Objective:To investigate the possibility of increased antimalarial activity of Icacina senegalensis ***(Icacinaceae)upon a combination of its leaves and tubers against Plasmodium berghei malaria in ***:Chloroquine sensitive ANKA clones of Plasmodium berghei were used to develop experimental models based on intraperitoneal injection of 10^(7)parasitized erythrocytes in phosphate buffer saline(pH 7.2)and subsequent development of *** models were employed to investigate prophylactic and curative anti-malarial activities of tuber and tuberleaf methanol extracts of the plant at selected dosages(25,50 and 100 mg/kg body weight).Chloroquine with a curative dosage of 10 mg/kg body weight was used as positive control in both ***:Tuber and tuber-leaf extracts produced a dose-dependent chemosuppression of the parasites,with higher activity and mean survival time exhibited by the combined ***:Anti-plasmodia activity has been discovered in methanol extract of Icacina senegalensis tuber *** observed optimization of the antimalarial actions of the plant upon a combination of its leaf and tuber opens a new area of medicinal plant research.

This paper takes initial steps towards developing a theoretical framework of contemplative neuroaesthetics through sensorimotor *** first argue that this new area has been largely omitted from the contemporary research agenda in neuroaesthetics and thus remains a domain of untapped *** seek to define this domain to foster a clear and focused investigation of the capacity of the arts and architecture to induce phenomenological states of a contemplative *** proposing a sensorimotor account of the experience of architecture,we operationalize how being attuned to architecture can lead to contemplative *** contrasting the externally-induced methods with internally-induced methods for eliciting a contemplative state of mind,we argue that architecture may spontaneously and effortlessly lead to such states as certain built features naturally resonate with our sensorimotor *** suggest that becoming sensible of the resonance and attunement process between internal and external states is what creates an occasion for an externallyinduced contemplative ***,we review neuroscientific studies of architecture,elaborate on the brain regions involved in such aesthetic contemplative responses,provide architectural examples,and point at the contributions that this new area of inquiry may have in fields such as the evidence-based design movement in architecture.

Brain signal analysis plays a significant role in attaining data related to motor *** parietal region of the brain plays a vital role in muscular *** approach aims to demonstrate a unique technique to identify an ideal region of the human brain that generates signals responsible for muscular movements;perform statistical analysis to provide an absolute characterization of the signal and validate the obtained results using a prototype *** can enhance the practical implementation of these frequency extractions for future neuro-prosthetic applications and the characterization of neurological diseases like Parkinson’s disease(PD).To play out this handling method,electroencepha-logram(EEG)signals are gained while the subject is performing different wrist and elbow ***,the frontal brain signals and just the parietal signals are separated from the obtained EEG signal by utilizing a band pass ***,feature extraction is carried out using Fast Fourier Transform(FFT).Subse-quently,the extraction process is done by Daubechies(db4)and Haar wavelet(db1)in MATLAB and classified using the Levenberg-Marquardt *** results of the frequency changes that occurred during various wrist move-ments in the parietal region are compared with the frequency changes that occurred in frontal EEG *** proposed algorithm also uses the deep learn-ing pattern analysis network to evaluate the matching sequence for each action that takes *** accuracy of 97.2%and maximum error range of 0.6684%are achieved during the *** of this research confirm that the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm,along with the newly developed deep learn-ing hybrid PatternNet,provides a more accurate range of frequency changes than any other classifier used in previous works of *** on the analysis,the peak-to-peak value is used to define the threshold for the prototype arm,which performs all the intended degrees of freedom(DOF),verifying

Background:Women with obesity have higher risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes,including preeclampsia(PE).Late-gestational hypertension,aberrant fetoplacental development,and fetal growth restriction(FGR),hallmarks of PE,are observed spontaneously in BPH/5 *** to obese preeclamptic women,BPH/5 mice have higher visceral white adipose tissue(WAT)and circulating *** hypothesized that attenuation of maternal obesity and serum leptin in pregnant BPH/5 mice will improve fetoplacental development by decreasing hypoxia markers and leptin expression at the maternal-fetal ***:To test this hypothesis,BPH/5 mice were fed ad libitum(lib)and pair-fed(PF)to C57 ad lib controls beginning at embryonic day(e)***-related genes,hypoxia inducible factor(Hif)1α,stem cell factor(Scf),heme oxygenase-1(Ho-1),leptin(Lep),and leptin receptor(LepR)were assessed in e7.5 implantation ***:BPH/5 ad lib had 1.5 to 2-fold increase in Hif1α,Scf,and Ho-1 mRNA and a greater than 3-fold increase in leptin mRNA vs.C57 that was attenuated with *** leptin promoted Hif1αand Ho-1 mRNA expression in e7.5 decidua in *** hypoxic conditions in vitro did not change decidual leptin ***,BPH/5 PF mice demonstrated improved fetal and placental outcomes later in gestation,with greater placental vascular area by e18.5 and attenuation of ***:In conclusion,pair-feeding BPH/5 mice beginning at conception may improve placental vasculature formation via decreased leptin and hypoxia-associated markers in this *** investigations are needed to better determine the effect of hypoxia and leptin on pregnancy outcomes in obese pregnant women.

