The analysis of satellite images is of fundamental importance in relation to understanding the evolution in land *** general objective of this study is to analyze the changes in characteristics of rural land use in the municipality of Carazinho(RS)from 2001 to 2020 through the analysis of images taken from the Landsat TM-7 and TM-8 *** TM-7 and TM-8 satellite images were classified and supervised,thus generation thematic maps with the following groups:tillage,forest,water resources and exposed *** analysis of this study showed that in 2001 the tillage group had an area of 10,651.6 ha,the forest group had an area of 7,248.03 ha,the water resources group occupied an area of 1,444.96 ha,and the exposed soil group occupied an area of 6,798.75 *** using the images taken in 2020,the same area presented the following data:the tillage group with an area of 15,941.5 ha.(60.95%),the forest group with an area of 4,320.99 ha(16.52%),water resources group with an area of 141.02 ha(0.53%),and the exposed soil group with an area of 5,747.22 ha(21.97%).The results demonstrate changes in land use during the study period,mainly with regard to the increase of cultivation areas and,consequently,the suppression of vegetation.

This study investigated the effects of yerba mate consumption, a South American beverage, on cardiac remodeling in rats. For this purpose, 24 male Wistar rats were divided into Control Group (CG) which received filtered water and a standard diet, and Yerba Mate Group (YM), 6 g of Ilex paraguariensis in 100 ml water and the same diet, for 30 days. The YM group showed a reduction in final body weight and food consumption without altering weight gain. Regarding cardiac remodeling, the YM group exhibited a decrease in the right ventricle weight/final body weight ratio, suggesting cardiac atrophy, without affecting the atria and left ventricle. There was no change in cardiomyocyte area or nuclear fractal dimension in both groups. However, animals that consumed yerba mate showed increased collagen deposition and a smaller fractal dimension in the left ventricle. The consumption of yerba mate at room temperature for 30 days induced changes in cardiac remodeling, as evidenced by increased collagen deposition and alterations in fractal dimension in the left ventricle.

Corn starch,glycerol and agroindustrial residues were used to produce films by ***-products from juice processing,blueberry and jaboticaba in powder with different particle sizes were added in the filmogenic matrix to evaluate its potential as a colorimetric *** and jaboticaba peels are commonly discarded although contain high amount of important compounds as *** compounds have the ability to color change after immersion in different pH values,demonstrating its potential for the intelligent packaging *** were performed in a colorimeter after films immersion in different buffer *** color changes were perceived;reddish and bluish color in acidic and basic pH values,*** of the particle size,theΔE* values were greater than 5,showing visually perceptible change to the human *** results indicate the potential of use of these residues as a pH indicator for the development of renewable and biodegradable sensor of food deterioration.

We report the results of carbon stored in soil and aboveground biomass from the most important area of mangroves in Mexico, with dominant vegetation of Red mangrove （Rhizophora mangle L.）, Black mangrove （Avicennia germinans L.）, white mangrove （Laguncularia racemosa Gaertn.） and button mangrove （Conocarpus erectus L.）. We sampled soils with high fertility during the dry season in 2009 and 2010 at three sites on Atasta Peninsula, Campeche. We used allometric equations to estimate above ground biomass （AGB） of trees. AGB was higher in C. erectus （253.18±32.17 t？ha-1）, lower in A. germinans （161.93±12.63 t？ha-1）, and intermediate in R. mangle （181.70±16.58 t？ha-1） and L. racemosa （206.07±19.12 t？ha-1）. Of the three studied sites, the highest absolute value for AGB was 279.72 t？ha-1 in button mangrove forest at any single site. Carbon stored in soil at the three sites ranged from 36.80±10.27 to 235.77±66.11 t？ha-1. The Tukey test （p 〈0.05） made for AGB was higher for black mangrove showed significant differences in soil carbon content between black mangrove and button mangrove. C. erectus had higher AGB compared with the other species. A. germinans trees had lower AGB because they grew in hypersaline environments, which reduced their development. C. erectus grew on higher ground where soils were richer in nutrients. AGB tended to be low in areas near the sea and increased with distance from the coast. A. germinans usually grew on recently deposited sediments. We assumed that all sites have the same potential to store carbon in soil, and then we found that there were no significant differences in carbon content between the three samples sites： all sites had potential to store carbon for long periods. Carbon storage at the three sampling sites in the state of Campeche, Mexico, was higher than that reported for other locations.

Background:This study is aimed at describing the prevalence of and risk factors associated with early post-operative complications after Crohn’s disease-related intestinal ***:This was a retrospective analysis of data from the PRACTICROHN *** Crohn’s disease patients who underwent ileocolonic resection with ileocolonic anastomosis between January 2007 and December 2010 were *** complications evaluated included death,ileus,anastomotic leak,abscess,wound infection,catheter-related infection,digestive bleeding and other extra-abdominal infections that occurred in the 30 days after ***:A total of 364 patients(median age at surgery 38 years and 50%men)were *** for surgery was:stricturing disease(46.4%),penetrating disease(31.3%),penetrating and stricturing disease(14.0%)or resistance to medical treatment(5.8%).Early complications were recorded in 100(27.5%)patients,with wound infection,intra-abdominal abscess and anastomotic leakage being the most frequent *** hospitalization duration was 16 days for patients with complications vs.9 days without complications(P<0.001).Complications were more common among patients with penetrating disease(36/114,31.6%)and those refractory to treatment(9/21,42.9%)compared with stricturing disease(45/169,26.6%)or stricturingtpenetrating disease(6/51,11.8%)(P=0.040).The rate of complications was higher among patients with diagnosis made at the time of surgery(15/31,48.4%)compared with the rest(85/331,25.7%)(P=0.013).Medication received at the time of surgery did not affect the rate of ***:Almost a quarter of patients developed early complications after intestinal *** disease and urgent surgery were associated with an increased risk of complications.

This article is an extensive review that provides an update on the pathophysiology,symptoms,diagnosis,and treatment of diabetic *** is no reported prevalence,but it has been described that patients with type 1 diabetes have a cumulative incidence at 10 years of 5.2%,and type 2 patients,1%.Also,in the group of type 1 diabetes,it has been observed that women are more likely to present this condition(5.8%vs 3.5%).Many factors are associate with its development(e.g.,hyperglycemia,vagal dysfunction,loss of expression of neural nitric oxide synthase in the myenteric plexus,alterations in the Cajal interstitial cell network,and oxidative stress).Gastrointestinal discomfort could be perceived 70% higher in diabetic patients,describing that 25%of diabetic patients experience gastrointestinal *** enteropathy could affect any portion of the gastrointestinal tract,but esophageal alterations were described in more than 60% of diabetic patients,also 60% of them present constipation,and 20%,*** emptying scintigraphy is useful to evaluate gastroparesis,therefore,gastric retention of more than 60%at 2 h has a sensitivity of 100% and specificity of 20% for diagnosis;however,other studies such as breath tests,with a sensitivity of 89% and a specificity of 80%,or the endoscopic capsule contribute to the *** is no cure;however,management must be multidisciplinary,focused on slowing the progression of diabetic gastroenteropathy,reducing symptoms,and restoring function;that includes nutritional recommendation,maintain glucose levels kept below 180 mg/dL,use of prokinetics,anti-emetics;nowadays,it has been special interest in surgical treatment,such as pyloroplasty,also gastric electrical stimulation appears to be another alternative.
