Myocarditis is a significant public health concern because of its potential to cause heart failure and sudden *** standard invasive diagnostic method,endomyocardial bi-opsy,is typically reserved for cases with severe complications,limiting its widespread ***,non‐invasive cardiac magnetic resonance(CMR)imaging presents a promising alternative for detecting and monitoring myocarditis,because of its high signal contrast that reveals myocardial *** assist medical professionals via artificial intelligence,the authors introduce generative adversarial networks‐multi discriminator(GAN‐md),a deep learning model that uses binary classification to diagnose myocarditis from CMR *** approach employs a series of convolutional neural networks(CNNs)that extract and combine feature vectors for accurate *** authors suggest a novel technique for improving the classification precision of *** generative adversarial networks(GANs)to create synthetic images for data augmentation,the authors address challenges such as mode collapse and unstable *** a reconstruction loss into the GAN loss function requires the generator to produce images reflecting the discriminator features,thus enhancing the generated images'quality to more accurately replicate authentic data ***,combining this loss function with other reg-ularisation methods,such as gradient penalty,has proven to further improve the perfor-mance of diverse GAN models.A significant challenge in myocarditis diagnosis is the imbalance of classification,where one class dominates over the *** mitigate this,the authors introduce a focal loss‐based training method that effectively trains the model on the minority class *** GAN‐md approach,evaluated on the Z‐Alizadeh sani myocarditis dataset,achieves superior results(F‐measure 86.2%;geometric mean 91.0%)compared with other deep learning models and traditional machine learning methods.

The risk of mpox importation and subsequent outbreak potential in Chinese mainland: a retrospective statistical modelling study

Background The 2022-2023 mpox(monkeypox)outbreak has spread rapidly across multiple countries in the non-endemic region,mainly among men who have sex with men(MsM).In this study,we aimed to evaluate mpox's importation risk,border screening effectiveness and the risk of local outbreak in Chinese *** We estimated the risk of mpox importation in Chinese mainland from April 14 to september 11,2022 using the number of reported mpox cases during this multi-country outbreak from *** and the international air-travel data from Official Aviation *** constructed a probabilistic model to simulate the effectiveness of a border screening scenario during the mpox outbreak and a hypothetical scenario with less stringent quarantine *** we further evaluated the mpox outbreak potential given that undetected mpox infections were introduced into men who have sex with men,considering different transmissibility,population immunity and population *** We found that the reduced international air-travel volume and stringent border entry policy decreased about 94% and 69% mpox importations *** the quarantine policy,15-19% of imported infections would remain *** a case of mpox is introduced into active MsM population with almost no population immunity,the risk of triggering local transmission is estimated at 42%,and would rise to>95% with over six *** Our study demonstrates that the reduced international air-travel volume and stringent border entry policy during the COvID-19 pandemic reduced mpox importations ***,the risk could be sub-stantially higher with the recovery of air-travel volume to pre-pandemic *** could emerge as a public health threat for Chinese mainland given its large MsM community.

Engineering transition metal compounds(TMCs)catalysts with excellent adsorption-catalytic ability has been one of the most effec-tive strategies to accelerate the redox kinetics of sulfur ***,this review focuses on engineering TMCs catalysts by cation doping/anion doping/dual doping,bimetallic/bi-anionic TMCs,and TMCs-based heterostructure *** is obvious that introducing cations/anions to TMCs or constructing heterostructure can boost adsorption-catalytic capacity by regulating the electronic structure including energy band,d/p-band center,electron filling,and valence ***,the elec-tronic structure of doped/dual-ionic TMCs are adjusted by inducing ions with different electronegativity,electron filling,and ion radius,resulting in electron redistribution,bonds reconstruction,induced vacancies due to the electronic interaction and changed crystal structure such as lat-tice spacing and lattice *** from the aforementioned two strategies,heterostructures are constructed by two types of TMCs with different Fermi energy levels,which causes built-in electric field and electrons transfer through the interface,and induces electron redistribution and arranged local atoms to regulate the electronic ***,the lacking studies of the three strategies to comprehensively regulate electronic structure for improving catalytic performance are pointed *** is believed that this review can guide the design of advanced TMCs catalysts for boosting redox of lithium sulfur batteries.

In 2022,Yellow sea green tide caused by Ulva prolifera reached a historic minimum and the coastal areas of shandong Peninsula were less ***,the largest amount of seaweed biomass has been washed ashore on Lianyungang and Rizhao coasts since *** studied the development pattern of Yellow sea green tide in 2022,and analyzed the key environmental factors on the growth and drifting,then discussed the possible reasons that resulted in the massive stranding of green tide biomass in Lianyungang and *** show under the combined influence of the east to southeast winds and currents with shoreward anomalies,green tide drifted to the coastal waters between shandong and Jiangsu provinces and the distribution areas located westward compared with previous years(2008–2021).Floating *** rafts from the coastal waters of Binhai and sheyang drifted continuously into the coastal waters of Lianyungang and Rizhao,providing important supplements for Yellow sea green *** green tide in 2022 distributed close to the coastal waters,the abundant nutrients might support their continuous high growth *** addition,the amount of rainfall around shandong Peninsula from late June to early July were significantly higher than in previous years,which might promote the development of green tide to some extent.

