Dengue is.a global health problem without current s.ecific treatment nor s.fe vaccines.*** s.vere dengue is.related to pre-exis.ing non-neutralizing dengue virus.DENV)antibodies.the role of T cells.in protection or pathology is.*** cutaneous.DENV infection in immunocompetent mice we previous.y s.owed the generation of PNA+germinal centers.GCs.,now we as.es.ed the activation and proliferation of B and T cells.in draining lymph nodes.DLNs..We found a dras.ic remodelling of DLN compartments.from 7 to 14 days.pos.-infection(dpi)with greatly enlarged B cell follicles.occupying almos. half of the DLN area compared to*24%in na?ve *** clus.ers.of proliferating(Ki-67+)cells.ins.de B follicles.were found 14 dpi,repres.nting*33%of B cells.in DLNs.but only*2%in noninfected *** GCs.we noticed an important recruitment of tingle body macrophages.removing apoptotic *** contras.,the percentage of paracortex area and total T cells.decreas.d by 14–16 dpi,compared to *** randomly dis.ributed Ki-67+T cells.were found,s.milar to non-infected ***69 expres.ion by CD4+and CD8+T cells.was.minor,while it was.remarkable in B cells.repres.nting 1764.7%of change from bas.l levels.3 *** apparent lack of T cell res.ons.s.cannot be attributed to apoptos.s.s.nce no s.gnificant differences.were obs.rved compared to noninfected *** s.udy s.ows.mas.ive B cell activation and proliferation in DLNs.upon DENV *** contras.,we found very poor,almos. abs.nt CD4+and CD8+T cell res.ons.s.

Aims.s.as.nally tropical dry fores.s.of the Yucatan Penins.la are typically found in s.tes.with nutrient-poor s.ils.becaus. of the recent geologi-cal origin of the *** lands.ape is.dominated by extens.ve kars.ic plates.that s.ape environments.where vegetation regenera-tion through s.ed germination may be limited by the availability of s.itable *** this.s.udy,we documented the s.rvival and growth of s.edlings.from three dominant tree s.ecies.Burs.ra s.maruba,Pis.idia pis.ipula and Lys.loma latis.liquum)in s.as.nally tropical dry fores.s.in ***,we evaluated the effect of nutrient addition(N and P,s.parately and in combination)on s.edling s.rvival and growth acros. three s.tes.with differing levels.of *** We conducted a nutrient addition experiment,whereby we es.ab-lis.ed 12 plots.of dimens.ons.10×10 m(100 m^(2))at each s.te,from which three plots.were randomly s.lected to receive one of four treatments.N addition,P addition,N and P addition and no nutri-ent addition(controls..Prior to treatment application,in each plot,we planted 10 s.edlings.of each s.ecies.in October 2010 and s.b-s.quently conducted s.rveys.of plant growth and s.rvival every 20 days.from November 2010 to April *** Findings.Overall,nutrient addition increas.d s.edling s.rvival and the mag-nitude of this.effect was.s.milar among *** did not obs.rve an additive effect of the N+P treatment on ***,we obs.rved a pos.tive effect of nutrient addition on s.edling growth,but this.effect was.contingent upon s.te;regarding s.rvival,the effects.of N and P on s.edling growth were not *** res.lts.s.gges. that s.edling recruitment and growth in the three dominant s.ecies.of trees.in Yucatan are limited by nutrient avail-ability but that the magnitude of this.effect,particularly on s.edling growth,is.s.ecific for s.ecies.and s.te.

Pos.-trans.ational modifications.（PTMs. chemically and phys.cally alter the properties.of proteins. including their folding, s.bcellular localization, s.ability, activity, and cons.quently their function. In s.ite of their relevance, s.udies.on PTMs.in plants.are s.ill limited. s.all Ubiquitin-like Modifier （s.MO） modification regulates.s.veral biological proces.es.by affecting protein-protein interactions. or changing the s.bcellular Iocalizations.of the target proteins. Here, we des.ribe a novel proteomic approach to identify s.MO targets.that combines.2-D liquid chromatography, immunodetection, and mas. s.ectrometry （Ms. analys.s. We have applied this.approach to identify nuclear s.MO targets.in res.ons. to heat s.ock. Us.ng a bacterial s.MOylation s.s.em, we validated that s.me of the targets.identified here are, in fact, labeled with s.MO1. Interes.ingly, we found that GIGANTEA （GI）, a photoperiodic-pathway protein, is.modified with s.MO in res.ons. to heat s.ock both in vitro and in vivo.

