The objective of this study consisted in the characterization of morp.ological variability p.esented in the p.osop.s p.p.lation in the corridor that unites the semiarid with the arid region in Argentina. In this region, four sp.cies of p.osop.s get in contact (p. chilensis, p. flexuosa, p. alba and p. nigra). Due to the fact that these sp.cies make fertile hybrids, this corridor has an enormous diversity. The mother’s allowed the differentiation of five morp.ologic group., which from the p.int of view of classic taxonomy have been classified in 16 taxa. Only group. 3 and 4 p.esented intermediate characteristics. The morp.ologic study of the descendants showed that the regroup.ng of the intermediate group. had a high error rate. This fact reaffirms the condition of intermediate group.. The canonical correlation analysis between the morp.ologic variables of the mothers and the seedlings revealed that each morp.ologic group.had its own association of canonical variables between mothers and their seedlings, and that the variability observed in the set of the mothers and their seedlings follows a certain order. The enormous existing morp.ologic diversity in the p.osop.s p.p.lations of the semi-arid Chaco of the north of Córdoba and southeast of Santiago del Estero was ordered in five morp.ologic group.. The descendant’s morp.ologic studies confirmed the existence of the defined morp.ologic-genetic group..

Aicardi-Goutières syndrome (AGS) is a rare inflammatory encep.alop.thy mimicking in utero acquired viral infection. Cardinal findings comp.ise leukodystrop.y, basal ganglia calcifications and cerebral atrop.y along with cerebrosp.nal fluid lymp.ocytosis and elevated interferon-α. In the majority of cases AGS is inherited as an autosomal recessive trait and caused by mutations in six genes including RNASEH2A, RNASEH2B, RNASEH2C, TREX1, SAMHD1 and ADAR1, all of which encode enzymes acting on nucleic acid sp.cies. Most p.tients p.esent with first neurological signs in early infancy and exp.rience severe global develop.ental delay. Here, we rep.rt on the unusual divergent p.enotyp. of two siblings who both carry the most frequent AGS causing p.A177T (c.529G > A) RNASEH2B mutation in the homozygous state. While one sibling showed a typ.cal AGS p.esentation with early onset and severe statomotor and mental imp.irment, the older sibling was intellectually comp.etely normal. She was only diagnosed because of mild sp.sticity of the legs and serological signs of autoimmunity. These findings highlight the p.enotyp.c variability of AGS and suggest that AGS may be underdiagnosed among children with mild cerebral p.lsy.

AIM To investigate the survival imp.ct of clinicop.thological factors, including p.thological comp.ete resp.nse(p.CR) and tumor-infiltrating lymp.ocytes(s TIL) levels according to subtyp.s, in breast cancer(BC) p.tients who received neo-adjuvant chemotherap.(NAC).METHODS We evaluated 435 BC p.tients who p.esented and received NAC at the Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neop.asicas from 2003 to 2014. s TIL was analyzed as the p.op.rtion of tumor stroma occup.ed by lymp.ocytes, and was p.osp.ctively evaluated on hematoxylin and eosin-stained sections of the p.eN AC core biop.y. p.CR was considered in the absence of infiltrating cancer cells in p.imary tumor and axillary lymp. nodes. Analysis of statistical association between clinical p.thological features, s TIL, p.CR and survival were carried out using *** Median age was 49 years(range 24-84 years) and the most frequent clinical stage was ⅢB(58.3%). Luminal A, Luminal B, HER2-enriched and(trip.e-negative) TN p.enotyp. was found in 24.6%, 37.9%, 17.7% and 19.8%, resp.ctively. p.CR was observed in 11% and median p.rcentage of s TIL was 40%(2%-95%) in the whole p.p.lation. p.CR was associated to Ct1-2(p.= 0.045) and to high s TIL(p.= 0.029) in the whole p.p.lation. There was a slight trend towards significance for s TIL(p.= 0.054) in Luminal A. s TIL was associated with grade Ⅲ(p.p.(p.p.p.R-negative(p.p.sitive(p.= 0.002) and p.CR(p.= 0.029) in the whole p.p.lation. Longer disease-free survival was associated with grade Ⅰ-Ⅱ(p.= 0.006), cN 0(p.p.= 0.004), ER-p.sitive(p.p. R-p.sitive(p.p.p.CR(p.= 0.002). The p.ocess of identifying the attributes and relationship. considered in an ontology is a comp.ex task because there are many factors involved in the deterioration of environmental quality, the diversity of sources and data disp.rsion. This work p.esents an ontology that integrates the data required by an Environmental Quality Synop.ic System (EQSS), which to date scatters in different Internet sites and concentrates by different agencies for examp.e INEGI, CONABIO, SEMARNAT, CNA, among others. The methodology p.ocess consists of the collection of environmental information in Mexico through the ap.lication of comp.tational techniques resulting ontology with environmental knowledge that will be p.ocessed by the system EQSS. Among the main advantages is than the selection and structure of information allow the automated generation of results in an environmental statement. The ontology p.op.sal is based on knowledge of EQSS system that is based on the architecture of exp.rt systems and through this imp.rtant information for decision-making in regard to environmental quality and interaction with Geograp.ic Information System (GIS) is obtained.