BACKGROUND This study aimed to evaluate the safety of enhanced recovery after surgery(ERAs)in elderly patients with gastric cancer(GC).AIM To evaluate the safety of ERAs in elderly patients with *** The PubMed,EMBAsE,and Cochrane Library databases were used to search for eligible studies from inception to April 1,*** mean difference(md),odds ratio(OR)and 95%confidence interval(95%CI)were pooled for *** quality of the included studies was evaluated using the Newcastle-Ottawa scale *** used stata(V.16.0)software for data *** This study consists of six studies involving 878 elderly *** analyzing the clinical outcomes,we found that the ERAs group had shorter postoperative hospital stays(md=-0.51,I2=0.00%,95%CI=-0.72 to-0.30,P=0.00);earlier times to first flatus(defecation;md=-0.30,I²=0.00%,95%CI=-0.55 to-0.06,P=0.02);less intestinal obstruction(OR=3.24,I2=0.00%,95%CI=1.07 to 9.78,P=0.04);less nausea and vomiting(OR=4.07,I2=0.00%,95%CI=1.29 to 12.84,P=0.02);and less gastric retention(OR=5.69,I2=2.46%,95%CI=2.00 to 16.20,P=0.00).Our results showed that the conventional group had a greater mortality rate than the ERAs group(OR=0.24,I2=0.00%,95%CI=0.07 to 0.84,P=0.03).However,there was no statistically significant difference in major complications between the ERAs group and the conventional group(OR=0.67,I2=0.00%,95%CI=0.38 to 1.18,P=0.16).CONCLUsION Compared to those with conventional recovery,elderly GC patients who received the ERAs protocol after surgery had a lower risk of mortality.

The impedance matching of absorbers is a vital factor affecting their microwave absorption(MA)*** this work,we controllably synthesized Material of Institute Lavoisier 88C(MIL-88C)with varying aspect ratios(AR)as a precursor by regulating oil bath conditions,followed by one-step thermal decomposition to obtain carbon-coated iron-based *** the precursor MIL-88C(Fe)preparation conditions,such as the molar ratio between metal ions and organic ligands(M/O),oil bath temperature,and oil bath time,influenced the phases,graphitization degree,and AR of the derivatives,enabling low filler loading,achieving well-matched impedance,and ensuring outstanding MA *** MOF-derivatives 2(md_(2))/polyvinylidene Difluoride(PVDF),md_(3)/PVDF,and md4/PVDF absorbers all exhibited excellent MA properties with optimal filler loadings below 20 wt%and as low as 5 wt%.The md_(2)/PVDF(5 wt%)achieved a maximum effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)of 5.52 GHz(1.90 mm).The md_(3)/PVDF(10 wt%)possessed a minimum reflection loss(RL_(min))value of−67.4 at 12.56 GHz(2.13 mm).A symmetric gradient honeycomb structure(sGHs)was constructed utilizing the high-frequency structure simulator(HFss)to further extend the EAB,achieving an EAB of 14.6 GHz and a RL_(min) of−59.0 *** research offers a viable inspiration to creating structures or materials with high-efficiency MA properties.

The determination of nonlinearities near the band edge of organic and polymeric electro-optic(EO)materials is important from the viewpoint of molecular nonlinear optics(NLO)and photonic device *** on transmission-mode stark effect electromodulation(EM)spectroscopy,we study the electric-field-induced changes in optical absorption and refraction of newly developed EO polymers from the visible to near-infrared(NIR)wavelengths and report record-high near-band-edge complex EO effects from poled thin *** ofΔn andΔk up to 10^(-3) and 10^(-2) are found at an applied electric field of 2.0×10^(5)-3.0×10^(5)V/*** study of linear optical properties of poled films by spectroscopic ellipsometry shows large polinginduced birefringence and a nearly two-fold increase in the extinction coefficients at the extraordinary *** the Kramers-Kronig analysis,we obtained the real and imaginary second-order nonlinear coefficients up to~3,500 and~5,600 pm/V,respectively,which are believed to be the highest NLO coefficients of poled polymers through the resonance *** approach goes beyond the previous works,applicable only to several discrete wavelengths,to a full-spectral analysis with independent verification of slab waveguide *** considering both the electroabsorption and electrorefraction effects,our study overcomes the limitation of the classic qualitative two-level model and provides a quantitative understanding of near-resonance optical nonlinearities of organic EO *** can inspire the exploration of high-speed,absorptive,or phase-shifting light-modulators using EO polymers for on-chip applications.
