A twenty-year study of the Human resource （HR） practices- outcome relationship has found that more rigorous methodologies have been adopted over time. However, several problematic features such as cross-sectionaL single-informant, and single-level designs continue to be adopted （Bainbridge et al., Human resource Management, 2016）. responding to calls for increased contextualization of research by investigating the relationship between the location of data collection and the methodological choices of researchers, this study answers the question ＂How unique are the methodological choices of HR research conducted in Asia？＂ Applying content analysis to 241 published articles, we compare internal, external, construct and statistical conclusion validity of studies collected in North America （n^66）, Europe （n=95） and Asia （n=80, including 57 studies from China）. results show that despite similarities in cross-sectional, single-informant and single-level designs across regions, research conducted in Asia is mainly undertaken via field studies, using subjective outcome measures at the organizational level, following a post-predictive design. In addition, studies from Asia are more recent, and show a shorter time gap between data collection and publication. Theoretical and practical implications embedded in the dynamic context of Asia in general, and China more specifically are discussed.

Introduction:California’s recent drought(2012–2016)has implications throughout the state for natural resource management and adaptation planning and has generated many discussions about drought characterization and *** study characterizes drought conditions with two indices describing deficits in natural water supply and increases in landscape stress developed on the basis of water balance modeling,at a fine spatial scale to assess the variation in conditions across the entire state,and provides an in-depth evaluation for the Russian River basin in northern California to address local resource management by developing extreme drought scenarios for consideration in planning and ***:We employed the USGS Basin Characterization Model to characterize drought on the basis of water supply(a measure of recharge plus runoff)and landscape stress(climatic water deficit).These were applied to the state and to the Russian River basin where antecedent soil moisture conditions were evaluated and extreme drought scenarios were developed and run through a water management and reservoir operations model to further explore impacts on water ***:Drought indices indicated that as of the end of water year 2016 when reservoirs were full,additional water supply and landscape replenishment of up to three average years of precipitation in some locations was needed to return to normal *** soil conditions in the Russian River were determined to contribute to very different water supply results for different years and were necessary to understand to anticipate proper watershed response to *** drought scenarios manifested very different kinds of drought and recovery and characterization helps to guide the management response to ***:These scenarios and indices illustrate how droughts differ with regard to water supply and landscape stress and how long warm droughts recover much more slowly than short very dry dro

Neuroinflammation is a common element involved in the pathophysiology of neurodegenerative *** recently reported that repeated alpha-7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor（α7 n ACh R） activations by a potent agonist such as PHA 543613 in quinolinic acid-injured rats exhibited protective effects on *** further investigate the underlying mechanism,we established rat models of early-stage Huntington＇s disease by injection of quinolinic acid into the right striatum and then intraperitoneally injected 12 mg/kg PHA 543613 or sterile water,twice a day during 4 *** blot assay results showed that the expression of heme oxygenase-1（HO-1）,the key component of the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway,in the right striatum of rat models of Huntington＇s disease subjected to intraperitoneal injection of PHA 543613 for 4 days was significantly increased compared to the control rats receiving intraperitoneal injection of sterile water,and that the increase in HO-1 expression was independent of change in α7 n ACh R *** findings suggest that HO-1 expression is unrelated to α7 n ACh R density and the increase in HO-1 expression likely contributes to α7 n ACh R activation-related neuroprotective effect in early-stage Huntington＇s disease.

The recent discovery of cancer cell plasticity,*** ability to reprogram into cancer stem cells(CSCs)either naturally or under chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy,has changed,once again,the way we consider cancer *** cancer stemness is a reversible epigenetic state rather than a genetic identity,opportunities will arise for therapeutic strategies that remodel epigenetic landscapes of ***,the systematic use of DNA methyltransferase and histone deacetylase inhibitors,alone or in combination,in advanced solid tumors including colorectal cancers,regardless of their molecular subtypes,does not seem to be the best *** this review,we first summarize the knowledge researchers have gathered on the epigenetic signatures of CSCs with the difficulty of isolating rare populations of *** raise questions about the relevant use of currently available epigenetic inhibitors(epidrugs)while the expression of numerous cancer stem cell markers are often repressed by epigenetic *** markers include the three cluster of differentiation CD133,CD44 and CD166 that have been extensively used for the isolation of colon ***,we describe current treatment strategies using epidrugs,and we hypothesize that,using correlation tools comparing associations of relevant CSC markers with chromatin modifier expression,we could identify better candidates for epienzyme targeting.

This study aimed to evaluate the supplementation of the probiotic Pseudoalteromonas piscicida 1Ub to the biofloc system as an ecofriendly strategy for protecting white shrimp(Penaeus vannamei)from Vibrio parahaemolyticus *** with an average body weight of(0.50±0.09)g were reared in 30 glass jars with a working volume of 2.5 L at a density of 20 ind/*** were reared for 5 d for each treatment,which included the biofloc system without and with 106 colony forming unit(CFU)per mL *** regular clear water system was used as *** treatment groups were challenged with 103,105,and 107 CFU/mL *** the negative control,shrimp were reared without *** results showed that the density of *** cocultured with *** 1Ub decreased and the density of *** in rearing water and shrimp body in the probiotic-treated group was lower than that in the control group(Presponse(total hemocyte count,phagocytic activity,respiratory burst,phenoloxidase,and superoxide dismutase)of shrimp in the probiotic group was higher than that in the positive control(Preover,supplementing the biofloc system with the probiotic could protect shrimp hepatopancreas from damage caused by ***,regardless of bacterial ***,the supplementation of the probiotic *** 1Ub in the biofloc system could significantly protect and increase the resistance of shrimp to *** infection.
