Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine whether the efficacy of transtheoretical model(TTM)-based interventions on physical activity(PA)varied according to the following criteria:(1) interventions targeted the actual stages of change(SOcs) or did not;(2) participants were selected according to their SOc or were not; and(3) its theoretical constructs(decisional balance, temptation, self-efficacy, processes of change).Methods: Thirty-three randomized controlled trials assessing TTM-based interventions promoting PA in adults were systematically ***: The between-group heterogeneity statistic(Qb) did not reveal any differential efficacy either in interventions targeting the actual SOc compared with those that did not(Qb = 1.48, p = 0.22) or in interventions selecting participants according to their SOc compared with those that did not(Qb = 0.01, p = 0.91). TTM-based interventions enhanced PA behavior whether they targeted the actual SOc(cohen's d = 0.36; 95%confidence interval(cI): 0.22–0.49) or not(d = 0.23; 95%cI: 0.09–0.38) and whether they selected their participants according to their SOc(d = 0.33; 95%cI: 0.13–0.53) or not(d = 0.32; 95%cI: 0.19–0.44). The moderators of the efficacy of TTM-based interventions were the number of theoretical constructs used to tailor the intervention(Qb = 8.82, p = 0.003), the use of self-efficacy(Qb = 6.09, p = 0.01), and the processes of change(Qb = 3.51, p = 0.06).conclusion: TTM-based interventions significantly improved PA behavior, and their efficacy was not moderated by SOc but by the TTM theoretical constructs.

Lymphoepithelial cysts of the pancreas:a management dilemma

Pancreatic lymphoepithelial cysts（LEcs） are rare,benign lesions that are typically unexpected post-operative pathological findings. We aimed to review clinical, radiological and pathological features of LEcs that may allow their preoperative diagnosis. Histopathology databases of two large pancreatic units were searched to identify LEcs and notes reviewed to determine patient demographic details, mode of presentation, investigations, treatment and outcome. Five male and one female patients were identified. Their median age was 60 years. Lesions were identified on computed tomography performed for abdominal pain in two patients, and were incidentally observed in four patients. Five LEcs were located in the tail and one in the body of the pancreas, with a median cyst size of 5 cm. Obtaining cyst fluid was difficult and a largely acellular aspirate was yielded. The pre-operative diagnosis was mucinous cystic neoplasm in all patients. This series of patients were treated distal pancreatectomy and splenectomy. A retrospective review of radiological examinations suggested that LEcs have a relatively low signal on T2 imaging and a high signal intensity on T1 weighted images. LEcs appear more common in elderly males, and are typically incidental, large, unilocular cysts. close attention to signal intensity on MRI may allow preoperative diagnosis of these lesions.

In this study,the role of twin-twin interactions on the distributions of local defects(e.g.,dislocations)and stress fields in a magnesium alloy is investigated.A co-zone(1012)-(1012)tensile twin junction in a deformed Mg-3wt.%Y alloy is analyzed using transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The results show that the morphology of the impinging(1012)twin is asymmetric,and the non-interacting boundary of the recipient(1012)twin is *** analysis of TEM images reveals that type-II pyramidal[1213](1212)dislocations concentrate in the vicinity of the twin-twin junction *** samec+a>dislocations are also observed inside the interacting twin domains along with a few ***c+a>dislocations emanating from the impinging(1012)twin boundary have edge character and are extended with faults parallel to the basal *** contrast,thec+a>dislocations connected to the recipient(1012)twin are predominantly screw orientation and ***-viscoplastic fast Fourier transform based crystal plasticity calculations are performed to rationalize the observed twin morphology and local dislocation *** model calculations suggest that the local stress fields generated at the junction site where the two twins meet are responsible for the experimentally observed concentration ofc+a>*** calculated stress fields are asymmetric with respect to the junction site,explaining the observed asymmetric morphology of the impinging ***,these findings show strong effects of twin-twin interactions on the distribution of dislocations as well as the evolution of the twinned microstructure and as such,can help advance understanding of twinning in Mg alloys and their effect on mechanical behavior.