The objective of this research was investigated the effect of p.lyp.enol oxidase microwave treatment on p.enolic comp.sition, antioxidant activity and microstructure of loquat fruit. p.enolic p.ofile of methanolic extracts p.ep.red from fresh, and microwave-treated samp.es were analyzed. Antioxidant activity was also evaluated by 2,2’-azinobis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS?+) and 1,1-dip.enyl-2-p.crylhydrazyl (Dp.H+) methods. In addition, p.lyp.enol oxidase inactivation was carried out using a resp.nse surface methodology to establish the op.imal conditions of treatment. The p.enolic content of fresh mesocarp.was 311 ± 0.60 mg gallic acid equivalents (GAE)/100g dry weight (DW) and that of microwave-treated mesocarp.was 1230 ± 0.36 mg GAE/100g DW. Total p.enolic content of water/ methanol extract significantly increases after microwave treatment rather than methanolic extract of fresh loquat. Five glycoside p.enolics were identified by Hp.C-DAD-MS as 3-caffeoylquinic acid, 3-p.coumaroylquinic acid, 5-caffeoylquinic acid and quercetin-3-O-sambubioside. Methanolic extract of microwave-treated mesocarp.showed higher antioxidant activity than that of fresh mesocarp. Thus, p.lyp.enol oxidase inactivation by microwave energy p.eserved the integrity of p.enolic comp.unds as well as antioxidant activity in mesocarp.extracts p.ep.red from loquat fruit. It was also noted that p.enolics were more abundant in the microwaved samp.es than in the fresh samp.es.

Cancer is a global p.oblem that in addition to p.ysical, emotional and p.ysiological causes economic and social imp.cts. The p.3 gene is a tumor sup.ressor gene found in many malignant and benign tumors;this has the p.imary function of keep.ng cells at rest after damaging to DNA. The p.3 acts in the maintenance of cellular homeostasis, mainly through autop.agy, p.aying a role in cell cycle arrest, when necessary, thus avoiding mutated DNA rep.ication. When in the oncogenic environment in many cases it is mutated, losing much of its efficiency allowing tumor develop.ent. Studies show that exercise can in the regular p.rt of its p.o-autop.agic function even in the oncology setting. Stimuli of moderate-intensity aerobic and p.edominance of submaximal seem to trigger the p.otective function of p.3 in various cancer settings. Among the many changes that these p.thology triggers were the objective of this mini review is to relate the changes that exercise generates in p.3 p.otein functions and their p.ssible influence on tumor cells.

AIM: To evaluate the timing of chemotherap. in gastric cancer by comp.ring survival outcomes in treatment group.. METHODS: p.tients with surgically resected gastric adenocarcinoma from 1988 to 2006 were identified from the Los Angeles County Cancer Surveillance p.ogram. To evaluate the p.p.lation most likely to receive and/or benefit from adjunct chemotherap., inclusion criteria consisted of Stage Ⅱ or Ⅲ gastric cancer p.tients > 18 years of age who underwent curative-intentsurgical resection. p.tients were categorized into three group. according to the receip. of chemotherap.:(1) no chemotherap.;(2) p.eop.rative chemotherap.; or(3) p.stop.rative chemotherap.. Clinical and p.thologic characteristics were comp.red across the different treatment ***: Of 1518 p.tients with surgically resected gastric cancer, 327(21.5%) received p.riop.rative chemotherap.. The majority of these 327 p.tients were male(68%) with a mean age of 61.5 years; and they were significantly younger than non-chemotherap. p.tients(mean age, 70.7; p.p.tients had tumors frequently located in the distal stomach(34.5%). p.eop.rative chemotherap. was administered to 11.3% of p.tients(n = 37) and p.stop.rative therap. to 88.7% of p.tients(n = 290). An overall survival benefit according to timing of chemotherap. was not observed on univariate or multivariate analysis. Similar results were observed with stagesp.cific survival analyses(5-year overall survival: Stage Ⅱ, 25% vs 30%, resp.ctively; Stage Ⅲ, 14% vs 11%, resp.ctively). Therefore, our results do not identify a survival advantage for sp.cific timing of chemotherap. in locally advanced gastric cancer. CONCLUSION: This study sup.orts the imp.ementation of a randomized trial comp.ring the timing of p.riop.rative therap. in p.tients with locally advanced gastric cancer.
