Effects of processing parameters on fabrication defects,microstructure and mechanical properties of additive manufactured Mg–Nd–Zn–Zr alloy by selective laser melting process

Mg–3Nd–0.2Zn–0.4Zr(NZ30K,wt.%)alloy is a new kind of high-performance metallic *** combination of the NZ30K Magnesium(Mg)alloy and selective laser melting(SLM)process seems to be an ideal solution to produce porous Mg degradable ***,the microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of the SLMed NZ30K Mg alloy were not yet studied ***,the fabrication defects,microstructure,and mechanical properties of the SLMed NZ30K alloy under different processing parameters were *** results show that there are two types of fabrication defects in the SLMed NZ30K alloy,gas pores and unfused *** the increase of the laser energy density,the porosity sharply decreases to the minimum first and then slightly *** minimum porosity is 0.49±0.18%.While the microstructure varies from the large grains with lamellar structure inside under low laser energy density,to the large grains with lamellar structure inside&the equiaxed grains&the columnar grains under middle laser energy density,and further to the fine equiaxed grains&the columnar grains under high laser energy *** lamellar structure in the large grain is a newly observed microstructure for the NZ30K Mg *** laser energy density leads to finer grains,which enhance all the yield strength(YS),ultimate tensile strength(UTS)and elongation,and the best comprehensive mechanical properties obtained are YS of 266±2.1 MPa,UTS of 296±5.2 MPa,with an elongation of 4.9±0.68%.The SLMed NZ30K Mg alloy with a bimodal-grained structure consisting of fine equiaxed grains and coarser columnar grains has better elongation and a yield drop phenomenon.

Building a reference indicator model using co-kriging interpolation to determine the geographical origin of the flighted spongy moth complex in China

Using stable isotopes to detect and analyze the geographical origin of insects represents an important traceability technology,which requires a rich isotope *** this study,we representatively sampled the Chinese provinces where flighted spongy moth complex(FSMC)has been reported and,for the first time,used co-kriging interpolation to predict the distribution patterns of FSMC s13C values in the main distribution *** 2020 to 2022,we set up 60 traps in 12 provinces and cities in China and collected 795 ***,6 main climatic factors were obtained by multi-collinearity screening from 21 types of meteorological data collected at the sample plots,and a correlation analysis was carried out by combining longitude,latitude,and altitude data with the s13C val-ues of ***,we performed a co-kriging interpolation using the 2 climatic factors with the highest correlation(isothermality and altitude)and the s13C values of FSMC.A cross-validation was performed to systematically test 11 candidate models and select the best semi-variogram model(Exponential"),which was then used to build a co-kriging interpolation *** geographical distribution patterns of the FSMC s13C values ob-tained from the 2 interpolation models(i.e.,interpolated with isothermality and altitude,respectively)were almost the ***,the s13C values varied significantly at the regional scale,showing regular changes in spatial ***,the reference indi-cator map of the 813C values generated from stable isotopes can be used to greatly improve the efficiency of discrimination analyses on the geographical origin of FSMC.

Enhancing mechanisms of N-doped biomass carbon on the vanadium-based catalyst for furan degradation at low temperature

Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and polychlorinated dibenzofurans(PCDD/Fs)have attracted widespread concern due to their high toxicity,and their difficult manipulation in laboratories has made the research process ***,in our work,furan is selected as the model compound owing to the same structure of a central oxygenate *** catalytic oxidation is regarded as an effective and applicable method for the abatement of PCDD/Fs,the synthesis of low-temperature catalysts is still a challenging problem in practical *** this situation,we prepared a novel V_(2)O_(5)/TiO_(2)catalyst modified with N-doped hierarchical porous carbon(NHPC)via a wet impregnation *** V/T-1%NHPC catalyst could achieve expectant low-temperature performances with 50%furan conversion at 150℃and a complete conversion at 200℃,which decreased 23℃and 40℃compared to the V/T catalyst ***,the addition of NHPC presented lifting chemical stability during long-time *** addition of NHPC in V/T catalysts decreased the formation of crystalline V_(2)O_(5) and increased the percentages of V^(5+)and O_(lat),which improved the utilization of vanadium ions and the catalytic ***,the higher binding energy shift of O_(lat) implied more reaction possibility with other oxidise ***,this work proved the lifting catalytic activity by the interaction between catalysts and NHPC,and proposed the promoting effects of the N *** results showed that the content of the pyridinic N and graphitic N in NHPC changed after combining with V/T catalyst,which played crucial roles in the excellent catalytic ***,this work provides comprehensive research of the V/T-1%NHPC catalyst toward furan oxidation at low temperature and explain the effects of N-doped biomass carbon in catalytic activity clearly,which gave a new thought to design low-temperature catalysts in PCDD/Fs ***,the internal functional mech

Inhibition of retinal ganglion cell apoptosis: regulation of mitochondrial function by PACAP

Pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide（PACAP） is an endogenous peptide with neuroprotective effects on retinal neurons, but the precise mechanism underlying these effects remains unknown. Considering the abundance of mitochondria in retinal ganglion cells（RGCs）, we postulate that the protective effect of PACAP is associated with the regulation of mitochondrial function. RGC-5 cells were subjected to serum deprivation for 48 hours to induce apoptosis in the presence or absence of 100 nM PACAP. As revealed with the Cell Counting Kit-8 assay, PACAP at different concentrations significantly increased the viability of RGC-5 cells. PACAP also inhibited the excessive generation of reactive oxygen species in RGC-5 cells subjected to serum deprivation. We also showed by flow cytometry that PACAP inhibited serum deprivation-induced apoptosis in RGC-5 cells. The proportions of apoptotic cells and cells with mitochondria depolarization were significantly decreased with PACAP treatment. Western blot assays demonstrated that PACAP increased the levels of Bcl-2 and inhibited the compensatory increase of PAC1. Together, these data indicate protective effects of PACAP against serum deprivation-induced apoptosis in RGCs, and that the mechanism of this action is associated with maintaining mitochondrial function.