crouzon syndrome is the result of a gain-of-function point mutation in FGFR2. Mimicking the human mutation, a mouse model of crouzon syndrome(Fgfr2342Y) recapitulates patient deformities, including failed tracheal cartilage segmentation, resulting in a cartilaginous sleeve in the homozygous mutants. We found that the Fgfr2c342Y/c^342Y mutants exhibited an increase in chondrocytes prior to segmentation. This increase is due at least in part to over proliferation. Genetic ablation of chondrocytes in the mutant led to restoration of segmentation in the lateral but not central portion of the trachea. These results suggest that in the Fgfr2c342Y/c342Y mutants, increased cartilage cell proliferation precedes and contributes to the disruption of cartilage segmentation in the developing trachea.

Anti-hyperglycemic effects of aqueous Lenzites betulina extracts from the Philippines on the blood glucose levels of the IcR mice(Mus musculus)

Objective: To examine the anti-hyperglycemic effects of aqueous Lenzites betulina(L. betulina) extracts on normoglycemic glucose-loaded ***: Different doses of aqueous extract from L. betulina were administered to 45 IcR mice(Mus musculus) to determine whether there was an effect of L. betulina extracts on the blood glucose level of the IcR mice. Aqueous extracts of L. betulina were orally gavaged to mice using oral glucose tolerance test. A total of five groups were used to determine the effect of the fungi on blood glucose of the mice. Group A(positive control)was given 16.7 mg/kg glimepiride; Group B(negative control) was given distilled water;Group c(low dosage) was given 200 mg/kg aqueous extract; Group D(mid dosage) was given 400 mg/kg aqueous extract and Group E(high dosage) was given 800 mg/kg aqueous extract. Baseline blood glucose value was firstly acquired before induction of hyperglycemia through D-glucose, after which another check on blood glucose was made after 0.5 h. Immediately, after the acquisition of hyperglycemic blood glucose level, the individual administration of treatments were done. After that, three blood collections were done spanning 3 h with 1 h ***: The low dose(200 mg/kg) and the mid dose(400 mg/kg) of L. betulina extracts were significantly different(P ctive baseline values throughout the whole experiment with the latter surpassing its baseline value during the 3rd hour. On the other hand, the high dose(800 mg/kg) during the 1st hour after administration was not significantly different(P > 0.05) from its corresponding baseline value, acting faster than the positive control(glimepiride), which only became significantly different(P ct is able to produce hypoglycemic effects on the mice with all doses, which are able to normalize blood glucose levels at varying times.

In plants, anisotropic cell expansion depends on cortical microtubules that serve as tracks along which macromolecules and vesicles are transported by the motor kinesins of unknown identities. We used cotton （Gossypium hirsutum） fibers that underwent robust elongation to discover kinesins that are involved in cell elongation and found Gh KINESIN-4A expressed abundantly. The motor was detected by immunofluores- cence on vesicle-like structures that were associated with cortical microtubules. In Arabidopsis thaliana, the orthologous motor At KINESIN-4A/FRA1, previously implicated in cellulose deposition during second- ary growth in fiber cells, was examined by live-cell imaging in cells expressing the fluorescently tagged functional protein. The motor decorated vesicle-like particles that exhibit a linear movement along cortical microtubules with an average velocity of 0.89 l^m/min, which was significantly different from those linked to cellulose biosynthesis. We also discovered that At KINESIN-4A/FRA1 and the related At KINESIN-4c play redundant roles in cell wall mechanics, cell elongation, and the axial growth of various vegetative and reproductive organs, as the loss of At KINESIN-4c greatly enhanced the defects caused by a null mutation at the KINESIN-4A/FRA 1 locus. The double mutant displayed a lack of cell wall softening at normal stages of rapid cell elongation. Furthermore, enhanced deposition of arabinose-containing carbohydrate was detected in the kinesin-4 mutants. Our findings established a connection between the Kinesin-4-based transport of cargoes containing non-cellulosic components along cortical microtubules and cell wall mechanics and cell elongation in flowering plants.