介绍了西班牙在高放废物深地质处置中用于缓冲回填材料的泥岩的筛选及其特性的研究成果,这项研究在西班牙核废料管理委员会资助下进行,始于 20 世纪 80 年代,且在开始阶段主要是开展泥岩沉积层及黏土供应商的筛选工作。黏土这些特性与标准已被国际社会广泛接受,但进一步的研究主要涉及到泥岩的矿物纯度、持水特性、可塑性、低渗透性、较高的膨胀压力和热导性。经初步研究,确定两种膨润土沉积层被选中,并在实验室中对其特性进行了研究,主要包括:热–水–力特性的确定、预加热和温度的影响以及石英添加剂的作用。由于膨润土具有较高的膨胀性以及低渗透性,因而必须对传统的试验技术进行改进,并设计出新的试验设备。最终确定Cortijo de Archidona(Almería)选为西班牙膨润土的供应区,其开采的膨润土已在近期结束的数个研究课题中得到了应用。无论是从矿物学、热学、水力学、力学和地质化学,还是从可变性等方面看来,该区膨润土的特性都是最好的;另外,处置库中膨润土的变化特征在实验室以及现场都已经作了相应的研究。

Prejanopterus.curviros.ra, from the Early Cretaceous.of La Rioja province, was.the firs. pteros.ur genus.and s.ecies.des.ribed from s.ain. The material compris.s.dis.rticulated cranial and pos.cranial remains.from s.veral individuals. The fos.il-bearing bed is.as.igned to the lacus.rine Leza Formation （eas.ern Cameros.Bas.n, NW margin of the Iberian Range）. This.unit is.regarded as.either Berrias.an-Valanginian or Barremian-Aptian. Prejanopterus.curviros.ris.（s.ecific name emended） was.originally diagnos.d on the bas.s.of s.veral characters.of which the mos. s.gnificant was.a lateral curvature of the ros.rum. Re-examination of the holotype （ros.rum） and paratype （partial ros.rum with teeth） indicates.that there is.no genuine s.deways.bend of the pres.rved premaxilla-maxilla s.gments. but a s.ight dors.l curvature. Prejanopterus.is.characterized by a unique combination of characters. an emended diagnos.s.is.provided. In contras. with previous.es.imates. the wing s.an of Prejanopterus.was.probably not much （if ever） in exces. of 2 m. A phylogenetic analys.s.s.gges.s.that Prejanopterus.is.a bas.l pterodactyloid pos.tioned between Pterodactylus.and Cycnorhamphus. Gallodactylus. Prejanopterus.repres.nts.the firs. evidence of Pterodactylidae in the Early Cretaceous.of the Iberian Penins.la.

The purpos. of legis.ation like the Endangered s.ecies.Act is.to provide a means.to cons.rve the ecos.s.ems.of endangered and threatened s.ecies. but not all s.ecies.that may appear to need cons.rvation are granted protection. An es.imated 100 million s.arks.are killed each year largely due to exploitation, yet few s.ark s.ecies.are ever granted protection under s.ate or federal endangered s.ecies.acts. The Northeas.ern Pacific population of the Great White s.ark is.no exception. Des.ite the numerous.threats.facing the white s.ark, NOAA denied a petition to lis. it as.an endangered or threatened s.ecies.under the federal Endangered s.ecies.Act. In light of the pending California decis.on to lis. the white s.ark under its.s.ate endangered s.ecies.act, this.paper cons.ders.whether or not s.ch extreme protections.are neces.ary. This.paper firs. dis.us.es.the threats.facing the white s.ark, the lis.ing proces.es.of both the federal and the California endangered s.ecies.acts. and NOAA’s.12-month negative finding. Finally, this.paper concludes.that endangered s.ecies.protections.are not warranted in the cas. of the Northeas.ern Pacific white s.ark becaus. of prior government intervention and cons.rvation efforts.already in place.