本论文旨在确定造成碰撞和搁浅事故的人为和组织因素,以制定减少这些因素的纠正措施。通过分析各调查机构的船舶航行事故调查报告,得出关于碰撞和搁浅事故的人为和组织错误及其共同存在模式的有价值信息,从而制定出提高航行安全的反应方法。从这些过去的事故中吸取教训,制定解决方案,确保航行安全。本文分析了来自14个海事事故调查机构的30份船舶航行事故报告,包括15份碰撞事故报告和15份搁浅事故报告。在海事事故人为因素分析和分类系统(HFACS-MA)框架下对各种因素进行分类,从选定的碰撞和搁浅事故报告中确定了总共273个因素。HFACS-MA分类工具包括五个层次:组织影响、不安全监督、不安全行为的前提条件、不安全行为和法定/外部因素。HFACS-MA框架通过对碰撞和搁浅事故的统计分析,确定了每一层中推导出的因果因素之间的统计关系。统计分析的结果表明,在碰撞和搁浅事故中,确定的因果因素最多的HFACS-MA层是不安全行为的前提条件和不安全行为;而确定的因果因素最少的HFACS-MA层是组织影响、不安全监督和法定/外部因素。这些结果与以前关于海上事故中人为和组织因素的研究一致,它为应用HFACS-MA框架识别海上船舶航行事故中人为错误的分析提供了一种新思路,可以被国际海事组织(IMO)、船东和船舶驾驶员采用。

Urban and peri-urban agriculture (UPA) is gaining increasing importance in developing countries, due to rapid urbanization and rising rural-to-urban migration which has led to an increase in the population of the urban poor in Cameroon. It has been estimated that at least 70% of the total population of Cameroon will be living in urban areas by 2060. Urban and peri-urban agriculture (UPA) has become an important source of livelihood and survival, especially amongst the urban poor but is not adequately recognized and supported by the government of Cameroon and organizations. Recent innovations in UPA have created new opportunities for social, economic, and environmental sustainability of urban areas, hence possible policy formulation in UPA. Therefore, this study was conducted with the main objective of determining the drivers of innovative urban and peri-urban agriculture in Bamenda City, Cameroon. Methodologically, the study employed probit model, using primary data collected from a sample of 402 UPA farmers through the cluster, simple random, and snowball sampling techniques. The results revealed that access to extension services is a major driver of innovative UPA in Bamenda City and is statistically significant at 1%. Other factors such as employment status (full time), age group (26 to 50 years), and gender, were also seen to have a significant positive influence on innovative UPA while the level of education (secondary) had a negative influence on innovative UPA and was statistically significant at 5%. Limited capital, limited knowledge, and financial constraints were identified as the major challenges hindering the practice of innovative urban and peri-urban agriculture in Bamenda City. The study recommends that the government and non-governmental organizations should increase the quality and quantity of extension service delivery to urban and peri-urban farmers, and more recognition and support should be offered to them to help overcome the challenges faced.

Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)is an essential tool for detecting brain ***,identification of brain tumours in the early stages is a very complex task since MRI images are susceptible to noise and other environmental *** order to overcome these problems,a Gamma MAP denoised Strömberg wavelet segmentation based on a maximum entropy classifier(GMDSWS-MEC)model is developed for efficient tumour detection with high accuracy and low time *** GMDSWS-MEC model performs three steps,namely pre-processing,segmentation,and *** the GMDSWS-MEC model,the Gamma MAP filter performs the pre-processing task and achieves a significant increase in the peak signal-tonoise ratio by removing noisy artefacts from the input brain *** pre-processing,Strömberg wavelet transform segmentation is carried out to partition the pre-processed image into a number of blocks based on the features extracted from the ***,the maximum entropy classifier identifies and locates the tumour from the input image based on extracted features with high accuracy and minimal error *** a number of MRI images,experimental evaluation and comparison of the proposed model and existing methods is carried out on the basis of four metrics:peak signalto-noise ratio,tumour detection accuracy,error rate,and tumour detection time with respect to MRI image *** proposed model offers superior performance in terms of all four metrics.
