Sleep deprivation(SD)is a widespread issue that disrupts the lives of millions of *** effects ini-tiate as changes within neurons,specifically at the DNA and RNA level,leading to disruptions in neuronal plasticity and the dysregulation of various cognitive functions,such as learning and *** acid epigenetic modifications that could regulate gene expression have been reported to play crucial roles in this ***,there is a lack of comprehensive research on the correlation of SD with nucleic acid epigenetic *** the current study,we aimed to systematically investigate the landscape of modifications in DNA as well as in small RNA molecules across multiple tissues,including the heart,liver,kidney,lung,hippocampus,and spleen,in response to chronic sleep deprivation(CSD).Using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(LC-MS/MS)analysis,we characterized the dynamic changes in DNA and RNA modification profiles in different tissues of mice under CSD ***,we ob-served a significant decrease in the level of 5-methylcytosine(5mC)and a significant increase in the level of 5-hydroxymethylcytosine(5hmC)in the kidney in CSD *** RNA modifications,we observed an overall increased trend for most of these significantly changed modifications across six tis-sues in CSD *** study sheds light on the significance of DNA and RNA modifications as crucial epigenetic markers in the context of CSD-induced stress.

Monitoring Sea Fog over the Yellow Sea and Bohai Bay Based on Deep Convolutional Neural Network

In this paper,we utilized the deep convolutional neural network D-LinkNet,a model for semantic segmentation,to analyze the Himawari-8 satellite data captured from 16 channels at a spatial resolution of 0.5 km,with a focus on the area over the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea(32°-42°N,117°-127°E).The objective was to develop an algorithm for fusing and segmenting multi-channel images from geostationary meteorological satellites,specifically for monitoring sea fog in this ***,the extreme gradient boosting algorithm was adopted to evaluate the data from the 16 channels of the Himawari-8 satellite for sea fog detection,and we found that the top three channels in order of importance were channels 3,4,and 14,which were fused into false color daytime images,while channels 7,13,and 15 were fused into false color nighttime ***,the simple linear iterative super-pixel clustering algorithm was used for the pixel-level segmentation of false color images,and based on super-pixel blocks,manual sea-fog annotation was performed to obtain fine-grained annotation *** deep convolutional neural network D-LinkNet was built on the ResNet backbone and the dilated convolutional layers with direct connections were added in the central part to form a string-and-combine structure with five branches having different depths and receptive *** show that the accuracy rate of fog area(proportion of detected real fog to detected fog)was 66.5%,the recognition rate of fog zone(proportion of detected real fog to real fog or cloud cover)was 51.9%,and the detection accuracy rate(proportion of samples detected correctly to total samples)was 93.2%.

Zinc-air batteries(ZABs)are promising energy storage systems because of high theoretical energy density,safety,low cost,and abundance of ***,the slow multi-step reaction of oxygen and heavy reliance on noble-metal catalysts hinder the practical applications of ***,feasible and advanced non-noble-metal elec-trocatalysts for air cathodes need to be identified to promote the oxygen catalytic *** this review,we initially introduced the advancement of ZABs in the past two decades and provided an overview of key developments in this ***,we discussed the work-ing mechanism and the design of bifunctional electrocatalysts from the perspective of morphology design,crystal structure tuning,interface strategy,and atomic *** also included theoretical studies,machine learning,and advanced characterization technologies to provide a comprehensive understanding of the structure-performance relationship of electrocatalysts and the reaction pathways of the oxygen redox ***,we discussed the challenges and prospects related to designing advanced non-noble-metal bifunctional electrocatalysts for ZABs.

Full utilization of the excited species at both singlet states(1R*)and triplet states(3R*)is crucial to improving electrochemiluminescence(ECL)efficiency but is challenging for organic luminescent ***,an aggregation-induced delayed ECL(AIDECL)active organic dot(OD)containing a benzophenone acceptor and dimethylacridine donor is reported,which shows high ECL efficiency via reverse intersystem crossing(RISC)of non-emissive 3R*to emissive 1R*,overcoming the spin-forbidden radiative decay from 3R*.By introducing dual donor-acceptor pairs into luminophores,it is found that nonradiative pathway could be further suppressed via enhanced intermolecular weak interactions,and multiple spin-up conversion channels could be *** a consequence,the obtained OD enjoys a 6.8-fold higher ECL efficiency relative to the control AIDECL-active ***-crystal studies and theoretical calculations reveal that the enhanced AIDECL behaviors come from the acceleration of both radiative transition and *** work represents a major step towards purely organic,high-efficiency ECL dyes and a direction for the design of next-generation ECL dyes at the molecular level.