The ratios of the cross section of the transfer-ionization to the single-electron-capture of Argon induced by Cq+ (q=1,2,3) ions are measured by means of position sensitive and time-of-flight techniques. Our experimental results are compared with the data of Heq+ (q=1,2)-Ar of DuBois. A qualitative interpretation is presented based on the Classical-Over-Barrier Model of Bohr.

Nonphytotoxic copper oxide nanoparticles are powerful“nanoweapons”that trigger resistance in tobacco against the soil-borne fungal pathogen Phytophthora nicotianae

Investigations into the potential application of nanoparticles acting as nanofungicides in sustainable agriculture are rapidly expanding due to the high antimicrobial properties of these compounds,which do not risk inducing pathogen resistance to fungicides.A detailed understanding of the impact of copper oxide nanoparticles(CuO NPs)on soil-borne phytopathogenic fungi is yet to be *** study aimed to explore the in vitro antifungal activity and control efficacy of CuO NPs applied via irrigation with respect to tobacco black shank(TBS)disease caused by Phytophthora *** results revealed that CuO NPs greatly interfered with the reproductive growth process of this fungus,repressing hyphal growth,spore germination and sporangium ***,morphological damage,intracellular ROS accumulation and increased SOD enzyme activity in hyphae were the antifungicidal mechanisms of these *** pot experiments,treatment with CuO NPs at 100 mg L^(–1)significantly suppressed TBS development,compared with the effect on control plants,and the control efficacy reached 33.69%without inducing *** to CuO NPs significantly activated a series of defense enzymes,and resistance genes in tobacco can further explain the mechanisms by which CuO NPs suppressed fungal *** Cu content in both the leaves and roots of ***-infested plants increased by 50.03 and 27.25%,respectively,after treatment with 100 mg L^(–1)CuO NPs,compared with that of healthy *** particular,a higher Cu content was observed in infected roots than in ***,this study showed the potential of CuO NPs applied as nanofungicides and as nanoinducers of fungus resistance genes for the management of TBS through inhibition of pathogen infection and stimulation of plant defenses.

The drive toward miniaturization,functionalization,and environmental conservation in electronic devices has increased the demand for low-temperature solder in 3D packaging *** influence of Sb incorporation on the structure and properties of SnBiIn solder at an equal molar ratio is *** is demonstrated that Sb incorporation facilitates the formation of SnIn phase and induces the precipitation of spherical Bi ***,the concentration of Sb directly affects the morphologies of both Bi and SbIn *** amount of Sb also directly impacts the morphologies of Bi and SbIn phases,resulting in distinct solid solution and second-phase strengthening *** effects consequently alter the properties of the *** phenomenon arises because Sb hinders atomic diffusion within the joint,leading to the formation of thin Cu6(Sn,In)5 intermetallic *** can be reasonably inferred that lead-free low-temperature solders,based on high-entropy alloy multicomponent compositions and engineered via elemental modulation,show pro-mise for successful applications in electronic packaging.

Antioxidant Activities of Nine Selected Culinary Spices from China

The antioxidant activities and the total phenolic contents of the water and/or ethanol extracts of the nine selected culinary spices from China were systematically investigated. Both ethanol extracts and water extracts had high ability of 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl（DPPH） radical scavenging, 2, 2＇-azinobis（3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulphonic acid）（ABTS） radical scavenging and ferric reducing antioxidant power（FRAP）. The ethanol extract of Sichuan pepper showed the highest ability of DPPH radical scavenging. The extract with the highest ABTS radical scavenging effect was that of ethanol extract of cinnamon. Both ethanol and water extracts of cinnamon possessed the high ferric reducing antioxidant power（FRAP） with the values of 4 541.87 and 1 134.52 μmol of Fe（Ⅱ）/g. The extracts with high hydroxyl radical-mediated deoxyribose degradation were all the ethanol extracts as follows： cinnamon, bay leaf, Sichuan pepper, star anise and fennel. The extracts with high antioxidant activities also had the high contents of the phenols. The study indicated that these spices might be potentially be used as natural antioxidants in food.

Medulloblastoma(MB)is a common yet highly heterogeneous childhood malignant brain tumor,however,clinically effective molecular targeted therapy is *** of hedgehog(HH)signaling by epigenetically targeting the transcriptional factors GLI through bromodomain-containing protein 4(BRD4)has recently spurred new interest as potential treatment of HH-driven *** screening of current clinical BRD4 inhibitors for their inhibitory potency against glioma-associated oncogene homolog(GLI)protein,the BRD4 inhibitor 2 was selected as the lead for further structural optimization,which led to the identification of compounds 25 and 35 as the high potency HH *** profiling showed that both compounds suppressed HH signaling by interacting with the transcriptional factor GLI,and were equally potent against the clinical resistant mutants and the wild type of smoothened(SMO)receptor with IC50 values around 1 nmol/*** the resistant MB allograft mice,compound 25 was well tolerated and markedly suppressed tumor growth at both 5 mg/kg(TGI=83.3%)and 10 mg/kg(TGI=87.6%)*** further modification is needed to improve the pharmacokinetic(PK)parameters,compound 25 represents an efficacious lead compound of GLI inhibitors,possessing optimal safety and tolerance to fight against HH-driven MB.
