 that has inferior hardness but double specific gravity of the B_(4)C matrix.A novel strategy was used to construct conductive networks in B_(4)C‒15 vol%TiB2 composite ceramics with B_(4)C,TiC,and amorphous B as raw materials by a two-step spark plasma sintering *** influences of particle size matching between B_(4)C and TiC on the conducting of the strategy and the microstructure were discussed based on the selective matrix grain growth *** mechanical and electrical properties were also systematically *** B_(4)C–15 vol%TiB2 composite ceramic prepared from 10.29µm B_(4)C and 0.05µm TiC powders exhibited a perfect three-dimensional interconnected conductive network with a maximum electrical conductivity of 4.25×10^(4)S/m,together with excellent mechanical properties including flexural strength,Vickers hardness,and fracture toughness of 691±58 mPa,30.30±0.61 GPa,and 5.75±0.32 mPa·m^(1/2),respectively,while the composite obtained from 3.12µm B_(4)C and 0.8µm TiC powders had the best mechanical properties including flexural strength,Vickers hardness,and fracture toughness of 827±35 mPa,32.01±0.51 GPa,and 6.45±0.22 mPa·m^(1/2),together with a decent electrical conductivity of 0.65×10^(4)S/m.

Arctic warming played a dominant role in recent occurrences of extreme events over the Northern Hemisphere,but climate models cannot accurately simulate the *** a significant positive correlation(0.33-0.95)between extreme precipitation and Arctic amplification(AA)is found using observations and CmIP5/6 multi-model ***,CmIP6 models are superior to CmIP5 models in simulating the temporal evolution of extreme precipitation and *** to 14 optimal CmIP6 models,the maximum latitude of planetary waves and the strength of Northern Hemisphere annular mode(NAm)will increase with increasing AA,contributing to increased extreme precipitation over the Northern *** the Shared Socioeconomic Pathway SSP5-8.5,AA is expected to increase by 0.85℃ per decade while the maximum latitude of planetary waves will increase by 2.82°per ***,the amplitude of the NAm will increase by 0.21 hPa per decade,contributing to a rise in extreme precipitation of 1.17% per decade for R95pTOT and 0.86% per decade for R99pTOT by 2100.

Skin-inspired interface modification strategy toward a structurefunction integrated hybrid smart fabric system with self-powered sensing property for versatile applications

Fabric-based composites with superior mechanical properties and excellent perceptive function are highly ***,it remains a huge challenge to attain structure-function integration,especially for hybrid fabric ***,a skin-inspired interface modification strategy is proposed toward this target by constructing a hybrid smart fabric system consisting of two types of smart fabrics:carbon nanotube(CNT)/mXene-modified aramid fabrics and zinc oxide nanorod(ZnO NR)-modified carbon *** on that,flexible piezoelectric pressure sensors with skin-like hierarchical perception interfaces are fabricated,which demonstrate superb sensitivity of 2.39 V·kPa^(-1)and are capable of various wearable monitoring ***,the interface-modified hybrid fabric reinforced plastics can also be fabricated,which are proven to possess 13.6%higher tensile strength,10.1%elastic *** impressively,their average energy absorption can be improved by 111.9%,accompanied with inherent damage alert *** offers a paradigm to fabricate structure-function integrated hybrid smart fabric composites for the smart clothing and intelligent aerial vehicles.