Polysaccharide-based membranes with excellent mechanical properties are highly desired. However, severe mechanical deterioration under wet conditions limits their biomedical applications. Here, inspired by the structural heterogeneity of strong yet hydrated biological materials, we propose a strategy based on heterogeneous crosslink-and-hydration（HCH） of a molecule/nano dual-scale network to fabricate polysaccharide-based nanocomposites with robust wet mechanical properties. The heterogeneity lies in that the crosslink-and-hydration occurs in the molecule-network while the stress-bearing nanofiber-network remains unaffected. As one demonstration, a membrane assembled by bacterial cellulose nanofiber-network and Ca2+-crosslinked and hydrated sodium alginate molecule-network is designed. Studies show that the crosslinked-and-hydrated molecule-network restricts water invasion and boosts stress transfer of the nanofiber-network by serving as interfibrous bridge. Overall, the molecule-network makes the membrane hydrated and flexible; the nanofiber-network as stress-bearing component provides strength and *** HCH dual-scale network featuring a cooperative effect stimulates the design of advanced biomaterials applied under wet conditions such as guided bone regeneration membranes.

Objective Hypertriglyceridemic waist(HW),hypertriglyceridemic waist-to-height ratio(HWHtR),and waist-to-hip ratio(WHR)have been shown to be indicators of cardiometabolic risk ***,it is not clear which indicator is more suitable for children and *** aimed to investigate the relationship between HW,HWHtR,WHR,and cardiovascular risk factors clustering to determine the best screening tools for cardiometabolic risk in children and *** This was a national cross-sectional *** and biochemical variables were assessed in approximately 70,000 participants aged 6–18 years from seven provinces in ***,physical activity,dietary intake,and family history of chronic diseases were obtained through ***,χ2 and logistic regression analysis was *** A significant sex difference was observed for HWHtR and WHR,but not for HW *** risk of cardiometabolic health risk factor clustering with HW phenotype or the HWHtR phenotype was significantly higher than that with the non-HW or non-HWHtR phenotypes among children and adolescents(HW:OR=12.22,95%CI:9.54-15.67;HWHtR:OR=9.70,95%CI:6.93-13.58).Compared with the HW and HWHtR phenotypes,the association between risk of cardiometabolic health risk factors(CHRF)clustering and high WHR was much weaker and not significant(WHR:OR=1.14,95%CI:0.97-1.34).Conclusion Compared with HWHtR and WHR,the HW phenotype is a more convenient indicator with higher applicability to screen children and adolescents for cardiovascular risk factors.

Computed tomography-based radiomic model for the prediction of neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy response in patients with advanced gastric cancer

BACKGROUND Neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy(nICT)has emerged as a popular treatment approach for advanced gastric cancer(AGC)in clinical practice ***,the response of AGC patients to nICT displays significant heterogeneity,and no existing radiomic model utilizes baseline computed tomography to predict treatment *** To establish a radiomic model to predict the response of AGC patients to *** Patients with AGC who received nICT(n=60)were randomly assigned to a training cohort(n=42)or a test cohort(n=18).Various machine learning models were developed using selected radiomic features and clinical risk factors to predict the response of AGC patients to *** individual radiomic nomogram was established based on the chosen radiomic signature and clinical *** performance of all the models was assessed through receiver operating characteristic curve analysis,decision curve analysis(DCA)and the Hosmer Lemeshow goodness-of-fit *** The radiomic nomogram could accurately predict the response of AGC patients to *** the test cohort,the area under curve was 0.893,with a 95%confidence interval of *** indicated that the clinical application of the radiomic nomogram yielded greater net benefit than alternative *** A nomogram combining a radiomic signature and a clinical signature was designed to predict the efficacy of nICT in patients with *** tool can assist clinicians in treatment-related decision-making.
