The authors present the general theory of cleft extensions for a cocommutative weak Hopf algebra H. For a right H-comodule algebra, they obtain a bijective corre- spondence between the isomorphisms classes of H-cleft extensions AH → A, where AH is the subalgebra of coinvariants, and the equivalence classes of crossed systems for H over AH. Finally, they establish a bijection between the set of equivalence classes of crossed systems with a fixed weak H-module algebra structure and the second cohomology group H2φz（AH）（H, z（AH））, where z（AH） is the center of AH.

Stroke is a physiological alteration associated with changes in blood flow that can result in sudden-onset cognitive impairment. It has a heterogenous clinical presentation with varying degrees of severity correlated with specific central nervous system zones or areas, and its prognosis is uncertain. This case study describes a 62-year-old male patient with acquired brain damage of the anterior cingulate cortex as a result of an ischemic event in the territory of the left anterior cerebral artery. Cognitive function was assessed using the neuropsychological executive function and frontal lobe test battery (BAnFE-2) as well as other neuropsychological tests. The results show a profile of higher mental functions characterized by the presence of dysexecutive syndrome with marked behavioral alteration and diencephalic amnesia. .

Baird’s tapir(Tapirus bairdii)is currently endangered throughout its neotropical range with an expected popula--lished in Valle del Silencio within Parque Internacional la Amistad(PIlA).Seventy-seven tapir pictures of 15 individuals comprising 25 capture-recapture events were analyzed using mark-recapture *** 100%minimum convex polygon of the sampled area was 5.7 km2 and the effective sampled area using half mean max-imum distances moved by tapirs was 7.16 *** estimated a tapir density of 2.93 individuals/km2 which rep-resents the highest density reported for this *** valleys can represent unique and important habitats for large mammal ***,the extent of isolation of this population,potentially constrained by steep slopes of the cordillera,remains *** genetic and movement studies are required to un-derstand meta-population dynamics and connectivity between lowland and highland areas for Baird’s tapir con-servation in Costa Rica.

Post-acute pancreatitis diabetes(PAPD)is the second most common type of diabetes below type 2 diabetes *** to the boom in research on this entity carried out during the last decade,its recognition has ***,much of the medical community still does not recognize it as a medium and long-term complication of acute pancreatitis(AP).Recent prospective cohort studies show that its incidence is about 23%globally and 34.5%in patients with severe *** the overall increase in the incidence of AP this complication will be certainly seen more *** to its high morbidity,mortality and difficult control,early detection and treatment are ***,its risk factors and pathophysiological mechanisms are not clearly *** diagnosis should be made excluding pre-existing diabetes and applying the criteria of the American Diabetes Association after 90 d of resolution of one or more AP *** review will show the evidence published so far on the incidence and prevalence,risk factors,possible pathophysiological mechanisms,clinical outcomes,clinical characteristics and preventive and corrective management of *** important gaps needing to be clarified in forthcoming studies will also be discussed.

Mapping aboveground biomass by integrating geospatial and forest inventory data through a k-nearest neighbor strategy in north Central Mexico

As climate change negotiations progress,monitoring biomass and carbon stocks is becoming an important part of the current forest ***,national governments are interested in developing forest-monitoring strategies using geospatial *** statistical methods for mapping biomass,there is a nonparametric approach called k-nearest neighbor(knn).We compared four variations of distance metrics of the knn for the spatially-explicit estimation of aboveground biomass in a portion of the Mexican north border of the intertropical *** derived,climatic,and topographic predictor variables were combined with the Mexican national Forest Inventory(nFI)data to accomplish the *** of distance metrics applied into the knn algorithm was evaluated using a cross validation leave-one-out *** results indicate that the Most Similar neighbor(MSn)approach maximizes the correlation between predictor and response variables(r=0.9).Our results are in agreement with those reported in the *** findings confirm the predictive potential of the MSn approach for mapping forest variables at pixel level under the policy of Reducing Emission from Deforestation and Forest Degradation(REDD+).

Embryo and Endosperm Phytochemicals from Polyembryonic Maize Kernels and Their Relationship with Seed Germination

Because of the growing worldwide demand for maize grain,new alternatives have been sought for breeding of this cereal,e.g.,development of polyembryonic varieties,which agronomic performance could positively impact the grain yield per unit area,and nutritional *** objectives of this study were to(1)determine the phytochemicals present in the embryo and endosperm of grain from maize families with high,low,and null polyembryony frequency,which were planted at different locations,and(2)state the relationship between these compounds and seed *** extracted phytochemicals from corn were identified by *** results showed that the genotype with the highest presence of phytochemicals was the brachytic population with high polyembryony called“BAP”,which also required less water during the germination *** number of phytochemicals in both embryo and endosperm tissues was not related to the sowing location where they came from or the type of *** number of different phytochemicals depended on the grain tissue from where they were *** chemical compounds found in the different maize tissues were related to the development of the plant,either in roots or nibs because these are mainly associated with the lignin synthesis.

Improving precision of field inventory estimation of aboveground biomass through an alternative view on plot biomass

We contrast a new continuous approach(CA)for estimating plot-level above-ground biomass(agB)in forest inventories with the current approach of estimating agB exclusively from the tree-level agB predicted for each tree in a plot,henceforth called DA(discrete approach).With the CA,the agB in a forest is modelled as a continuous surface and the agB estimate for a fixed-area plot is computed as the integral of the agB surface taken over the plot *** with the CA,the portion of the biomass of in-plot trees that extends across the plot perimeter is ignored while the biomass from trees outside of the plot reaching inside the plot is *** use a sampling simulation with data from a fully mapped two hectare area to illustrate that important differences in plot-level agB estimates can *** CA-based estimates of mean agB should be less variable than those derived from the *** realized,this difference translates to a higher precision from field sampling,or a lower required sample *** our case study with a target precision of 5%(*** standard error of the estimated mean agB),the CA required a 27.1%lower sample size for small plots of 100 m2 and a 10.4%lower sample size for larger plots of 1700 *** examined sampling induced errors only and did not yet consider model *** discuss practical issues in implementing the CA in field inventories and the potential in applications that model biomass with remote sensing *** CA is a variation on a plot design for above-ground forest biomass;as such it can be applied in combination with any forest inventory sampling design.
